12 pin usb connection - Android Head-Units

Hi,
I recently purchased a usb cable for my android head unit and the lead doesn't work. I didn't buy the unit so I don't know the brand etc. The unit was in the car when I bought the car.
I'm guessing the wires that plug into the usb connection are in the wrong order. I have no way of finding out the correct order. Does anyone on the forum know the correct order or even show me a picture of their usb cable.
I've bought 2 cables so far, neither of them have worked and they cost close the £100. It's very frustrating that I can't get them to work
Thanks in advance

What does the seller suggest and what happened when you tried that.
Also, with no information and detailed screenshots, how did you want help

When I plug in the usb cable and try any basic usb connections like phone chargers usb sticks etc. Nothing happens at all.
I've attached a screenshot from a product guide I found online if that helps.
If anyone knew which pins were for data transfer or voltage, that could help me loads.
Thanks

Measuring is the magic word. 8 pins will be connected in the original cable. (VBUS)+5V 2 times and 2x GND
...then you only have to find out what is D- and what is D+ for the data lines.
If you don´t want to measure: Open the magic box and have a look at the pins from the connector inside.
Just with your picture no one can tell anything. Each supplier does it´s own magic.
By the way... Connecting that wrong, may damage the internal USB-Hub and you can buy a new mainboard... just to mention. Trying around is not a good idea.

Car USB adapter not recharging ?

Hi all
Any reason why an after market car usb adapter isnt able to recharge the streak?
Or it there one that can ?
It's because it isn't putting out enough power. I read a post about this a while ago, but forgot which forum, basically to get it to put out enough power you're gonna need to connect the two middle pins on the adapter. If it's easy to open then do that and solder the two middle pins and you should be good to go. I have a belkin one that I had to do this to

Hi ipguy,
Think fone_fanatic was refering to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=719815
Like he said, you need to solder the two middle pins on the USB connector so the phone can register it as a power source, but you have to make sure that the adaptor outputs 1000mA, most adaptors only output 500mA and won't work with the Streak, think someone said that they could overheat/malfunction if tried.
I had the same concern... And I'm not willing to try soldering anything I just ordered the accessories from dell.com I should get it by next week.

Tablet micro USB issue possibly

Hello recently I notice that when I plug the tablet in to my computer or through otg USB for data transfer it doesn't connect. However when I plug it in to for power to charge not charge s no problem. I fix it before thougt it was the electrical tape input over the speakers for good contact since I was having connection issue there. Any help would be great.
ave you tried using another micro usb cable? I have troubles to connect my N7 to pc with original cable but it works for charging fine aswell. I just use my phone cable to transfer files.
I have two other cables and they all do the same as well. Even when use otg with a USB it doesn't light up or shows up as working. Can anyone help me to were it may it the issue inside the tablet. Maybe a loose ground or somewhere. Just need the area where it may be the issue. Also maybe a website or eBay user you have used to replace the charging port with 3.5 mm audio jack since . preferably on eBay. Hope someone can help me out there.
There aren't many things that can go wrong. In the 2012 N7 (and many other devices) there are basically three possibilities:
- the USB cables (if you got multiple cheap cables, you may have multiple bad cables - I got two Monoprice cables a few years ago and they lost their snug fit within a year, they still work but I need to let the cord hang off the side of a table if I do not want the data or power connection to break. The original cable still works perfectly in any orientation)
- the USB port on the device (could be from wear or pulling/angling/torquing whatever is plugged in the USB port. You could theoretically buy an identical USB connector and replace the connector only, which is what people do with the 2013 N7 since the USB/power board assembly can cost over $100 to replace)
- the USB/audio ribbon cable being loose or broken, most likely at the motherboard connector for the 2012 model. If you want to replace that, the 2012's flex cable is relatively cheap at around $15
USB Port
I have replaced the USB port on my 2012 three times so far. They just seem to wear out, and this is without excessive use or abuse. I maybe should start buying them in bulk. They are only $* on Amazon.

