Confirming Head Unit Type - Android Head-Units

Hey all, I installed an Inav Android 10 unit on my BMW. Just wondering how I can confirm the unit type, as I see there are many sub forums here and want to make sure I post in the correct one. I looked through the settings on the unit and all I see is:
MCU Version: I believe this is the version for my OEM radio interfacing, in my case NBT.
APP Ver: Begins with Ksw-Q
Model: says msm8953 for arm64 I know this is the chip version in the unit.
Not sure where else to look. I am looking to upgrade my Zlink to the latest version for my unit, and also try to restore the bluetooth functions as it has been crippled by the manufacturer of the unit, and i have trouble connecting the wireless carplay and getting sound out properly.

How to change the radio app on an Android head unit

I have bought a non branded Android head unit and would like to change the radio app cause it is way too colorful, I have no idea what as the to do and where to start if anyone can help. Thanks alot, also it looks like my head unit won't connect to my hotspot at all times, I have to turn WiFi off then on for it to work.
Anyone?
wolf1306, "non branded" does not say enough to be able to give an advice. Please post your device data which one can find under Settings -> About tablet (or alike).
As to WiFi hotspot - I had similar experience with Joying 4G/WiFi dongle. Replacing it with Huawei E8372 helped to completely forget about any problem (same SIM).
Android 4.4.4
Could cortex A9
GPU mali-400 mp4
1024x600
So it is not similar to Joying (Intel Atom x3) and using Joying's FWs and additional soft like Radio mods is, as I believe, unlikely. Hope other brand/make users could give further advice.
I have the same prpblem.
In my case the android head unit is a "non branded" chinese one.
- Model Number: AC 8227
- Android version: 5.1.1
- Kernel version: 3.4.35
- MCU version: IAP36/CM02.00.00.02_161223_15:24
As I have googled, tha radio app is linked with the MCU version. As far as I know, you must install a radio app that works with you MCU.
So it is not easy...
Anyone hace ideas?
Thanks in advance

Xtrons TR100

Processor type- UltraOcta-T8
Android version- 7.1.2
MCU- 5.3.19-94-84-E06101-180111
System ver- v9.2.2_20180314.153952_TW2-FD
I have the Xtrons tr100 which has been a very great upgrade from the last unit I had, especially the sound quality. The only problem I'm having is an issue with the bluetooth which will not connect to my obd2. When i search for bluetooth devices the obd2 does show up, when I press and hold on obd2 3 options pop up which are ok, obd2, and cancel. I tried all options with no success. I went into the extra settings and chose bc6 and/or bc8 with no luck. Anything elee I'm missing or could try?
Hi, Your unit appears to be an allwinner unit and so posting in the android auto forums you might not get a response. Here's a starter for you:

Thanks a lot

Hi Marchnz,
you said above that "trigga_b Your unit appears to be an allwinner unit and so posting in the android auto forums you might not get a response." would be better on a different thread why is that?

PX5 strange problem with Bluetooth and WiFI

I have a PX5 HU with Android 8 with MTCE mcu version. Sometimes the HU block wifi (so i can not turn it on) and forgot the bluetooth device name and pin code. I can not connect to the HU from my phone.
So i usually do a Factory reset and it works well for some day or few hours. Somebody got idea what should i do?
This is often caused by MCU issues. You can try to find a fitting MCU file for your device.

How can i find out which mcu i need?
To start with, have a look at this thread about the where: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/comprehensive-updated-mcu-list-for-mtcd-head-units.3476880/
When you know your MCU type, search for it in the Android head unit forum and see what the most recent version is.

