Flashing stock to get dual-SIM VoLTE working - Moto G7 Questions & Answers

I'm currently running LOS 16 on a G7, and VoLTE doesn't work (IMS "not registered").
From what I've read, I should flash back to stock, get IMS registered, then flash back to LOS (I'll take that opportunity to update to 19). Please correct me if that's wrong.
My real question is which version of "stock" to use in a dual-SIM setup? My two SIMs are from North America & APAC.
Does it matter? ("Any version of stock will do")
If it matters and I flash one version to get IMS registered for SIM1, then flash another version to get IMS registered for SIM2, will VoLTE on SIM1 stop working?
Second question, if I change operators (within the same country) does this mean I need to flash back to stock again?
I don't understand whether the flash to stock simply gets the firmware needed for VoLTE in place, or whether the carrier does some provisioning which can only be handled by stock. In the latter case, I might have to time the flashing with my travel so that I can get IMS running on each operator's network.

Please help: Using a Verizon 7 EDGE in a GSM market with new SIM?

How do I get a Verizon S7 Edge to recognize a new GSM SIM? I want to use it on another carrier, and Verizon says it's not SIM-locked/carrier locked but when I put in the new SIM, it's not working.
Factory reset didn't work. Would an Odin flash work? IF not, what would?
Thanks. Not sure if I'm asking in the right place.
Flash the U firmware.
Using odin ^^
Depending on which carrier you are flashing to. You can flash the carrier specific file for whichever carrier you want, for example if you want to use it with T-Mobile you can download the T-Mobile Odin and PIT files to flash and it should work fine. Same with AT&T.
Or do as said above and flash the 935U firmware and it'll work fine. Though with this option there's no carrier extras like VOLTE, or wifi calling as far as I know.
I used another Sim on Verizon firmware. Look somewhere in connection settings. There was smthn about which network you want to use Verizon CDMA or GSM. Now i'm on U firmware.
A t-mobile SIM worked fine for me after entering the new APN settings. For best performance though, flash the U firmware to unlock the bands.

Please help me, can't use other carrier sim on G930V

Hi guys, last night I trade in my S6 for S7.
That guy told me the phone is sim unlocked, I just need to manually adding APN and it will work. I am too stupid not to try with my sim.
I am in Malaysia, S7 variant should be G930F, but it's G930V, I tried two different carriers with manually input APN but the signal icon still blank with a cross:crying:
Besides, whenever I change network mode, it will revert to Global.
I can't select network operator too.
Is there any method to get it works with my local carrier? Flash rom from G930V to G930U or change IMEI will works?
flash "u" rom marshamallow..

Flash the "U" unlocked firmware on it. Looks like the phone is locked to Verizon. I would strongly recommend against changing the IMEI because that can add a lot of unnecessary complications.

Can I flash official nougat rom?
Any additional step or modification needed?
I see there are many firmware for different CSC such as XAA, TMK and etc. Which one is cleanest and works better for GSM network?
Currently on Verizon Offiicial Nougat 7.0 G930VVRU4BQC5
phones out of country with other networks, and att USA since note 2 came out.
I currently have s7 too and it travelled with me out of country as well no problems, I get 4g in most places, if not 3g until I can get to fast WiFi.
Ur carrier data bands must not be matching or phones damaged, in my expert opinion.
Once u put other carriers sim u either request carrier to send u apn via text msg where u just open it and it gives u option to save it.
Or the Sim itself will/should have those settings in it. And upon inserting sim then going to where apns are added, u may be able to select it.
A quick Google of bands of ur network can tell u, but I'm optimistic only a very few bands are missing off g930v/g935v
Edit: Yes Verizon phones work on gsm in global mode
There is another option in there LTE/GSM/UMTS
U will have to experiment between global or the one above mentioned, does the trick for me all the time

VoLTE network compatibility list for ROMs

Heyyo, this is a call out for all those users on VoLTE enabled networks if you could please post in this thread which custom ROMs are compatible to VoLTE to help others figure out what ROM and modem firmware they should try.
Please post with the following:
Phone model (x820, x821, x829)
Modem firmware (CN 26s, dev 466D, etc)
ROM name (Slimroms, LOS 14.1, BlackX, AEX, OmniROM, etc)
Tested build date (please submit as month-day-year for eg 10-15-2017)
Country (India, France, etc)
Network (Jio, Orange, etc)
I'll try to maintain a list in the second post to try and make things easier for others with issues so they can hopefully get an idea as to which might suit them best
How to fix radio on custom kernels on LOS:

