Galaxy Tab A Stuck on lock pattern - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

Hi,
My son has enabled lock pattern on a SM-T590 device and don't remember it. Is there a way to remove it?
I try software like wondershare; 4ukey... without sucess
thanks

Factory reset.

I try the factory reset from recovery menu but the factory reset option doesn't appear. Only wipe cache.
I remember that in the past on older devices, the option was "wipe cache / factory reset"

Also try to put TWRP with ODIN but OEM LOCK is on :-(

The pattern lock is quite limited. I would swipe along untill i ran into the right one

quite limited? there is a lot of schema possible. Try hundred of them without success :-(
So the conclusion is if I can find the good schema by luck, to put the tablet in trash?

[HELP]Can't remove Account and Factory Reset

Dear Master of Spica,
I bought Spica from my friend and it was original (unroot), but I couldn't remove the old account also add the new one. I've tried to cleared data and reset, but it was forced close, and the data still remain. I tried reset from recovery mode, but I could not enter the recovery mode, only blank screen, but when I released the buttons, it began to boot. Please help me to solve the problem, thank you very much
Sent from my HTC Magic
Recovery is only aviable after rooting AFAIK
Go to Settings->Privacy and try factory reset there (name in setting can be different, I use polish)
or
open Phone and input
Code:
*#*#7780#*#*
You will be asked to reset the phone. This will not delete any files from SD card.

[Q] Stuck at "Enter your password" screen

Hey guys....i really do need help on this.
i've manually flashed ACER_A500_4.010.41_COM_GEN1 update.zip on my a500, when finished and rebooted, a screen asking me to enter a password appear but i don't know the password.
I've read through the forum and tried almost everything suggested;
1. Hard reset / soft reset - nothing happened
2. Revert to HC3.0.1 using APX - unable to go into APX can't set the tab into usb debugging.
3. Flash HC3.0.1 update.zip - can't flash, droid with yellow triangle.
Any idea/suggestion?except to send the tab to acer support.
Thanks
apparently the only way to fix this is to completely wipe ALL your data/cache
if you have the unlocked boot loader then see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969106
if you have stock boot loader then the only way is to use the toggle rotation lock method....its fiddly to get right bit tab will display text wiping use data and cache when u do...keep trying
Alright, finally able to erase userdata via fastboot, which i've discovered after posting this. now the tab is back in business.

Unlock S5 Lockscreen without internet connection

Hi everyone,
Sorry if this has been answered before but I've done some serious searching and can't find anything. I've found my old S5 to which I've forgotten the lockscreen pin. I would normally reset it using my Google account but I no longer have a sim that fits nor can I set up a new WiFi connection without access to the settings.
The device is not rooted nor do I think ISB debugging is enabled.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks, I should have made a note that I'm hoping not to have to reset it. I'd much rather be able to access it to see if I have left anything important on there.
If you flashed TWRP you might be able to wipe the security via recovery - but the security is there to prevent exactly what you are trying to do, so it won't be a couple of buttons to press
iirc, you have to adb in from recovery or something, but never done it myself
Flash TWRP with ODIN and have a google on removing lock screen security from TWRP
Or buy a SIM for £1 and top it up £5 (Or whatever your countries £ is
EDIT - Could give this a try

Make a backup in TWRP first (Could always restore the data side of the backup with TiBu after resetting which would ignore the lock I imagine)

[Help needed] Phone will not boot after getting pop-up message

Update: *SOLVED*
I got a strange message that popped up on my phone this morning. It stated "It's gonna rain. Take a umbrella with you". It stayed on top everything else and wouldn't go away. I thought that it could possibly be one of my weather apps and got stuck, so I rebooted. After that point, it gets to the Google loading screen animation and never passes. After subsequent reboots, it does the same thing. I am able to get into TWRP recovery though.
Does anyone know what be causing this and/or how to remedy it? Might it be some type of malware? I have attached a screenshot of it.

Thanks for the link! I do have GO Weather installed, and I have no issue with getting rid of it. Although, I'm unsure how to do that since I can't boot. Any recommendations?

well, since you can boot in twrp you can do a factory reset.
safe mode is a better idea but i dont think you can boot into safe mode without starting the phone.
here are the steps but i dont think it will work so try to delete dalvik and cache from recovery, if that didnt work I think factory reset is the only option unless someone has a better idea
Make sure your device's screen is on, then press & hold the Power button.
In the box that opens, touch & hold Power off.
You’ll see a “Reboot to safe mode” box. Touch OK.
Your device will start up in safe mode. Try using your device normally. Remember, you won’t be able to use any installed apps

I tried clearing the cache and dalvik earlier, along with deleting the GO Weather app files, but that didn't help. I thought about safe mode, but I don't see a way to do it without already being booted to Android.
What if I dirty flash the same stock 6.0 ROM I'm using? I'd like to keep files and apps intact, so I'd prefer to not perform a factory reset, but will if I exhaust other options.
I just realized that I never came back here to update on what happened. I wound up booting into TWRP recovery, connecting to my PC via USB, backing up any data that I needed, then factory reset. That took care of it. Luckily, that also cleared up some other minor, but annoying, issues I was having. Needless to say, I haven't been and won't be using GO Weather EX any longer.

Bootloader and Pin screen

alright i successfully rooted but whenever i restart my phone it shows up both the bootloader screen and the enter pin screen. How do i remove those screens to just go straight to my lock screen?

The 'your phone can't be checked for corruption' message can be removed, but you risk black-screening your phone and I still fon' know how people recovered from this. Don't try, I tell you.
And the PIN i dunno, but I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with encryption. Try to format data from TWRP (NOT just wipe, use the button that says Format data, that is right beside the Advanced Wipe one), but you'll lose your internal storage too. Or just wait for someone that knows more than me to respond on this matter. I'm sure the PIN screen will disappear after you do that, but maybe there's an easier way.
Nope...you need to wipe your data to get rid of the pin screen...
Hope you backed up anything irreplaceable...

Wipe or format? Usually wipe doesn't do anything to encryption
I just factory reset m,ine through recovery after unlock... That worked...
