Hi y'all!
I have an HP Elitebook x360 1030 G2 that has a factory sim card slot. I've used my GSM Straight Talk (AT&T) card in it for about 3-4 years now without issue. It has recently quit working and thought it was because of the volte switch over so I ordered a new sim card and had my account transferred. However, Windows is not allowing me to modify the APN to match the Straight Talk instructions. For example, Windows does not have a field for MMSC, MMS Proxy, MMS Port, or MMS APN Type. Does anyone know what I'm supposed to put in the APN Settings on Windows to make this work?

I've been all over Google and I cannot find anything that has the new APN of "ereseller" instead of "tfdata" AND that talks about the settings for a PC and not for a Phone. If you've been able to find something via Google, I'm all ears because I came here for actual help. Appreciate you.

So to fix the data loss I just went to settings -> Wireless And Network -> Mobile Networks -> Network operators -> Search now, once your Telus is found click that. Make sure Use packet data is checked up top. Now click on Access Point Names If it's empty make new APN with these settings and if its not empty make sure the settings match these ones.
These settings should work for all of Canada, i am unaware if Telus is in the states and if so not sure these same settings will work or not.

I unlocked my telus phone and am trying to use it on the fido network. The Voice and sms features work, but no data. I have tried the apn settings recommended by xda, still no data. Is this a software issue or is fido punishing me for using a non-fido phone?
Im debating flashing the rom, but im not sure if that will solve my issue.

What is the FIDO APN information you've put in?
Take a look at these settings and make sure they are the same:

The password field **** is : fido
For tethering, you'd need to root your phone and get titanium backup and disable the application TetheringManager
The APN setting i had tried were very similar to that.
However these apn setting (excluding the MNC#) also do not permit my phone to have data.
How did you change your MNC?
When i try to change my 370 to 37 it deletes the APN profile.
These APN setting didnt work either, but i found it interesting that Fido has so many APN possibilities:
Name: Fido Internet/MMS
APN type: default,mms
APN: fido-core-appl1.apn
Username: <not set>
Password: <not set>
Authentication type: <not set>
Proxy: <not set>
Port: <not set>
MMSC: http : //mms.fido . ca
MMS proxy : 205.151.11.13
MMS port : 80
One other fido rep told me that non-fido phones must use wap.fido.ca, but i have a feeling that was a deterrent as thats only a 2g APN.

Hate to ask an ignorant question but what are the symptoms of data loss, what problem does this fix?
Hopefully you know how to turn your data on and off, but basically when its on and you still can't load webpages or do anything data related. If you HAVE to be connected to wifi to do any web browsing and such then this would fix that.
After have gone from a dumb plan back to the unlimited smartphone data, I'm so happy as I had comitted the biggest mistake ever. I found this new settings to work for both internet and mms combined. Follow this settings:
first make sure you are on a 3G or 4G data plan
Settings are as followed:

APN: Phone
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: internet+mms
So far they have been working for me and I have noticed faster data speeds as well as I'm able to send and receive mms picture msg.

There's already a long discussion on this in the dev forum. I suggest it be continued there. The same ah ha! you just declared was made there and the results were inconsistent. People who changed to more expensive 4G plans still got lower speeds than people on bastard plans in the same locations. Anything having to do with 4G on AT&T is a big YMMV.

Hey, no need to apologize, I'm not the boss of anyone. What happens though as threads like this pop up is that people on bastard plans starting freaking out that they're missing something. Than after dozens of "yes it does, no it doesn't" posts people upgrade to more expensive plans and some don't see any difference. Why everyone's experiences are so different is beyond me. If I thought moving to a real 4G plan would get me consistently better results I'd do it in a heartbeat. But the risk of paying more for the same or less based on the experiences of others that went before me keeps me on my bastard plan.