PX5 MTCE Android 10 - WiFi Connectivity / Stability Issues

Hi All,
I'm bit new to the world of Android Head Unit who recently purchased a PX5 Android 10 head unit for my Peugeot 407.
After installation everything works fine expect for one problem. WiFi doesn't work.
If I turn ON the WiFi, it finds my network, connects to it, and then immediately the WiFi turns OFF. It keeps turning ON and OFF in loop.
So reached out to my seller who provided a firmware file using which I upgraded my unit successfully. But no luck. WiFi still has the same problem. It keeps turning ON and OFF in continuous loop.
Head Unit Specifications
Car: Peugeot 407
Unit: PX5
CPU: Octa-core Cortex-A53 @1.5G
Memory: 4GB
Storage: 64GB
MCU Version: MTCE_MX2_V3.60_1
Kernel Version: 4.19.111+
Build Number: rk368-userdebug 10 [email protected] eng.hct2.20200909.085823
Bluetooth Module: WQ_RF210 (as pre-selected in the Factory settings in the head unit)
I've attached a video of my symptoms as well. Please can you have a look and advise / point me in the right direction to fix this WiFi problem.
I spent time tracking down the seller for firmware update because I'm not sure how to identify the specific model / manufacturer etc of the unit.
Any advise on how to identify the finer details associated with the Head Unit Model would also be very helpful.
Thank you.

I have a 407 - (2007) - does your head unit allow for aircon and heating/ventilation controls and all the canbus functions?
my orange dispaly is failing so thought I'd install one of these instead
Do you have a link for the one you bought? I've been looking for octacore - most are quad
Thanks

I can't find my exact seller listing but below link is a similar eBay listing for the same model I have got.
Peugeot 407 Android 10 PX5 4-64
Yes, it integrates seamlessly with canbus / climate control etc. It comes with a canbus connector. There's an option to connect reverse camera if you want to. But you have to buy the reverse camera separately. Other than that there's a GPS antenna, built in and extra microphones for phone calls, memory card slot, USB slots etc.
I wouldn't recommend any sellers for this kind of after market head units as they are all sold / shipped by overseas / international sellers. There's always a risk with this type purchases. So proceed with caution. If you end up getting a good unit, the risk is well rewarded. Your Pegueot gets a major upgrade.
All the best!
Thanks!
I've been looking at these ones.
Still undecided
Might just get a new mfd screen & keep using my phone!

Have you guys found any solutions to your canbus problems with Peugeot 407? I lost my automatic headlights / daylights which I'd love to have back. Have you encountered and solved other issues with Android head units?
I can't either enable some car functions from car app from head unit (automatic lights, rear wiper, parking radar etc.). Can you see the outside / inside temperatures of the car somewhere? My A/C works somehow (responses like it should to physical buttons, but I bet it has mechanical faults instead communication problems with head unit).

Hello there,
See this workaround.
Custom ROMs such as @Hal9k_ 's Mod V5 have workarounds for this under Mod settings. In that ROM, go to Mod settings, select "Hardware settings" and toggle on the "Reset USB devices when booting or waking up".

Unknown Android headunit. Who helps?

Hi guys,
I have owned different MTCD headunits (all px 3/5).
For my new car I ordered a 64/4 headunit but it seems like it's a different chipset etc.
As I have a few problems with is and the seller isn't respnding (yet) I'll hope you can help me identify the unit so I can update firmware/mcu etc
Cons:
Biggest issue: GPS is not working. Because of that the time and date are off. If adjusting it manually it stays on the time and date from where the unit gets to sleepmode and won't adjust untill manual adjustment.
I have a annoying humming sound in the OEM subwoofer. It wasn't there with the Kenwood headunit that was installed before this one. Still can't solve it. It also humms when the RCA aren't attached so it seems a power input issue to the amp of the subwoofer. Still figuring out what to do about it.
Pros:
It seems to have wireless Android Auto besides wireless Carplay. It was not advertised but when I put on my hotspot from my mobile, it autostarts Android Auto on the headunit. Very nice!
Bought on Hipzo store (Aliexpress).
CPU INFO: UIS8581A (Octa 1.6GHZ)
MCU: 2021.12.10 15:04:26 NOR_53_L6315_G23P48F64_V:1.0
Android 11 (not sure, seems like Android 10 because of buildnumber)
buildnumber: QP1A.190711.020
System info: APP 1024x600 2021-12-11
Any help is appreciated.
Hello,
Could you share the findings about this head unit?
I have the same head unit, except for CPU and display resolution. I am still trying to understand what is the version which is compatible with this head unit.
Any info is well appreciated.
