I started to have this weird problem all of sudden on my phone where the screen flickers on different apps, a solid color of thing that's being displayed on the screen comes up from the bottom of the screen which covers up more than half of my screen and sometimes the whole display.
I installed one of the screen filter apps from the PlayStore which fixed the problem by having an overlay on the screen but the brightness has decreased so I am unable to see the screen n bright light(like outside), I can't figure out if this is a software problem or hardware since the screen is perfectly fine when I have an overlay/filter app running in the background.
I have tried resetting the phone, installing a custom rom and disable hardware overlays etc but still no luck
Samsung Galaxy S5
Running CyanogenMod 13.0
SM-G900L
I was surprised about this phone in terms of battery life standby time/battery saving option, how loud the speakers, better than average memory management & general speediness of the UI. But after 3 days of full use at work and at home I noticed some bugs, issues & missing features:
1. Upon SMS receipt when clicking Reply it goes to the messaging centre and not directly within the notification box
2. No option to adjust navigation keys spacing
3. Screen colour adjustment algorithm seem "off"
4. No dark background under Settings
5. No blue light filter option baked in to the drop down quick shortcuts
6. Bluetooth turns on when removing headphones or when turning off Airplane mode
7. No sensor to enable answering of phone when placing near your ears
8. Wifi scanning keeps on turning on when GPS is turned on
9. Own lockscreen wallpaper randomly reverts to the original ones (with different random photos) after a phone reboot
10. No equaliser on music player
11. Choppiness of screen when controlling the brightness
Any comments & advice please.

I think p8 lite because I have got the p8 lite 2017 and never found any of these bugs. Of course, this before rooting and modding.

I am talking about the newer P8 Lite 2017. I am not into rooting or modding so i'm talking about the current software of the device which is Nougat 7.0 / EMUI 5.0. These bugs & issues are non-exhaustive and I may include more as they come. I have been documenting and observing them so these are all 100% true and from someone who owned and used Android for 5 years these could have easily been fixed/patched/updated via a software update.
I have zero problems with this phone, but i also don't care about half of those things you mentioned. Also Blue Light filter is there in dropdown shortcuts, it's called Eye Comfort.

You don't care coz you're arrogant or bullish or you just don't want to know or you are in denial that most of what I said is true?

Woah! Calm your tits. Not everyone experiences the same problems at the same time. Iv been using this phone now for almost a month and I have seen none of these issues, but if I did then I also wouldn't care because they are miniscule.
Sounds like it's a case of your phone doesn't like you. Learn to become one with the phone and the phone will become one with you -wiseman

I don't care if it's true or not, i just don't need those options or i don't use it.. with what i use (calls, internet, camera, apps, battery) i have zero issues.
0 problems with this phone.
No lag here, no gapps (btw)... and [email protected]%. Magisk is the only issue...
If the screen legibility under direct sunlight is poor then the phone is no good for my needs/tasks. If it doesn't last the whole day (based on having the same job, the same number of apps and the same tasks/routine day in & day out for the past 2-3 years) then the phone is not good. If the camera is lacking contrast, naturalness & pooor low light photos then the phone is not for me.
PRA-LX2C636B160 owner here. My observations:
#2 - would've been nice, yes, but minor for me
#3 - Yes. I notice this when using the scheduled eye comfort feature. Sometimes you have to manually turn it off and back on to correct screen colors
#6 - doesn't happen
#7 - would be nice. I noticed that the system has 2 different UI's when answering a call. Sometimes it's the one with the slider, sometimes it's the one with just press to answer. I don't get the logic with this.
#8 - it happens, but not always. I think this will happen on certain conditions, like when turning Location Services on when an app prompts it instead of doing it from the Notif Area. I thought it was a Nougat feature. Which is wasteful, since most of the time there aren't any wifi networks in my area to use as reference. But Google won't give me accurate location results when it's off.
#11 - yes. Noticeable when auto brightness adjustment is on. Manually adjusting is sometimes choppy, sometimes smooth.
I have just purchased the Huawei P8 Lite 2017. However I am having problems with scanning batcodes. It scans QRCODE barcodes (2d batcodes) ok, but I cannot get it to scan a 1D barcode. I know there are lots of camera settings but unsure if this is just a setting issue. Has anyone used this phone for scanning 1D barcodes (eg. CODE39 , CODE128 etc..)

Seems you have some China copy of this device! I bought my Huawei P8 Lite 2015 at official Huawei Center, and all I got is small bugs, and they are care less.
Hi all.
I have a Oneplus 7 GM1900 OS 10.0.1GM57AA.
The phone is working great.
I recently also bought o New Nissan Qashqai 1.5d with A-IVI multimedia system that I updated to firmware ver. 0814. This is the latest...
I'm using the system with phones Android Auto and it's working great.
The problem is that I use the phone in dark mode, and every time I connect the phone and use android auto on the A-IVI system, when I disconnect it or during being connected, the settings and the menus are changed to light-white. And while I see the menus in light-white background, when I get in the menu to change to dark mode, dark mode is selected but the display is white.
So I have to select dark mode again and do all the changes I want to the clock, the tone, the fingerprint etc. from the start. And this is happening every time...
Anyone has a solution for this?
Thanks for hearing and reading my problem-question...
I just installed an Atoto A6 Pro. For about a day, the brightness adjustments were working. It is set up to dim with the headlights and moving the brightness adjuster worked great. Today, I noticed that the screen would not dim when I turned on my headlights. The LED lights on the buttons would dim, however the screen would not change. I tried manually adjusting the brightness through sliding the slider back and forth and nothing is happening. I have restarted the system a few times and that did not work. I have installed Headunit Reloaded and I am wondering if this is what is causing this issue, but I deleted the app and restarted and the issue still persists. Anyone have any clue how to fix this?
What did the reseller suggest?

I contacted ATOTO support and they haven't responded just yet. I bought it directly from Amazon new. I am wondering if it is a software issue because the brightness adjuster doesn't even work.
Hi,
The issue has appeared only in last few days.
- HU is running fine but always appears to be on the lowest brightness setting. It's usable by night but too dim for sunlight.
- If I try to adjust brightness, the UI shows the slider but it has no effect on the screen brightness.
- I've looked for and disabled any and all "auto brightness" settings which could be interfering.
- The unit can also auto-dim the screen when my headlights are on. I can tell it's getting this signal because the buttons on the unit light up when my headlights are on but it has no effect on screen brightness.
That's about all. Wondering if anyone has any ideas what could be going on? This is my 2nd Android Head Unit in as many years so I'm getting unbelievably frustrated.
Thanks.
