Guys I had HTC Desire EYE and have moved to S7 edge a year ago cause it looked awesome plus the better capabilities (CPU.. RAM..) and battery. But I miss Sense UI! So I thought of porting the full manufacturer ROM to our device from HTC 10. Any guides? Is it even possible?
If I want to make a hybrid Sense ROM based on lineage OS, will it be better?
I saw a manufacturer porting guide on XDA but it supports upto kitkat only.

Hello everyone,
I've been reading about the new google project Android go which will bring all the low resources phones android 8.1 optimizing the ram usage and many other aspects so that 8.1 can run smoothly.
Our galaxy s5 is now getting a "low end" phone even if it is simply amazing, so I was thinking, for people like me who love touchwiz, android go is a new hope to get android 8.1 officially and to give a new and longer life to our loved phone.
How about it developers? do you think it will be possible to get a ported versione for our galaxy s5? At the moment it seems that lineageOs staff is working on it already.
How about you galaxy s5 users? would you like to have it on your phone? what do you all think about it?

Thank you....I was hoping to get a "ported" version of the android go from samsung to get and "official" android 8.1 on our galaxy s5 keeping the great camera quality and audio quality avoiding to move to a non touchwiz rom, it would be great! I personally think that it won't be something impossible and I hope to see it soon on xda I tried already the file in the link and I personally don't notice a great improvement on a 6.0.1 android rom as it is optimized for 8.1 android. anyway thank you so much :good::good::good:

You won't notice any big difference since the S5 hardware is still capable of handling Android 8 flawlessly, you may notice some improvement on increased internal storage capacity and ram management when running a lot of apps.

Did you mean like we will get official android 8.1 touchwiz rom?? Ported tw roms available but almost roms are unstable. Am glad if developers design new official android 8.1 tw rom to s5 without porting other tw phones rom.

Hi developers I like u work and I really do appreciate it . I have given shot to custom ROMs and work is really appreictiable. I want u to port Samsung experience custom ROM for redmi note 4 for those who like the UI of samsung experience phones likes s8, s9 or any other. I know its heavy ROM but try to make it smooth, there are a lot people who wanna taste samsung UI . I love the skin of samsung experience like the dialer notification bar and setting menu everything . Try to port it with Oreo or nought don't go for android pie.

M not making it m encourging u guys to make it , i dont know how to port a rom and if somehow m able to do so there would be so many bugs so better a expert does it. Thanks can u make it?
When I use pixel experience on my mido, it just feel the same when I use my S9+ ?
Only icons and toggles that make huge differences.

Yeah but UI is Different and notification bar toggles are different i like skin of samsung experience like the icon pack nd other things ???.Can Anyone Port that rom? I badly want it?

As far as I know when using Mi devices, there isn't any touchwiz or even Samsung Experience port to Xiaomi devices.....
But in Samsung sub forum, there is MIUI custom rom for Samsung devices :laugh:

I even can't port or create any rom. But I also want any Samsung rom for my mido.
Why isn't there a one UI ported rom for our device when we get AOSP ROMS WITH PIE working on our device??

I get your point but porting an entire OS from scratch can be a lot of work. Not all developers have the knowledge/ are willing to put in the effort for completing the task successfully. Especially since developers do what they do for free.

we hope that the 7 FE gets the pie update, with that update the devs can port it to S7 very easely

From what i saw note fe wasn't in the list that Samsung published about the devices that will get the pie update. I really hope they update note fe to pie so we can get pie too because note fe and s7 have the same internals if i am not mistaken?

note fe was in the list a few months ago, but now itsn't :/
If Note FE is getting it then I thought samsung can just port it to s7 S7 edge easily, but then they can't do that because the Americans will go nuts with their S7 permanently stuck on version behind the rest of the world...
Note FE has started recieving the ONE UI update so are there any developers willing to port it for S7 Edge?

S7 has OneUI 1.0 with Pie ports so if it can be done there it shouldn't be impossible here. We only need someone that can do it.

That's because the Note 7 FE (same chip as the S7/S7E) was released with Android 7 and got updated until Pie, so they didn't have to port everything to the S7/S7E by scratch, they had a base already
The problems start when you want something you got no idea of programming. People don't work on demand, they do what the like to do because the can do. And they are helpful to those who can't do it when they share their result FOR FREE! Nothing more.

Exactly, that's why I say to not have any hope for OneUI 2.0, someone have to want to work in his/her free time, on something very difficult, and for free.
I'm already grateful with LineageOS 17.1, I though I wouldn't see even 10.0 on the S8/S8+ lol
Such a shame for Samsung even the cheapest Plastic Galaxy A series are getting Android 10 one ui 2.0 and the Samsung flagship device like Galaxy S8+ is not going to get it. Plz XDA developers make a custom rom for Galaxy S8+ based on Android 10 one ui 2.0
