Can I suggest you to use Google or a another browser and type your request "smartwatch with calling feature".
You can add, if you want iOS or WearOS 3
I'm sure that your browser will delivers to you a lot of answers.

Most Samsung Galaxy Watch's have an LTE model with an eSIM.

Configure/force android beam to use wifi direct instead of bluetooth?

I love the concept behind android beam: sharing videos, pictures with other nfc phones , nfc enables the connection between the devices and then the transfers are made via BLUETOOTH wth google, is ridiculously slow , so samsung knew better and they making the transfers via wifi direct halleluhjah! the horrible thing is that they named their sharing service sbeam (like we need more branding) and its only for galaxy s phones with ioswiz, i mean touchwiz is there a way to make android beam on the nexus work only with wifi direct (like samsung does) ?
someone have a Galaxy S phone we can just rip the apk from maybe? seems like the simplest solution??
then it's just a question of dropping the apk on both devices and giving it a test... no ?? I'de be game. not really put the beam to good use yet !
IMO... Google needs to address this for if it is not on every wifi direct compatible device, what good is it?
"I made a video for you. OK, here... wait... ummm, go to http://whatapainindieass.com and download the apk and sideload it. Are you done yet? Ok I'll wait. How 'bout now?"

No, in order to use sbeam you NEED to have touchwiz, thats what i read :crying:
Guess there's no app yet that does this :crying:

There are a couple of apps that will do this, albeit without being initialized by nfc. Search for wifi direct or WiFi shoot.
I agree that such an app would be extremely useful. It would be nice to use NFC to set up a Bluetooth or (even better) Wi-Fi connection between two devices to transfer files.
Some app that runs on all NFC devices (not just Samsung branded ones) would be extremely useful.

There isn't native video calling on Android that I am aware of, Well I have never seen any on models I have used anyways. Use Hangouts/Skype or have a look around the play store.
EDIT: Actually scratch that, I have it on my ROM, contacts > view contact and it'll show video call option
i try that view contacts but i still the same no icon for videocalls

To share live video, tap on Update Status and then select the Live Video icon. You can write a quick description and choose the audience that you want to share with before going live
Exactly, that I know, but when i tap the update status there is no Live Video Icon, altought i have the app updated ! it seems like Samsung doesn't care for their customers. neither in S5 or in Galaxy Tab S 10.5, in none of them i have the Live Video Icon !
there is another app there it seems

Samsung Gear Sport (or S3) compatibility with 6t

I have a 6t and love it and looking to add a smart watch . I really a leaning towards the Samsung Gear Sport (or possibly an s3) over a Wear OS watch. I'm concerned over compatibility with it being a non Samsung phone and certain functionality not working . The main things i'm wondering about is SMS messages, Call info, email coming to the watch. The compatibility page for the Sport shows not compatible with non-samsung android for messaging specifically but i've read others say they had luck w/ it. (although i'm not certain if thats w/ the S3 or Sport). I'm curious if anyone w/ a 6 or 6t has had any experience w/ the Gear Sport (or s3) w/ those features specifically.
Beyond that the big things i am wanting to use is standalone GPS and offline music but dont think i'd have an issue w/ that
any feedback would be awesome! thank you!
i have 6t and gear s3. it works like any other android phones.
havent had any issue yet.
Awesome thank you. So if you get a text or email can you read it on the watch and reply? Incoming call info good too? I wonder if the same works on the sport too since it shows slightly different info on it's compatibility chart compared to the s3

yes, yes and yes
everything works as it should. I have S3 and absolutely no problems pairing and using it with 6T
Everything works as expected
I changed my S8 for an 6T and I don't have any problems with my Gear Sport. If you didn't bought a watch yet, I would suggest to go for S3, as Gear Sport doesn't have a mic and a speaker. Not heaving a speaker means that the watch will not ring on i coming calls and messages, it will only vibrate.
thank you both for your input on this! so i was partially hopeful that this would all work w/ the S3 since that compatibility chart shows "limited availability" for non samsung android for messaging and the Sport chart shows "not supported". so maybe its just an outdated chart or we're just getting lucky i guess. Support told me yesterday that w/ a non samsung android and the Gear Sport you'd get a notification that you have a SMS but you wouldnt be able to see who it was from or read it. hoping what you guys reported is the actual norm though! w/ SMS can you read the whole string of text convo or just the new message that arrived? not a big deal but was curious. I like the look of the S3 better but really like the waterproof part of the Sport. i'm not sure the speaker/mic is a big thing for me or not as i'd be fine w/ just vibration (as long as its sufficient)
I'm using Gear sport with OP6T and I don't have any issue.
I have the Gear S3 and everything works fine, but I should mention that I use Textra for SMS, not the crap default messaging app. I can read the full message and reply with quick replies or voice to text.

