Is your S10+ (Snapdragon) heating up quickly? - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Hi!
I've been using the snapdragon variant of S10+ (SC-04L) for a few days now, which is running on OneUI 4.0/Android 12.
It's very prone to heat up, even basic tasks of browsing Reddit for a few minutes heat up the phone quickly.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? If yes is this normal?
My screen resolution is 1440p.

Is this normal on this phone?

I got a Note 4 from my father who was using it since a year. He had occasionally complained of the phone heating quickly but was never that of a great problem. He never cared to replace/fix the issue.
So now I have it. This phone heats toooooooooo much with simple usage! Just a few minutes of Chrome browsing is enough to not being able to use the phone for calls. It's actually the display that heats too much, the back side doesn't go that much (battery isn't the culprit By the way, since it doesn't heat at all).
This is what I got after playing Mini Militia for an hour continuously. I had a few friends play with me on their phone and none of their phone was even close to the neatness this phone generated. The battery went down from 100 to 0 in 2 hours of gameplay. Even though I stopped playing at 10-12%, that remaining charge went off in 5-10 (lesser I believe) minutes while I was checking the gallery.
Whatever ROM I try it's the same case. But sometimes the phone won't heat, that is 1-2 in 10 times.
I think it's obvious that I have a defective phone. Now that it is out of warranty, would it make sense to go and repair the phone? What will have to be changed in order to fix this?
I would flash the stock Samsung rom back onto your device and see if that helps with the heating issue. I have heard that the Snapdragon 805 does heat quite a bit very quickly when doing anything, but not to the point where the device becomes uncomfortable to hold.
No, this is not normal. My note 4 with a snapdragon 805 rarely or never heats up during normal usage (web browsing across multiple apps). Cpu temps are usually below 60c.
I'm also using the s-view case which is slightly thicker than the stock backcover.

Overheating and battery drain

So I have the Snapdragon S7 Edge (AT&T) and I use hangouts probably 80% of the time I'm on my phone. Now when I do, the phone heats up significantly and performance and battery are very effected. Even if I'm just playing a game for 20 minutes or even a phone call, it heats up pretty bad. And I only get about 3hr of SOT. So do I have a defective device or is this normal??
Can't tell for sure, but from what I've read of the snapdragon variant, if anything, it just gets slightly warmer than the exynos, which even gets just slightly warm at heavy games, so I'd say you have a faulty device :/
Especially hangouts shouldn't have any effect on heat as long as you're not making long full quality video calls.

Mine is getting hot too without hardly doing anything. I'd heard that it was going to heat up when charging but this thing gets hot if it's on just browsing the Internet. It also really overheats when taking photos. I really don't want to have to get it replaced since I'm not sure what that will do to the already long wait for the gear vr.
How long have you had your device for? Mine only heated up the first couple of days but now it's almost always cool to the touch. The only time it gets warm is if I'm using the Gear VR.

How hot is your galaxy S7 edge

Hi
So I bought my GS7E a week ago .. I started to notice that it heats so much when I use it
I just don't know if this is the normal heat for it or not so I wanted to know from your experience
so at normal base when I'm not using it it stays at 34-35C
When I use it for whatsapp, facebook an normal light use it goes up to 37C
when I charge it it goes up to 40C
and sometimes when it's in the car on in my pocket and nothing is running in the background it can go to 40C too
that makes it annoying to receive calls or to hold it and put it next on my ear
are these temperatures OK? or is there is something with my device ... what are your numbers
Oh that seems in my opinion to be too hot, Mine is in Idle at 28°-29°, when i Use it (WhatsApp, Facebook... etc.) at 30°-32° and when i Charge it it is around 33°-35°
According to AIDA64, my phone is currently at 42c whilst charging from flat.
It's certainly warm, but at one point I saw it hit 50c when charging and using the phone at the same time.
what is the temperature when using normally not whilst charging ?
what is version is your CPU ?
I have the Exynos Version
It ranges from 33-37C
I have the Exynos S7 Edge. Mine at normal temperature ranges between 25 and 28 degrees, but can go as low as 22 degrees if not used for a bit (I have Greenify set to close all non-essential apps on sleep). If I'm doing some basic activities like texting, taking a few snaps on the camera or browsing simple web pages, it will go up to between 29 and 33 degrees. If I use it for gaming, depending on the graphics, it will go up to between 34 and 38 degrees. I've never seen it hit 40 degrees, although I reckon if I pushed it with numerous benchmarks or an hour of playing Real Racing 3 it probably would.
Temperature wise, this thing is fantastic, the best phone I've ever owned. Under ten minutes on Minecraft on my old Note 3 and it would be uncomfortable to hold. I've never had that with the S7 Edge, although I can't speak for the Snapdragon variant, which I've heard doesn't handle temperature as well.

Moto G5 Plus heating issues

Hi, For past couple of days I'm experiencing intense heating issues, all I've been using is social media apps barring youtube. Not sure what can be the trigger. Be it on Wi-fi or network service provider. (Jio) TIA.
That's kind of odd....
I just received my G5 Plus and after setting it up last night and literally spending quite a few hours on it setting it up, I never experienced any heating issues...
I'm wondering if maybe you have a bad phone?
Do you have your brightness set really high or anything? I know on my LG phones I've had if I end up using the brightness quite high the screen gets really hot... And then of course just destroys battery life... But that was for my LG G3 and LG V10...
The phone does heat. I noticed the back part warming mostly when using Google+, the app kept crashing and the phone heated quite a bit. It also heat up when charging but i assume that's due to the turbo charging going on. Other than that my unit kept the temperature satisfactory. My experience may change along time but that's what i noticed with two+ weeks of use.

S7 edge Exynos optimal temperatures

I've noticed in the past how hot my phone gets, browsing Twitter or Facebook while having YouTube in background gets my CPU temps to 60°C and the battery to 40°C (being under a blanket + with a phone case)
But it does get really warm often, is that normal? My S7 edge recently got repaired and I don't want it being broken again
So are these optimal or not?
Also: my touchscreen and back gets VERY hot then
Is this version 8.0 Oreo?
