Hi, All. A few years ago I used an Android app that would automatically start my phone hotspot when I got in my car and the Bluetooth connected. I don't remember exactly which app it was but I have tried almost everything on the Play Store without success. Does anyone know of a working app that will do this? My phone is an S21 Ultra. This is the head-unit I have. For Mercedes Benz W211 E CLS 9" Android Car Stereo Radio GPS Navi 4+64GB Carplay
Thanks in advance.

That has nothing to do with your head unit, this is just to be done on your phone.
You can use Tasker as example to configure that.
There are also some other apps for automation available in the google store.
Quite an easy task to switch on tethering automatically if your phone is not working on Android 11 or later.

Hi,
is there any app, that is able to switch bluetooth tetherin ON/Off depending on bluetooth connection (e.g. inside car)?
I used tasker with a plugin to control bluetooth tethering. But it doesn't work since Android 11.
I didn't find any other bluetooth tethering app, which copes with the changed interface since Android 11. Each app that I tried, works only with older Android versions.
So I would be happy for any hint to a working app, which I can use to automate bluetooth tethering with Android 13.
Tkanks,
Achim

I don't know why I didn't just come to XDA first. I recently picked up a 2008 VW Touareg. The factory Nav system has to go, it's like playing a 8-bit video game and don't even get me started on how tedious it is using the search function without touch screen controls.
What I am looking for in a head unit:
Obviously running Android OS
Customizing ability, aka rooting, custom ROM and/or Launcher. I here THIS launcher is good, but I don't know if it works with all Android head units.
Backup Camera support (a bonus would be to be able to keep my OEM camera)
DVR to use with dash cameras
Steering wheel control support
Ability to install 3rd party apk's as well as use the Google Play store for apps.
It seems all the Android head units have one thing in common, they are all weird companies I've never heard of from China and the support I get is very limited when I have questions. Even if I go to Alibaba there are like 10 radios that all look the same. It also seems they all do about the same thing and have the same look so knowing what is what is not easy. This is where I am hoping you guys can help.
I have my eye on the company Seicane. They make THIS unit that will fit right in with no dash mods but the downside is a smaller screen. So with that said, I am leaning to a full double din radio but a lot of these are universal and don't say specifically if they work for my make/model car. I attached a pic of my OEM head unit if it helps.

I don't have any experience with the seicane or other android units yet (i'm looking at getting my first one now as well). That seicane unit should just drop right in with no issue which is nice. Other standard double din units should work, but you'll need to use a dash install kit. Be careful though. From what i've been reading it sounds like a lot of these chinese units are a slightly different size than standard double din. larger by a couple mm I think. They still fit, but you may have to modify the dash kit a bit to fit it.

I hope you guys can give me some tips on how to make it work.

go to your bluetooth settings and check your paring options: it should have Contacts, Call/dialing, Media. Is Media selected?

Never mind, I should have read the manual. I needed to open the ad2p app after connecting to play music.
Just installed a Joying 7" HU to an Australian Hyundai i30:
Spec JY - UO128N4GSN 8-Core Intel Spreadtrum SC9853i 1.8GHZ
Operating System: Android 8.1 Oreo
GPU: Maili T820 MP2
So far I have been very pleased with the operation and appearance of this HU after owning a prev version 4 years ago.
I have one bug I don't seem to be able to get the better of. I hope someone on this forum may be able to help.
I got a USB front camera mounted beside the center mirror. The camera is a generic Chinese unit U2 with ADAS etc. from E bay. The camera came with "Traffic Safety Guard" pre loaded into it's RAM. I put a 16G card in the camera slot. The software installed into the HU OK.
The picture from the camera displayed on the HU is very good. If I start the program it records the video very well and tags it with date time etc.
Problem:
The HU will not auto load the camera software on restarting the car.
The HU auto starts all other programs I left running like Radio, GPS nav and all others like music player.
If I manually restart the "Traffic Safety Guard" app all is well until I restart the car. Then the HU drops the program again. - infuriating.
Joying offered NO help on my request, said it was normal.
I tried a few Auto Start Apps but they do not change the problem - it still wont restart the camera app automatically.
Any help would be great. Keep in mind I am not proficient at writing software I am an ex telephone tech so elec trickery is my thing.

Use FYTStarter from @bambapin
See here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-ram-32gb-flash.3897206/page-58#post-80411035
You can sssign apps to be started on boot/resume from sleep.
That solution worked perfectly first time!!!
I now don't have to worry every time I start the car if I have turned the camera on.
Thank you for your help!
This forum and ones like it are one of the better things about the internet.
Thanks again.
hey everybody my dad just bought a new seicane
Double din H2 10.0 android
With the DSP add on
It’s in a 2012 Toyota sienna
We had a second there originally and we moved to an Alpine
But he’s giving me the Alpine to throw in another car so he got this new one
Problem is the sub else does not have any sound
Things don’t seem to be working correctly
I’ve seen this as a common issue
But is there any actual fix?
Also is it possible to use an external dac?
I have an audio technica and Berhinger card
Using a separate app to push audio through USB output it works but I want to get android system sound to go through
That way radio Bluetooth and all other sounds are pushed out
Hi, most probably , must change radio chip settings in infotainment hidden /admin menu, there is an option IC type of radio, must change to other chip settings.Try with that first

Seems like I’m missing stuff
I’m like really struggling lol
What is in factory settings ? Can you make photo of that menu (if it asks pin code try 8888 or what number it is)
And add photo of the menu RADIO in pic nb. 3 please.
"rk3368_user debug" - this is the designation of software update you might look for.
It is most probably on Russian PDA forum. Find & download right software and update device. It might fix the problem. That is one solution.
I'll study more when you get this pic of that radio menu.
P.S. What version of android is it and is it PX5 or PX6 chip?
Look for answers here also - this is for CAN bus and audio control related to alpine: https://www.wranglerforum.com/threa...-premium-sound-in-january-2020.2391881/page-2
Still struggling
For a 2012 Toyota Sienna
Here ya go
Ask your seller for update of system image. If problem is with software not hardware seller must have tyxxxx factory settings update files.
Hi to everyone.
I installed this unit some mounts ago on my Jeep Renegade MY17 with a lot of small issues. Now most of them are solved, but I'm still missing the possibility to set the speed unit of the car display in KPH instead of MPH
The speed on the Junsun itselfs is showed in KPH, but since I installed the unit the car display only shows MPH.
In the CAR app there is a setting to switch units from US (i reckon it means IMPERIAL) to METRIC but I cannot change it (does't save if I select METRIC) (see pics)
Maybe there is some other setting to be changed?
thanks

Fist poor idea would be to change the language, too. There shouldn't be a relationship with the units but sometimes our Chinese friends have crazy ideas.
hi,
yes I tried that already, no luck. Is there anyway to check the version of the car setting App? Maybe there is an updated version that could be fix the problem
thanks!
Where did you find this menu? I'm searching how to set fuel consumption from 1l / XXkm to liters per 100km.
It's from the preinstalled App "Car Info" and then "display"
Thanks! That helped. I'm using Agama car launcher, this app was missing from there. Switching to original launcher, icon appeared.
no worries. Can you manage to switch in your car in that car from KPH to MPH and vice versa?
thanks