Phone model: x829
Modem firmware: CN 26s
ROM: BlackX
Tested build date: latest October build
Country: Romania
Network: Orange
All version works fine with VoLTE from V.16s to V.28s on T-mobile USA network.
but I found if one of dual-SIM not compatible LTE, the VoLTE disabled for all
No ROMs (not even stock eui) work with VoLTE in Japan on Docomo network. On some ROMs setting the VoLTE/HD Calling toggle to on has no effect, on others it appears to connect to VoLTE (displays icon in status bar) but calls fail with a server error message.

LTE not working on A2017G with Resurrection Remix - switched from Dutch carrier

Hi everyone,
After switching from the Dutch provider KPN to Vodafone I lost the ability to connect to LTE/4G networks. On KPN in both Stock and RR remix LTE was working perfectly without any problems.
What can be the problem? My first thought is that Vodafone is using different bands than KPN, witch are not supported by the Axon 7. But all the Vodafone bands should be supported.
Is there a frequency band or channel that is somehow blocked a custom rom? Also my device is listed as a A2017U instead of a A2017G, is this an issue? Looking on this forum it seems not really of an issue. I flashed the right Modem in TWRP before installing the ROM.
Is there anyone that knows how to fix this issue?
Hey Maxhuisman,
A few months ago i switched from stock 6.0.1 MM rom to RR Nougat and after that Darkrom and a few others. No matter which kind of bootloaders/bootstacks/modems i flashed, the 4G/LTE data service from Vodafone NL just did not work even even after making sure the right LTE bands were enabled in the free app Network Guru. After asking for advise in a few other treads i was told to go back to a stock or near stock rom.
I am currently on Sl1m's B08 Nougat rom where my 4G+ worked instantly after flashing. I am not going to try other roms for now until i'm 100% sure that vodafone LTE works on those roms.

Really? That's too bad to hear
Thanks for your reply, I guess I have to go back to stock or to Sl!m then. Very strange that it is not working with Vodafone.

How to get VoLTE working on the Samsung S7 Edge SM-G935F?

Hi,
Aim:
The aim is to get VoLTE working so that the phone can work in India on the Reliance Jio network. "Work" as in makes and receives calls through the native phone and messaging apps.
A bit of context:
I have a Samsung S7 Edge SM-G935F.
I am want to use the phone on a network that is 4G only meaning I need VoLTE enabled for the calls and texts.
Currently I am running the XEU firmware, but VoLTE is not working when I use the Reliance Jio sim.
PDA: G935FXXU8ETI2
CSC: G935FXEU8ETI3
If you need more context info let me know.
Questions:
So, basically, I am trying to figure out the easiest, non-intrusive way to enable VoLTE without having to unlock bootloader, root the device, etc...etc. (don't even know if it is possible this way). Anway...
The first question is, can I flash a VoLTE firmware from region/network A and use the phone in any other region/network B? Will VoLTE work? Or is the VoLTE firmware specifically programmed to work networks in a particular region or a single network in a region? For example, can I flash EVR (EE UK) firmware (I think it has VoLTE feature enabled), and use the phone in India on the Reliance Jio network.
( If the suggestion in the first question is not possible )
The second question is, can I flash a SM-G935FD INS (Indian) firmware on the SM-G935F to get VoLTE working? Is it safe to flash an FD firmware to the F variant?
Thank you,
Ray
Hello, you can run Volte and Vowifi having root, you only need to know the operator's data settings for these functions
"Currently I am running the XEU firmware, but VoLTE is not working when I use the Reliance Jio sim." Does it work with another sim? Thats the impression I am getting. If it works with another sim and not your current one then it may be as simple as the phone provider not supporting the device for VoLTE. If it is a problem for all providers then you will need to change to a firmware with a CSC that supports VoLTE.
I'm facing the same Jio VoLTE problem on Moto G7 XT1962-1
