Polycarbonate plastic or specialty fused quartz glasses.
No but you can download the GCam port, config file not necessary, when you open the app, select camera ID4, that will activate the IR camera.

Hi all,
I've dropped my Nexus 4 into water for a second, and few months later it still works fine - except the rear camera. It flickers, randomly chrashes and gets crazy. Some times I manage to take several photos before it goes nuts. Front camera works fine!
I tried flashing clean rom etc. - problem persists, obviously it's not sw issue.
So I ordered replacement module. I installed it immediately and now my camera just force closes. There is no way to open camera app. I tried reinstaling camera app, clean flash etc., everything I could do from software side.
My old camera module works like before so I reverted the change.
Does anyone have experience with changing camera module? Any advice? Broken camera maybe?
My moto g4 plus dropped in water. I dried it completly and it works flawlessly next day rear camera stopped working . I have have tried everything. Hard reset ..New applications.. custom Roms... Open board clean it all and reinstall camera hardware component but all failed. NOW I want to know is there any way to set front camera as my default back camera. It works some time by luck but don't focus. Because flash and camera works simultaneously I can't turn my flash on. When I use a third party application to turn my flash on. It just turns on for a second then again turned off. I know everything else is just working fine. So my Question is there any method to disable my back camera and set my front camera as default so that I can use flash, WhatsApp Web.. etc. I have my phone rooted on Naugat 7.1. Please also suggest hardware solution to fix my damaged camera. Thanks.
Anyone else having issues getting Camera unavailable? I can use third party camera apps and access both rear cameras.
But if I use the stock one and switch to the rear camera I get "Camera Error" Camera Unavailable.
I also had that today for the stock video but trying a second time it worked.
Yea mine just keeps doing it over and over, OpenCamera runs both cameras just fine, but doesn't see the front camera lol, front camera works fine and non-wide rear works fine on stock app.
I tried to run a full KDZ reset, but it doesn't let me refurbish, only upgrade, so if there is something wrong with the files in there, I fear they may not have been fixed.
Have you tried uninstalling OpenCamera and see if it goes away? I had this happen on an older phone, after a reboot it would work, come to find out, another app was holding the camera open
Yea I've tried using a fully reset phone, after digging more it looks like if the camera is in "Selfie Mode" the rear cameras work, but it's like if the selfie camera is no longer being detected by anything.
Recently my front camera got a crack in it, I decided to replace it with a new front camera. After placing the new front camera and plugging in the flex cable I started the device and the camera apps won't start. I have tried testing the camera using the hardware test *#0*# and for both the front and back camera I get an error message reading "The number of cameras is 0"
I have tried replugging the flex cable for the front camera, I lifted the motherboard to replug the flex cable for the back camera in case it came unplugged in the repair process but have had no luck so far getting the cameras to work. Everything else on the device works perfectly except the front and back camera and the iris scanner.
Any help would be appreciated.

is your problem solved?
how?
Unfortunately I was never able to solve this problem and no longer use the S8. I hope you manage to solve it, best of luck.
Hi ,
My speaker at ear was not working due to oil went inside ear speaker. I removed the speaker and cleaned and put it back. Now the issue with speaker is fixed. But Camera and flash light stopped working. Error is "Failed to open " camera. Also YouTube app stopped working.
I tried keeping back side open of and It is working when screws are not inserted. While inserting screws it stops working. What may be the reason for that

Right, I spent the last few days wracking my brain over this problem and similar, so hopefully my solution actually sheds light, and I think in your case it might!
I needed to replace my screen so had to do a full opening. I thought maybe I damaged the motherboard or something as I stupidly had to remove the screen first (not good) so thought the heat I applied did something to the camera module. Nope. Basically, when I put the phone back together the following wasn't working: Camera, Flashlight, YouTube. The camera would fail in safe mode, it would fail in the *#808# hardware check, I did a factory reset multiple times, flashed different stock ROMS (my phone is vanilla and not rooted, so I only used official ROMs)... not a single thing helped. I realised very few posts complaining about the issue actually transparently say they opened their device, for embarrassment or ego, or I dunno, but it was super vague as if the camera/YouTube failed all on its own, which is odd to say the least.
Anyway, in my case, do not tighten the screws tightly when you reassemble the phone. This is part of the problem. Screw enough that it catches and then leave it. Don't screw it any more. Next is where yours might relate to mine in terms of camera. There is a tiny wire that trails from the motherboard (near the vibration motor) down to the loudspeaker. In my case, that wire was getting pinched when I put the loudspeaker module back in place. This is what caused my issues for the most part. So check the wire is seated in the frame outlines where they should be.
TLDR: Check the very thin wire from mobo to speaker - that might getting pinched during reassembly.
I really hope this helps you because it was getting on my nerves that noone suggested it. And if it does not help... I'm sorry... I hope you find a solution soon!
