Hello,
I'm looking for some help or information thanks
Problem:
I am unable to control volume / brightness / power on my monitor (LG 32UK580) with my android TV box (Tivo stream 4k)
From what I've read this is done with HDMI-CEC, but I don't know how to proceed
These controls neither worked on my mac at first, but I installed github/MonitorControl and it did work,
So, I assume the monitor hardware is able to receive the controls via HDMI
Edited for details

Looking for a remote I can use with my TV (not connected to the internet ) to control smile functions such as channel and volume up and down power and input. Is it possible to download one from the play store or side load one if there is none? I need it to work on a Samsung plasma tv.
I appreciate your help!
I don't believe the Nexus 7 has the required IR Transmitter to accomplish this. If, however, your TV supports Bluetooth, then it very well may be possible if your TV company has released an app to do this.
Hello,
I have ordered an ADT-1 from eBay and I have a question about initial setup. I have connected my ADT-1 to my TV via HDMI, the network connection via Ethernet, but I'm trying to figure out how to set up going through the on-screen menu.
On my TV screen, the first screen are language options - if it came with a remote, I would just press "OK" and I assume it would prompt me through everything. I have tried installing the "Android TV Remote Control", but it seems to install on my Galaxy Note 3, it detects the ADT-1 on the network, but then the app continuously crashes making the remote unusable.
I guess my question is how, or what do I need to go through the initial setup of the ADT-1 on my TV screen? Do I need to break out my Logitech remote from the basement and see if the ADT-1 is in its database? Or is there another way to set this up through the OSD?
Thanks in advance
I just purchased the Shield TV remote to replace my broken Nexus Player remote and the volume control doesnt work because NP has it locked. Any ideas how to unlock it so I can use the remote to change volume?
Since it has HDMI digital output only, the volume is at your playback device, e.g. TV side.
Has nothing to do with HDMI. The Chromecast & Shield are also HDMI only. It's locked down by Google who thought it was a great idea, it's not.

It is. By having the volume control on the analog side preserves the full fidelity of audio as much as possible. Doing so on a digital audio path reduces effective bit-depth of the audio as well as dynamic range. Almost all HDMI source devices have locked volume control (cable box, DVD/BD players etc.).
I got the volume control working by installing the android 6.0 Image from zulu99.

Hello All,
has anyone got the TV controls for the new remote to work on the Firetv box Second generation? Weird that its not supported. I can pair it but cant control my TV? any work around?
You meant you can pair but can't control the Fire TV right? Its very sad that Fire TV 2 isnt compatible. Is it the Fire OS Version? Maybe we need Fire OS 6 for the new remote control to work?
Yes very sad! Theres no way to load fire os 6 on the fire tv 2?
I bought a fire tv stick 4K this week, because keeping the remote and selling the stick seemed to be cheaper.
I can confirm, that you can pair the new remote with the FTV 2 box.
In order to get the remote buttons for volume etc. for your TV set to work, you first have to configure the remote on an officially supported device. I did the complete installation procedure on the stick.
Obviously the infrared code of your TV is saved on the remote. When I connected it to the FTV2 box afterwards I could still control the TV (mute, vol +\-, power works).
Known issues:
- Voice search doesn’t work
- Remote loses connection when box goes into sleep mode - Box doesn’t wake up by pressing any button (Box is put into sleep mode when i power of the TV by pressing the fire remote power button)
- Remote loses connection from time to time.
I’m not sure wether the connection problems depend on my box (rooted, fw 5.2.6.6). Had similar issues with my Xbox-Controller some time ago, which I had to re-pair after every restart of the box (before it worked flawlessly with auto-by-connection for some weeks).
Greetings to everyone!
I was wondering about something and i was thinking here is the right place to ask.
In our company we have multiple Android TVs ( SONY Bravia ).
Is there any app on PC that allows control of multiple TVs connected in LAN?
As far as i know, functions are available even if TV is turned off. ( at least to power it on ).
I am thinking of basic functions like, power ON/OFF. Volume adjustment.
