500GB 2015 Shield TV Won’t Boot - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My 2015 500gb shield no longer boots. I can access recovery, but when I try to do a factory reset it just hangs. I’m thinking the HD is likely corrupt. If I want to pull the HD out and replace with a 2.5mm SSD, cloning likely won’t work if the original drive is corrupt right? So can I download recovery from NVIDIA and flash it onto a the new SSD and boot? The instruction is not clear on how to flash recovery image onto a new SSD without cloning.

Formatted internal memory - no boot

I have recently wished to install a NORMAL GNU/Linux distro (Debian specifically) on my Android T230. I booted TWRP, opened the terminal and erased /dev/block/mmcblk0. I created a new MBR/Partition Table, and new partition, of type ext4 (using fdisk). There, I pushed Debian files, using adb. I installed them on that partition. Then I set up GRUB (arm-uboot), and installed it in the MBR. I rebooted the system, but it did not boot normally, recovery nor odin mode. It does not even look to turn on (if you know the difference between the powered off screen and whole black screen, it's powered off).
I have some questions:
Is there a way to do that. other than buying a new one?
The warranty was void already. If I brought it to a Samsung service and paid a bit, would they accept it? Would they make it boot or factory reset it?
Can I recover it by connecting it to a PC somehow?
What is exactly happening?
Was Odin Mode SERIOUSLY on internal memory card???
What GRUB should I install if not arm-uboot? arm-efi? Or what bootloader is T230 using?
Can I recover the package files/stuff?

that is for the 2015 shield the 2017 shield is completely different. sounds like you bricked it.
I brought mine in Nov 2016 with the old remote. I don't think it is the 2017 model
Is there any other means of putting the restore image on e.g taking out the drive and connecting it to a PC?

[help] adb doesn't see my shield

Hi guys I manage to brick my shield (2017 16gb on latest Oreo 7.2.3) I unlock the bootloader, flash twrp and lineage os as well gapps but the rom doesn't boot as it should it keep boot looping (I forgot to do the wipe but the system was clean anyway becouse I unlock the bootloader 5 minutes before..) I was not able to launch the recovery too. So I try to flash the twrp again... the result was bad. Now restarts to the nvidia logo and boots again. I'm able to put it in fastboot (Using A+B on the joystick plug and unplug and plug power cable) but the pc no longer see shield. Adb device's doesn't show it. Device manager says only Android device - Android Fastboot. Any Ideas how to make the pc to see it again. I have installed all the drivers and everything. Any option I give from the recovery ceep restarting the device endless.. I download the official nvidia shield recovery rom for my device but without seeing it in adb is worthless. Any Ideas ?

Shield TV (2019) boot loop, unable to load recovery image or factory reset

As the tile suggests I have a 2019 Shield TV (Tube) which is currently stuck in a boot loop. The Shield was bought from an auction website as faulty, so hoping I might be able to salvage it. This model does not have a USB port (can't use ADB utility) but has an SD card slot to load any firmware files.
I am able to get into the fast boot menu, both safe mode and factory reset still result in a boot loop
I have loaded the latest Andriod TV Recovery OS image v8.2.0 from https://developer.nvidia.com/gameworksdownload onto a FAT32 SD Card
Using the Android Recovery Menu I am able to load the image from the SD card but it fails verification with an error "Failed to verify package compatibility (result -19): No device manifest file from device or from update package." The installation then aborts
I get the same error with ealier versions of the Recovery OS
In the Android Recovery Menu I have also tried both 'wipe cache partition' and 'wipe data / factory reset' but issue still exists
Any other options available?
This should work with the factory OS image for the non-Developer model. Ask nvidia support for it. Dont say auction etc its their responsibility to provide right to repair.
recovery os image is the one you want.

Fire HD 10 (2017) Deleted System Partition and Reboot - Stuck in Amazon Logo Loop

Hello all together,
i tried to install lineageOS 16 with success on a Fire HD 10 (2017) but at the end i had the problem to have no space for the Gapps. So i decided to Resize the partitions with no success. At the end i wanted to delete and recreate the System Partition when i was in TWRP RecoveryMode.
After Deleting the System Parition with "parted" i rebooted and that was a big mistake. Now i am in a Bootloop and don't know how to get in Fastboot or RecoveryMode.
Here in the board is mentioned that i have to opened it. Now the Fire HD is opened in front of me at my Desk but i don't know what to do.
Can you help me?
Best regards
Goschi
Ugh.. just did something similiar.. rooted with kingoroot, installed twrp apk, manually pushed recovery.img without unlocking bootloader, now my suez is stuck on fire logo.. were you able to figure it out? I can access adb sideload in default recovery thats about it... obviously factory reset does nothing for me
same here was working fine left it alone for a few days and I'm in the same boat.
starting to look like no one can help
