Hello everyone!
After many complications (not correct wiring, canBus), I was able to install this Android unit, the Chinese are not very helpful! (I don't understand why the Escape model, even though it's a common model doesn't appear in the CanBus list, I chose the Kuga model instead, but..
Here are my problems:
- the steering wheel controls regarding telephony, voice commands, home, it is impossible to make them work, despite trying to get them recognized.
- (and now I don't know why the forward and backward controls have no effect when listening to a piece of music, from the steering wheel or the controls of the Chinese console, while it worked some time ago!) When pressing one of these keys, the same piece of music is played again! (on the other hand with the radio stations, it works).
- the central locking control on the chinese console does not respond as well!

The Chinese answered me as if customers with this same model would have managed to make everything work! that's what they tell me. To be verified!
thanks

Hello, I'm new to the forum and new to missing Android products in general. I have searched and seen that people have had issues attempting using external USB Volume knobs, but have also seen that there may be workarounds.
I am currently waiting on my unit to arrive, and before installing in my 93 F150 I plan to crack it open to install 2 30mm fans and a heatsink (I live in the Southeastern US and do not have working a/c in the truck at this time so I need as much cooling as I can get) I would like to add a volume knob, seeing as with how old the truck is, it obviously does not have steering wheel controls, and I don't want to have to fumble around with the touchscreen while driving. I know that they have a Bluetooth remote that wraps aroubd the steering wheel, but I do not like the design of it and that its battery powered.
I have no issues rotting the device in order to use a USB knob (after I check to make sure it is able to be rooted) as I planned to root it anyways, but I just wanted to see if there has been success with the USB knob with this particular unit
Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance
Most units support steering wheel controls, and you can get remote devices that connect to those. That would be the way I would go if I had a unit without a volume knob. Just search aliexpress for "steering wheel control" and you'll see what I mean

The problem with thosw is that they are either OE replacements for vehicles (my truck didn't come with these back in 1993 lol) or are wireless bluetooth. Problem with Bluetooth is that I have to worry about battery life (or wire up a circuit to power them) and have to worry about lag. Not to mention that they look funny unless you use a steering wheel cover. At that point, I'd probably swap a steering wheel with factory controls from another model and attempt to get the joying unit to recognize it as such through their factory steering wheel control integration, but this, again, would require making custom circuits and hoping it all integrates properly, as well as not looking too out of place.
With a USB knob, I could drill a hole and mount it behind the gauge surround and have it right within reach while driving.
I gueas I'm just odd and super picky about my stuff lol
Did you manage to get the USB volume knob to work with HU? Thinking about doing the same.
Hi everyone, I hope to be writing in the appropriate section.
I bought an 8227L android car radio:

And I have a Toyota Yaris II series:
This morning I successfully mounted the 8227L stereo in my car
- http://imageupper.com/s12/1/6/M1568803747176376_5.jpg
and everything works fine except the steering wheel controls.
The old original car radio (where steering wheel controls worked) was so connected:
And when mounting the new autoradio 8227L, I just inserted the cables in the appropriate adapters.
The fact is that as soon as I enter the steering wheel configuration menu, I press START and select a command to associate with a physical steering wheel button, I get an error:
even trying to reboot:

I still get the same error.
Can u help me in some way? Thank u all in advance!
As a first step, I would put a voltmeter onto the sense wires while pressing each of steering wheel buttons- to confirm that different voltages are available for the head unit to learn
This wil prove or otherwise that the wiring is in order.
Hi Pxdev,
First of all thank you very much for your attention.
At the moment I do not have the possibility to use a voltmeter, however I am sure that the steering wheel controls work (tested up to a few hours before the installation of the new radio) and also the installation of the new radio has simply consisted in disconnecting the 3 connectors ( http://imageupper.com/s12/1/6/M1568803747176376_4.jpg the blue and the two whites) visible in the picture and insert them in the appropriate adapters of the new car radio and insert a single connector in the special housing and everything worked, except, of course, for the steering wheel controls. Is there anything else I could try to do? Many thanks in advance.
Hi,
Have you bought it with the Canbus and cables for your car? I have the exact same unit and the steering wheel works well.
I get the same error , found a video saying ground one wire to radio ground and any one key wire ground radio but doesn't work. If anybody has any solution or troubleshoot guide please let me know .
Checked voltage , voltage from headunit around 3.5v , checked resisitance from each key shows different value for each key. Now what to do?
Did you find a solution to your problem as I'm having the same problem with mine. Same head unit with a Raise can bus installed. The steering wheel controls worked fine when I first bought the car but I decided to delete some of the unused apps and since then the steering wheel controls don't work. I can't even remember the name of the app I deleted. Any help would be grateful.
Hello all,
I'm having trouble finding a solution to this, not sure if this is where to ask but its worth a shot. I have an Intel Airmont Joying head unit, the one with physical buttons. Its running android 8.1 I believe. I use apple carplay through Zlink. I also use joyings universal steering wheel controls add-on since I dont have built in ones (I cant post links yet but google those exact words to find it, its a circle lookin thing) . I'd like to be able to map it to Zlinks controls (siri, left, right, home, etc), but I'm unable to. Under Joyings built in steering wheel controls mapper I can map it to universal play/pause etc for the head unit itself, but when I enter the Zlink control learning they dont work. Any ideas what to do? Apologies if that was confusing, I can clarify if needed. Thanks!

Hi, I buy android12 HU with MTK8667 for BMW F20. Now in the factory setting select Canbus as Zmyt is can connect with Drive already.
But have problem is when select source from Android screen (touch screen) can't play FM from screen but still use from Drive.
And can't use buttons on the steering wheel for control sound or cheage FM just change mode only.
Problem
- Can't use buttons on streering wheel such as volume +/-, change FM station
- Sound will overlap if playing FM via iDrive and playing music or youtube from android will overlap.
I don't know how the problem is caused by the firmware or the settings, attached the image of the software below, who can help me? If you would like more information, we will be happy to send you information. Because the seller couldn't answer any questions for me.
