Best redmi note 7 kernel and custom rom for battery life? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Questions & Answers

I'm currently using arrow os on my redmi note 7, but i would like to improve the battery life, so what is the best custom rom and kernel?

Battery Life depends on user and Environment. And u need working deep sleep.
Watching youtube over wifi in dark room or navigating or play games in the sun. Huge difference.
For me BB on Arrow 12 is equal to arrow 11 and most other roms.
No big changes for me

Predator Stormbreaker Kernel improves battery life for sure.

my Kernels usage comparison

hi all....
just to share my experiences with different kernels in Rocket ROM (since V12->V19) for my Note:
below comparison purely to my personal usage and opinion.
Usage:
70% Whatsapp
30% of playing games, calls, musics, videos, etc...
Screen On at least 3-5 hours at least
1. Abyss (since 2.3 ~ current)
Speed: Fastest !!!
Stability: Up to 80% mark
Battery: Fastest too, but to 0%
Heat: Very
Overall: if don't mind charging, my first choice!
2. FM (v2.0)
Speed: Fast
Stability: Very stable
Battery: Draining fast, but not as fast as Abyss
Heat: Don't feel it
Overall: if you want speed and stability, FM is the choice!!!
3. SpeedMod
Speed: Feel like stock kernel
Stability: The Best!
Battery: Nothing can beat this kernel, it last me almost 24 hours to re-charge
Heat: Cool
Overall: for normal user who want stability and juices, here you go!
Edited: Above kernels testing are without OC and UV. Default settings!
Thanks to all the awesome kernel dev, you guys make my note live up!
How about your experiences?
hi there. could you provide us with some benchmarks like the ones provided in another thread? (kernel comparison...)
from what i read so far, speedmod is really the best if you want your note to last all day. thanks mate!

Good battery life in Boeffla Kernel.

I'm using Boeffla Kernel 3.3 Beta6 and I'm looking for a good battery timing governor, yes i can sacrifice a little performance for it. 6-7 hr SOT is fine for me. Any suggestions?

Paranoid Android 7.3.0 vs. Lineage OS 14.1 - Doze / power / sleep?

Good morning Le Pro3 forum -
I've been switching between Paranoid Android and Lineage OS for the past few weeks. One thing I've noticed very specifically is that PA 7.3.0 (and 7.2.0...) does not seem to effectively go into 'doze' as well as Lineage OS. What I mean is that battery drain overnight is pretty high on PA (10-20%) while Lineage is very low (less than 5%) using the same applications.
So that I can better understand and troubleshoot, would anyone be willing to point me to other forum posts either here or on other forums that dive into troubleshooting this kind of thing? I'm not finding anything that useful that is *recent*.
Thanks in advance!

Slightly tangential, but how is the battery life overall compared to LineageOS? I've been running LineageOS and while it performs well, the battery life isn't nearly as good as stock EUI. As for over night battery drain, I get about 10% in 8-9 hours in stand by.
Hey. I tried every single rom out there from MoKee to Lineage and i can asure u one thing. Best for battery is Omni ROM (latest) + BlackScreen kernel version 3.6
Now i am a medium - heavy user. Lots of time on snapchat and playin games for about half an hour to a hour. I got 6 hours of screen on time wich is great really compared to other roms.
Now i also tried various combinations of using different governors and so on so i tested an option for about three days and then tried another one. I was seeking for the best possible battery life while don't have any stuttering or lags. Cuz if u put the cpu governor for example on impulse and then underclock it too... It lags like hell.
Soo what do u need to do to get also good standby performance?? I loose less than 3% over night.
Try following:
IN KERNEL AUDITOR
CPU: Both big and little cores governor set on alucard
Underclock the big cores to 1900 and little cores to 1440
GPU: governor set to msm-adreno-tz; underclock max frequency to 560 MHz; enable Adreno idler
I/O sheduler: set governor to noop; read-ahead 128 kB
Low Memory Killer: set profile to Agressive
Misc: Vibration strenght set on about 15%, disable Fsync, TCP must be westwood.
_________________________________________
Developer options:
Set logger buffer size to off
Set all three animation scales on 0.5x

That is it. If u have any questions or something doesn't work as written -> reply back
P.S. turn off wi-fi during night. Helps a bunch.

Hi mate, thank you for your detailed review. It helped me especially for kernel auditor settings. But i have an objection in my honest oppinion. I have tried both roms, AICP 12.1 and OmniROM and AICP is much better at battery department. But both rom is great in the rest.

Really, well u know it is mostly how u use it. Cuz for my type of usage Omni works perfect. I was using AICP for a month before i tried other roms as described and it was really good but idk... When i was using it i got 4h and 30min at best with my kind of usage but with omni i got easily 6h. It depends from user to user but well... I will give AICP another shot anyway. I am glad that my review helped u.

yes it helped a lot. especially kernel tweaking thing. both rom is great imho and 1-1.5 hr screen on time difference may marry -as you said- on which programs/apps we use. we must be glad that our le pro 3 has a great nougat support from these beautiful devs and i dont know how to thank to them. i just used 2-3 days this AICP rom and i will give also a shot to OmniROM to compare them again. I love both roms and i am sure i will keep switching between the two

Which is the best kernel for Pubg Mobile on max pro m1 (low battery drain )

Hi guys
I am using this phone from 2 months
I am on liquid remix pie rom latest 10.1 version with singh kernel.
I have used pbh v7 , singh kernel , darknoah kernel
Darknoah kernel was good while gming but
While playing pubg on high settings 60fps the batterry drain
was 10 % in 13 min (no heating) (audio quility is good but not best)
But on singh kernel battery drain solved but low charging speed and while gaming heating is on peak feels like I am using sd 430
Pbh v7 is good espicially in bass music, charged full in 1hr
But battery idle drain is high also pubg drain battery fastly without heating
I buyied this phone in september
Then on stock rom Pubg battery drain was 3% in 15 min on high graphics
But audio quality was **** there so I rooted and moved on the custom roms but here also no rom available for high end gaming and music
please mention your rom and kernel with sot while playing pubg
And suggest me to get more of this device

Your command over English is so appalling that I simply refuse to comment.....
Why dont you just stick with stock rom and flash mods that boosts the volume/audio quality instead? I also tried using custom roms but i always revert to stock rom as it is the stablest.

[TUTORIAL] [TIPS] How to play PUBG Mobile or any other high-end games without lags

How to play PUBG Mobile smoothly on S6 edge
!!!Do it on your own risk!!! I'm not responsible if you bricked your device!!!
-Unlock your phone bootloader
-Flash TWRP
-Flash Lineage OS 16 (Android 9)
-Flash GAPPS
-Flash Magisk/SuperSU
-Install hKtweaks app
-Overclock your phone to 4x2.3ghz and 4x1.7ghz
-Change CPU Gorvenor to "Performance" when you're going to play games (This will disables thermal throttling and makes your phone heats much more faster but heat is better than laggy [MAX TEMPERATURE I GOT IS 74°c])
-Now you can play pubg smoothly (I can play smooth-extreme without any framedrops)
-Change your CPU gorvenor to interactive once you're done gaming..
Is the Lineage OS 16 stable? and how's the battery life? does the camera work?
The camera works well, battery life is below-average (3-4 hours battery life on light uses) (1-1.5 hours battery life on gaming) and its stable.. Just the battery life sucks, but if you're a mobile phone gamer then i recommend you to install it however if you're the person use the phone for light thing (browser, youtube etc) then you can use other roms that is battery friendly