thats a good thing to note....i remember someone else saying they use textra too. would anyone be willing to test using the default messenger to see if that works as well? no biggie if you dont want to mess with it
and just to make sure i'm on the same page you get gmail notifications and you can read them as well? (thats not as big a deal really as reading an email on a watch might be annoying). the sms and phone is bigger i think
thank you again for everyones help!
No issues with the OP6T & my gear 3 frontier.
Samsung pay, all functions I use work perfectly.
Awesome thank you everyone! And I assume you just needed the gear app to make it work? Is anyone willing to test with the standard Google messenger just to see if that works?

I have the Galaxy Watch (46mm version) and the OP 6t McLaren Edition and both are working well together with no issues. As long as you install Galaxy Wear App and use it to sync to the watch it will all work correctly. Good luck.

perfect thank you! i think i'm going to go with the Gear Sport which is tizen 3.0 vs 4.0 thats on the galaxy watch but sounds like that should work ok too hopefully. I knew i'd need to do the gear app on my OP so no biggie there. I wonder why Samsung has not supported for messenging for the sport for non samsung android. maybe just outdated info
I got my Gear Sport and working great with my 6t! one thing missing is the Messenger app on the watch. I do get notifications for new texts and i can reply but cannot see past messages or the whole thread like it supposedly let you do w/ the messenger app. From what i gathered a lot of others are having the same issue and they used to have it sounds like. I'd bet its because its not a samsung phone so they stripped that feature from non -samsung which is super lame. is everyone else seeing the same thing?

Do you use Android Auto in your vehicle? Sometimes when I receive a call, my Gear s3 will take the call instead of my vehicle. Then in the speaker menu I can only see Bluetooth of my Gear s3, but does not show more that one Bluetooth option. It's frustrating. If I turn my watch off, it goes back to my vehicle. Once in a while it works fine, but I can't rely on it working.

Question Enable Auto Phone Call Recording

Hello to everyone,
I hope someone could help me, i need to record any phone call that i make/receive, the phone should record the call without messages to the caller about the phone call is recorded.
Did someone can tell me how can i do this? i have seen that one option is to root the device but if someone have other suggestion is better for me than root the device.
I have also tried this app: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...cord-phone-calls-from-the-phone-line.1441643/ but use the microphone so sometimes there are very noise.
Bye

Yes. I am in the same situation. The only things I can think of are, 1. A call recorder app. or, 2. Using a different dialer, say from a Oneplus phone. But I'm still looking into it. I have been using a call recorder app that seems to work somewhat okay but not that great.
I Hope Simeone could help US..
I have also seen that changing the phone app Is not the solution because some apps uses CSC

That's good to know because I was going to try it. The thing is, depending on what version you have, call recording is built in. So that tells me that all variants could have it built in maybe ? Not sure but I am continuing to do research when I have the time.
Yes, I think that every android phone have this functionality, the problem is that phone app use CSC to enable o not, this is what I have understand

I know that on some newer OnePlus phones you can change the dialer to get call recording. I would think that the Nothing Phone would be similar but at this point I'm totally unsure.

Correction. I tried to install just the joneplustools. This one is different.

Not really. I do have two apps installed that are recording calls pretty good ! One of them I installed from Google play called Call recorder. And the other one is one that I came across in one of the posts for the Nothing phone. I have both running at the same time and both are recording calls pretty good. However, I would rather have the inbuilt option.
I'm from Italy and have Nothing Phone for a couple of weeks now so I may be missing something.
I've tried ACR, a well thought app for call recording, but unfortunately it doesn't record bluetooth calls (earphone or car's) so as a couple of other apps. I guess it's a problem that every third party app is having, given Google policy.
So, I'm using the Google phone app call recording utility (upper right corder three dots > settings > call recording). This option has popped out the first time I put in the sim card. I suppose everyone can access this option but with Google you never know...
This makes available a button on the phone screen, a switch between call recording and not recording. Actually, it's only manageable when the call is started and it's available switching in the second screen of the app.
Overall it works pretty well, even on Bluetooth calls. The calls are accessible via the call log history and can de saved. The only drawdown is that you have to put a meaningful name to the file when saving it.
What drives me CRAZY is that it doesn't have the option to ALWAYS record the calls. Apparently, it's an available option (Google has a help page dedicated: https://support.google.com/phoneapp/answer/9803950?hl=en) but not for the Italian version. Or at least for my version
Does anyone know if and how I can make it a permanent choice? I don't want to manually switch it every time...
Any help is very appreciated
