Dears,
I was searching all over the net about an application to deal with SMS issues, but did not find any, then thought if it would be a good idea to develop it. I am not a programmer, so thought to share the idea with you here.
Here are my thoughts; which is developing one application to do the following:
1- Every time you receive an SMS confirmation (that your SMS was received by the other party), his phone number appears (not his name) while it is stored in your Imate. The problem is that some times you send the same message to a lot of friends (at the same time), then u start receiving SMS confirmations but you do not know who did not yet received it! Some time due to their mobile was off or out of signal. It would be nice to have a program that dispayes the Contact name instead of the mobile number when you receive the SMS from the operator!
2- Same problem!! when you divert your mobile to the Service Center (to pretend it is turned off), people calls you and find your mobile is off. But you usually receive SMS notification about those who call you in this time (I do not know what this service is called??)!
Any way, when you receive SMS from the service center, it display the mobile numbers not the Contact name! Again the idea is to develop a software to display the Contact name instead of the mobile number.
Please let me know if the idea is not clear, and I got other ideas to add up to this application or other applications.
Hello All,
Need Some Help. I am using Verizon Galaxy S5 in India. I am on Global Mode with Data Enabled. I am able to use Internet / Calls and everything else. The issue that I have is that I am not able to send out text messages / SMS messages. I tried through Hangouts and Samsung Messaging as well, but none works. I am able to receive messages but not send. The only way it works is that if put in the phone number directly without the country code.
For eg:,
If I want to send a text to 9800000001 then I can send only if I put in the number manually in the text message send menu. If I have that number stored in my phonebook with the country code +919800000001 then it is not sent. I cant update my entire phonebook to remove the country code from the numbers. So basically I cannot reply back to text messages received too as they come with the country code.
Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 - NHA Build - Rooted - Stock ROM.
TIA.

This is something that has been happening with all builds of 5.0. I believe it was fixed with 5.0.1 or will be with 5.0.2?

It seems there is no such build !

http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G900V/ acording to Sammobile there is no Build 5.0.1 , is there ?
I've also had this problem using my S5 on straight talk's lte network, which piggybacks off of verizon. The only 5.0 rom that works for me is the international version, but it's not a very good rom otherwise. I'd really like to use MOAR but not being able to send sms is a pretty big problem.
I had the same problem with my Verizon Galaxy S5 in Albania.
I could not send SMS if the number started with +355 (355 is Albania country code)
and all incoming SMS had the country code so it was really frustrating.
After 2 weeks of searching for a solution i found it in androidcentral
can't post the outside link so here is the solution.
It is simple, go to phone dialer > Settings > Call > Assisted dialing
Inside assisted dialing where it say Reference country select your country.
than edit Country code by adding a + in front of the number there.
You are done just don't forget to turn Assisted dialing On.
Thanks
Thanks Man. You really saved my day! No more unsent messages because of this reference country.

I don't know if this has been common knowledge or not, but it is possible to send/receive sms on the tablet if you have a fully operational line on your sim card. Data only won't work. But, if you take the sim from your phone and put it in, you can indeed text.
Hangouts doesn't work, I'm assuming because they restrict the sms feature from tablet-specific versions. But, I did find an app that happily sends/receives texts.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tigaomobile.messenger&hl=en
MMS isn't working for me, I don't know if it's a limitation of the app or my apn not being proper(I did set it to have the correct mmsc info).
Maybe someone can get a hangouts app from a phone and sideload it onto their tablet to test that out.
I'm able to send and receive SMS on my LTE table, I use the built in messages app.
^Must be a difference in the US and EU variations then, because there is no option for SMS in the US version that I could find.
Hangouts?
I use 8sms on consumer cellular sim, data&txt in Colorado. Uses either tmo or att
Textra works great as well.
Until I was able to disable at&t all access (pre loaded bloatware on my U.S. model ) it was the SMS app even on the consumer cellular Sim.

Can I ask how you did this?
I let the att app update. Then in app properties it was able to disable like normal apps!
Hi
I have a snap dragon version scv33 from AU japan.
I now moved back to Australia.
It is in version 8.0.
When I want to make calls it asks me if i am calling to japan or roaming country.
If i select japan is puts +81 automatically and of course phone fails.
If i choose roaming country it just says enter area code i.e. +61
Issue is i have to change all contacts to be +61
If i do this then when i sms it fails.
So if i type persons number normally e.g. 0423 it can send sms.
When they reply it puts the reply under the separate conversation of +61 saved in contacts and replying in that conversation fails.
Is there a way i can flash the calling app with another countries app that does not have this assisted calling locked.
I have checked call settings in call menu but it`S hidden so i cannot disable it.
On my s9+ it has the roaming assistance option and it`s not hidden and I can turn on off.
Thanks alot
no one knows how to replace the callIng app?
Hy guys, i have a wonderful oneplus 6t, with 2 sim, fastweb and vodafone.
In the call and sms menu, i've set for the calls to ask wich sim use, but for the sms is blocked to fastweb, and i can't choose what sim use.
When i make sms it use directly fastweb, but i need vodafone.
How can i solve?
thanks a lot
