Galaxy S10+ annoyance - text audio notification - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Is there any way around this annoyance? (app, setting, etc)
My Samsung Galaxy S10+ native text message app Samsung Messages Version 12.2.10.31 will not give me audio notifications for subsequent messages in an open conversation.
I tried Verizon Messenger app and this has the same problem.
After googling, this is not a bug but a feature; EVERYONE has the same problem. Samsung programmed the phone FORCING you to sit there staring at your phone waiting for a response to a text. You are not able to set your phone down to wait for an audio notification.
There must be a way to program around this annoyance.

[Q] Hangouts Notification

The hangouts application is my preferred way to SMS and text. When I receive a message, I receive a notification like I should. After I open the hangouts app and then engage in further conversation, I get a notification sound after each message I receive although I am still chatting to the person. The notification sound rings with each incoming message weather I am in the application, within the very chat, or weather I am on the homescreen or anywhere else. The only way I've known to subdue it is by turning off the sound notification for hangouts messages completely.
I've had this problem since 4.4.0 update. Today after I flashed Lollipop I was expecting it to go away but it didn't. I thought about it and then decided to ask if anybody else have had the problem before.
Something I strongly suspect is when I cleared the "Google services Framework" in hopes of getting 4.4.0 OTA ASAP I might have messed up. At that time this was suggested by many websites which later turned out to be counter helpful and create problems with the GCM.
So, if anybody knows how it could be fixed, and I could get notifications in the normal way it would be much helpful.
Thank you.

[Q] Messages in Call logs

I have recently bought Galaxy S5 and have Lollipop. I don't know if its the phone or the software that is causing the trouble.
Basically when i go to call logs, it also gives me log of text messages which is fine by me, but the problem is you can actually see what was written on the text. Is there a way to disable that feature, i don't mind mind having a log of text messages but to display the text that is annoying.
Anyone knows how to disable that?

No Text's Notification Sound when Chat Window is Open?

On my Sprint Galaxy S5, which I just got this week, I noticed that there was no text notification sound when a new message arrives when the chat window is open. Is this for real? When i am texting someone, I do not look at the phone all the time. After I send a text, I place my phone down and wait for the whistle sound to notify me that I got a text response. This doesn't happen with my S5. I only noticed this when I actually look down and saw a whole bunch of text that came without any notification. Is there a way to fix this? I do get sound notification only when the text window is NOT open. I've look in all the settings to no avail. Anyone know how to change the settings within a file on rooted device? There's got to be a solution for the default messaging app. I do not want to use a third party messaging app.
I'm on Sprint Galaxy s5 4.4.4 by the way. It's rooted with towelroot and everything else is stock NK4.

Dismissing Notifications

When I get app notifications for things like text messages or emails, entering the app directly and opening the corresponding message does not dismiss the notifications from the notification center. Is this normal behavior? I thought Lollipop did, but I could be mistaken. I either have to swipe the notification off, or click it to open the app to dismiss it.
I noticed the same, found it irritating and I got way to many notifications from all sorts of stuff, App's and OS. Eventually I disabled all notifications. The phone already makes a sound so i don't need any visuals.
I am getting the same issue, any fix/ workaround to get rid of the notifications?
In my case this seems to depend on the application. Whatsapp does this annoying thing, while Gmail and Inbox do not. I think that most apps are not yet updated properly for Marshmallow support.

WhatsApp messages w/attachments cross-over to default Messaging App [oem]

I'm running a rooted/debloated otherwise Stock T-Mobile Firmware on my SG5, and seeing a major strange WhatsApp problem This issue looks like a defeat of WhatsApp secure message pipe. I have turned it in to the Developer but no answer [other than the robot]. Description: In a group conversation where both Galaxy and iPhone are in play, I will randomly have a WhatsApp message notification with the tagged "Download" trigger for grabbing the attachment, but when doing so [opening the Attachment], the entire message suddenly moves from WhatsApp to the default Messaging app. Bizarre. I see nothing like this in any of their FAQ, but then it is a hard problem to search terms for.
is this a 'feature' of some kind at work that if the message has been compromised, before trashing it all it resends the entire thing to insecure Messaging? I could see some logic there.
