General question about android tablet.
allow installing from other resources is enabled .
but installing any apk never finish, it keep saying "installing"
Is there an android process or security module that can be disabled to let the installation finish ?
You have to look at the logcat to say why it won't install.
P.S. This is not really a hardware question.

I've been starting to cook my own rom under Clockwork, but ran into trouble when putting apps into system/app. They aren't installed on boot, because they aren't from a trusted source.
*SwypeInstaller, for example, is given through e-mail by the swype team, but cannot be cooked, as it doesn't come from the market (need "allow untrusted sources to be ticked)
*I understood signing isn't enough, and that a custom certificate is needed?
I'd like to know how to do that kind of stuff, in order to batch-cook some roms, and to avoid manual install or titanium install or recovery install of system apps.

I'd need a very simple explanation, i know how to use adb for example and zipsigner and stuff, but i'm not really into the Linux thingie

Up! I really need help on this one, i can't cook swype installer on my personal rom updates :-(
I'm hoping the flamers will be very gentle on me....
I know very little about command prompts and such and have managed to follow the directions to get my NC rooted using the latest manual nooter and even got my market fixed following the directions so all apps show up. I CAN follow directions, just having a hard time wrapping my head around the different acronyms and such.
Anyways, to my point. I can get angry birds and a few other apps to install. Also, whenever I try to install the Amazon appstore I get an error saying only "For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not obtained from Android Market." I have put the checkmark in the advanced setting to allow the apps to be installed but it still won't install. Am I missing something? Is there a guide that makes sense out there and can break it down to me what I'm missing?

is nookcolor tools in /data/app or /system/app?

Since you asked in the right forum, no flames... You have to uncheck and then check that box in order to enable the installation....
I read in a post somewhere (sorry wasn't paying much attention to which one, because I'm on CM7), that there was problems installing certain apps with the SD card mounted after the 1.2 update and manual nooter.....Just something to check out.
I've installed Apk Manager and it keeps saying java not installed. I checked and it is installed. I also deleted java and reinstalled and still a no go. Can someone please give a step by step on how to install and software that I need in order to get this to work.

I am running urukdroid now for a few months and really like it
the other day I installed GOlauncher which i didn't like and un-installed. I guess there is where it went wrong anyway
Now when i start my 101 I cant get anywhere no launcher available and nothing but Stop error ...SO I CANT DO ANYTHING

Now i would like to know how i can reinstall urukdroid or remove the old install !!!
because every time i follow the guide, that worked so good 1st time i installed , I end up again at screen with launcher error.
Steps are as follows
1st part for the install works I copy 2 files it flashes then restart got o dev edition wait for prompt and copy the imagine over to start install .
Process starts and verifies the install files ..and start installing . So far so good
then it want to restart for the 2nd part of install and i just end up at the same error as if i would not be re installing ???
So error process launcher stopped .. screen ??
any advice please
If i only could open the app drawer to start Ultimate backup or something or even market to install a different launcher app but I cant all i get is process launcher error ??

Are ou useing easyinstall or manual? And what version of urukdroid? And IF you can bring up urukdroid rescue menu have you tried fixing permissions or clearing dalvik cache? If you havnt uninstalled the default launcher it should reset it, but if not new installation might be needed
Edit: you can access uruk rescue by pressing volume down when uruk load menu is on screen when waiting for internal/external device, might seem obvious but sometimes it needs to be said lol

So I unfortunately have a unit with crappy wifi and bluetooth hardware that only works 10% of the time. I have sound a hopeful solution here https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...1&postcount=70
the problem is it seems to need a rooted device to run those scripts. So I have been trying to update my device to the Hal9k or malaysk ROMS. My device wont install the ModInstaller.apk no matter what I try. I click install and it just show package installer in the top bar for a sec then goes away and does nothing. I made sure the apps had access to install apks, I have tried moving it into data/apps. I jsut can get the unit to install the APKs to backup and install a new ROM. If I try to run the rom updater from sd and not with the apk backup it gives me an error: 21. not sure if either are related.
Or if someone knows a way i can run a script from the above url fix without updating a whole new rom and just whitelisting it would be so happy! I just want wifi and bluetooth
