It's not just when you root, they count the unlocked bootloader, so yeah you just can't use it anymore.

Yes locked

when you unlocked the bootloader, the flag of Know came into the value
0x1. It means that you cannot use Samsung firm apps, and this value cannot be restored or changed

Reactivation Lock not working after root

hello guys,
I rooted my Note 4 SM-N910C yesterday, and everything was fine until now. I saw that reactivation Lock(can't flash via odin when it's on) was off, so I tried to turn it on, but it was not working. I tried everything, but without sucess. I tried to flash a stock firmware from sammobile, and after that, it was working, so I rooted again and It's not working anymore.
So, someone knows a way to root and get it working? Did you have this problem too?
help me :/

this is a kernel related, I think. Everybody says that it still working on Snapdragon's Note 4, but here at Exynos, you can't activate it.

I dont think it is that, I have a friend with the same model that us, and the activation works on his phone :s
So, guys, have anyone solved this problem?
I also have rooted Note 4 and neither "Remote controls" nor "reactivation lock" can I activate...
reactivetion lock not working
I also encountered a similar case but only used through l launch , give me one new idea when it dies in it :good:
Guys, has anybody solved this problem?
Here I am, rooted GS5 with MM fw, before root it worked, as it did with lollipop and kitkat.
After root it doesn't turn on anymore, I reflashed stock recovery too. I guess it's related to knox 0x1, with rooted knox 0x0 kitkat and lollipop I could enable it.
Or maybe it's kernel related, so systemless root with stock kernel could be the solution
Good news, after reflashing a stock firmware I could enable RL back. So it's not knox related but root related. Tomorrow I'll try with systemless root

I think what is needed it to copy your stock recovery from an official touchwiz rom and flash it. You will need a tar.gz converter to flash it via odin. Sometime ago I tried it where your root remains but you have a stock recovery. I believe all those Samsung security features like Reactivation Lock relies on a stock recovery and not a custom like ( TWRP/CWM)

I reflashed stock recovery but still no luck. It's root related, or better kernel related, as someone posted above. I'm on systemless root and it shows "warranty bit kernel" message at boot. With rooted lollipop and stock kernel/recovery it worked

Just flash supersu beta via twrp
You must have stock boot.img, I suggest reflashing the entire stock firmware if you did some modifications

Look...i am currently rooted. I have twrp 3.0 and i flashed super su beta. I dont have any modified or special kernels of that sort...just root. So are you telling me all i need to do is flash the original touchwiz boot.img from the marshmallow rom file ( i will have to go convert it to a Tar file) ???.... And that will give me the ability to stay rooted and be able to use reactivation lock again ???

Can we root and activate the reactivation lock now?

Help with rooting Samsung Galaxy note 3 (new thread)

I currently have a Samsung note 3 running Android version 5.0. It has previously been rooted before and then unrooted (because i accidentally bricked it), my question is that. My phone is no longer rooted so can i now re root my phone.
By the way I've tripped knox...
I am from the UK and my phones carrier is EE
Build number: N005XXUGBOA1
Can this actually be done and if so, how would i go about doing this?

I looked at that option but it's saying that my phones bootloader needs to be unlocked otherwise my phone will probably get bricked.
How can I check if my phones bootloader is unlocked or not?

No brick. If you do get into trouble, you can always get into b Download Mode and restore to stock with Odin. Samsung phones ate pretty robust.
If i were to brick my phone how would i restore to stock with odin? Sorry I'm kinda new at this

There's s bunch of videos on YouTube which show you the process. It's quite simple, and I suggest you watch through these to get a better idea of how it works.

Is bootloader unlocked?

Hey all.
I've a question. In GT-i9500, is there the need to unlock bootloader as in Motorola devices before flashing custom ROMs. Or it comes with it's bootloader pre-unlocked?
Would be very glad on your response
Thank You!

in I9500 we can update bootloader and go back to old without problems and we can flash roms without need to unlock
Verizon and AT&T devices usually have locked bootloaders. Everything else should be unlocked.

Then we should first of all unlock bootloader before flashing roms?
Unless the S4 is a US model sold by AT&T or Verizon, which yours isn't, the bootloader will be unlocked. That means being able to update the bootloader, radio, and installing custom ROMs, as previously stated. Keep in mind the following: Samsung does not use fastboot, thus any commands you could use on a Motorola device will not work on a Samsung device. You will have to use Odin.

I-9500 came with factory unlocked bootloader.
If your phone really is i-9500 as you said,
install the custom recovery like TWPR or CWM via odin and
flash the custom rom of your choice via the custom recovery.

l have a question if my i9500 says secure download enabled does that mean its bootloader locked +++
Asked and answered already in this thread. Unless your S4 is an SGH-I337 or SCH-I545 (AT&T and Verizon respectively) your bootloader will not be locked.

hi team
I would like to root my galaxy s8 plus.
(Of course I lose samsung pay and folder securiser by this root).
my question:
* samsung pay and secure file I lose difenitif or becomes after an official flash from samsung?
Once rooted, they're always gone. I could go and explain myself what happens on the background, but this reddit thread got you covered.

Then it's permenantly gone, stock won't bring them back.
All samsung apps are patched in stock based roms, BUT Samsung Pass and Samsung Pay, but everything else works (Secure Folder, S. Health, etc)
If you stay at stock with TWRP tho, yes you will lose everything

if you root, they are gone until a dev figures out a way to mask root at the knox level, which isnt gonna happen anytime soon
If you use Hades or Alexis rom you can use secure folder, samsung health.