6pin USB modificatiin

I recently installed a 8227L unit. on the back there is one 4pin USB port and one 6pin USB port.
According to the pin out here
drive.google.com/file/d/12bPcFU3NChV-zyOzuW3IhEot1Td3Rl8Y/view?usp=drivesdk
The six pin USB provides two separate data lines and shared the power source.
Has anyone made modifications to the cable that the kit provides (a single USB port like the one in the following image) and make it support 2-USB connection on one cable?
drive.google.com/file/d/12q22FjffQS9q6GcjRyC0YTLXAJbvZcH1/view?usp=drivesdk
I am hoping to learn that this modification allows the two USB devices, connected to the head unit can work at the same time.
My plan is to hook up both the front and rear USB dashcams to this USB port, and leave the other USB port ( the one with the four pin cable ) for DAB+ dongle or a USB storage.
Did you try this? Did it work?
It looks like this kind of cable is available from AliExpress:
https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/H0461b1f84cb646aeb177edf6a8fa9069D.jpg
I never seem to be able to download anything from Google drive, it always wants me to create an account. It shows 'page not found' for that one anyway. I'd be interested in seeing that pinout, the AliExpress picture is not on the correct angle to see which wires go where and the URL doesn't link to the actual sale to see if there are any other pictures there.
Could you post the pinout as a picture here in the forum?

Where to buy a replacement device cable

I have an Android head unit I received for free, but it's missing the device cable. The unit has a sticker on the back that says AC-9216B-2+16GB. I was able to figure out what pins were for the battery connection, ground, and accessory. using some clip leads I was able to get it to power up and I found a complete wiring diagram in the settings displayed on the screen. I just need to find the 16 pin connector to be able to use this unit. The clip leads barely hold on and fall off with the slightest movement.
I'll attach some pictures with the device info and the connector.
Any help for where to buy the device cable would be greatly appreciated. It came with the GPS antenna, the backup camera cable, the A/V cable, and the two USB cables. It was just missing the main cable that has the connections for the power, and speakers. It also came with a USB dongle that is supposed to add Android Auto.
I see a lot of posts about this type of unit (8227L) with instructions for how to unlock the bootloader and flash custom ROMs. So if I can find a cable, I should be able to make this unit work pretty well.
You can buy the cable from aliexpress just search for shops:

Podofo
Both sell 8227L devices and you can get the cables from them.

Thanks for the tip. It took a little searching, but I found the correct cable. If you search for "XY AUTO Android Solution Interface" They come right up. The power cable was only $1.82. I ordered two since I was paying almost $5 for shipping. Of course they will take a month to get here from China.

Xtrons PSF7FSFA - intermittent USB connection issue

Hiya, new to forum. Done a search and couldn't find any specific help for my issue.
I have an XTRONS android 12 headunit specific shape for a MK4 Ford Mondeo. Model number is PFS7FSFA_B.
The issue I have is with the USB cable and android auto. I had issues with the stock software for screen mirroring in that it needs an Internet connection (better than a mobile hotspot I've read) to validate or something. Couldn't get that to work. Some googling found me the HUR Headunit Reloaded app.
Paid for that and downloaded it. Managed to get it all setup and working. Then after changing screen resolution in the HUR app it would no longer see that I connected my phone. It would charge but wouldnt actually connect.
I'm using the red USB cable that plugs into the headunit per the instructions.
Issue seems intermittent as yesterday I got it working after a lot of fiddling, then it stopped. Then I pulled the power to the Headunit and it got going again.
But this morning not working again.
I attempted to download the wireless app to try that but couldn't really understand which device needed the hotspot running on it as the instructions were a little ambiguous.
Phone is a pixel 7 pro.
Where should I start looking to troubleshoot this issue. OR are these units just junk in the first place?
Any help appreciated
For reference the USB cable I'm using is brand new, high quality braided cable, data transfer on other devices is fine as I checked, I also tried a couple different cables to the same avail. Leading me to think it's either a software issue in the headunit/app or an actual hardware issue?
Evening update on my USB woes, its now stopped charging the phone at all, it does register that I have plugged the cable into the phone, but when I check the "battery app" on the phone it does not show that its charging.
There were 2 USB cables in the box with this unit, a 4pin plug with a red USB socket, and a 6pin plug with a black USB socket, all the info seemed to point towards the red one labelled mirror link that I need to use. Can anyone confirm if this is correct? Do the 4/6pin plugs work differently or have different power outputs or something?