Dev section APN
This thread's APN
The default APN was very off and not stable at all, mainly jumping from 1 to 3 mbps. The Dev section APN stayed consistantly at 5ish mbps, and the last so far stayed at 9+ mbps
So I got a new APN for AT&T users. It activates VOLTE on your Note 4.

APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
APN enable/disable: APN enabled

I have also noticed about a 15% increase in mobile data speeds. Thought I would share since I had not seen it posted on XDA yet.

Thanks man! Going to try this now!
I loaded this apn. I have VoLTE enabled in call settings, but it still switches me to 3G for calls like it always has. I'm a very strong LTE signal area. Am I missing something?
That means that volte is not active in your area.

I'd like to try this, but I can't access my APNs! I only have access to CDMA settings for some odd reason. I used to be able to edit/add APNs, change my connection type, etc but that option has disappeared for some reason

I'm in the middle of Chicago, so there's definitely VoLTE here.
I tried calling a friend's iPhone 6 which also has VoLTE and it didn't work.
edit: VoLTE is in chicago for sure. My line, however, is billing to an area that doesn't have VoLTE. Even though my phone has the Chicago area code, and is being used in Chicago, I can't get VoLTE from AT&T on it because it's not billing here. There's the problem.
So AT&T is only going to let you use VoLte in the city where were your billed? What if you're visiting a place that has VoLte? That's crazy.

no it works anywhere there's VoLTE, as long as your home billing address is one of those places.

I think they have to activate it on your account. And they do that by looking at the zip code on your bill to see if they have the service in your area. I'm assuming though. I am in St. Louis and my VOLTE is working great after this change.

Well I live in upstate new York, where there is no VoLte from tmobile and work in new York where there is. I would be pissed if they didn't activate it for me, why should certain ppl get a part is their service and others not? Why should it matter where you're billed?

that's pretty much what I've gathered by looking around with peoples' experiences.
I might call AT&T later and see if there's any further explanation.
Ok so the default apn I have selected is giving me edge more than I would like in my room. I never had that problem with my 5x or previous phones so I could have the wrong apn. Can you guys post your tmobile apns? I'll try all of them
I was unable to send or receive MMS messages, until i made some edits to my T-Mobile APN settings.
here are my settings, hopefully this helps you out also.

I tried that and it immediately tanked my connectivity. There's a separate MMS APN that is added if you reset to default. That's working fine for me.

Please see the pictures. Shouldn't it say T-Mobile US LTE?
CHECK those slow data speeds! T-Mobile submitted a ticket but jeez this is terrible.
When I log onto my T-Mobile it says "unknown" device for my 6P. The rep gave me the whole not a T-Mobile device so speeds aren't blah. I said well it is unlocked device but has network coverage heck you partner with Google for Fi!
I receive MMS SMS etc fine just concerned about the data speeds!

I'm getting these exact same slow speeds! I thought I was the only one. I changed my APN protocol to IPV4/IPV6 added the MMSC address that's used for the Nexus 6 on T-Mobile's website but still not seeing changes.
I am getting the same slow speeds on my Nexus 6 purchased thru T-Mobile, so the fact that the phone is "not a T-Mobile phone" does not fly. As long as performance isn't affected, I do not care. Browsing, streaming music and videos are not affected by the readings from SpeedTest.
I have 6P with default APN settings. I get 50 to 30 MB/s down and 30 to 9 MB/s up.
First I would check data usage on My T-Mobile site. Then try forcing 3G (HSPA+) to see if speeds improve.
Could be an issue with the tower or you are getting throttled.

Man, you saved me. I have tried all the different APN changes and other "fixes" around the internet and none were working. I even used T-Mobiles website APN and nothing. I am using Textra so it should work but I was getting nothing. Well...I was able to get mms messages but only if I turned off WiFi but I live being on WiFi all day so that was not an option. I then came across your post and change my APN to what you have and that fixed my issue, no need to turn WiFi off. Thanks!

The one issue I had when having "mms" in the APN Type field, I was not able to send MMS messages. Removing "mms" fixed the problem.
