WhatsApp messages w/attachments cross-over to default Messaging App [oem] - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm running a rooted/debloated otherwise Stock T-Mobile Firmware on my SG5, and seeing a major strange WhatsApp problem This issue looks like a defeat of WhatsApp secure message pipe. I have turned it in to the Developer but no answer [other than the robot]. Description: In a group conversation where both Galaxy and iPhone are in play, I will randomly have a WhatsApp message notification with the tagged "Download" trigger for grabbing the attachment, but when doing so [opening the Attachment], the entire message suddenly moves from WhatsApp to the default Messaging app. Bizarre. I see nothing like this in any of their FAQ, but then it is a hard problem to search terms for.
is this a 'feature' of some kind at work that if the message has been compromised, before trashing it all it resends the entire thing to insecure Messaging? I could see some logic there.

SMS problem

Ok i have this weird problem.
It keeps showing me that i have next texts, when i really don't. I think it has something to do with the text secure app.
Like, it says i have a new message up on the status bar. So i pull it down and press where it says new message (it doesn't identify who it was from either, which is odd). It takes me to my text secure inbox, where there is no new messages. There is also no new messages in my regular inbox (which i don't use anymore).
And i can't get rid of the notification on the top that says i have a new message unless i clear notifications.
It doesn't really effect too much on the phone, but something is messed up and its quite annoying.
maybe gchat or other messaging services?

[Q] Odd SMS Behavior

Hi all,
I work with a guy who has a Droid 2 and every time he sends a text message, it shows a failed delivery icon in the notification bar and says "2 Text messages not sent." When clicked, it just takes him back to the inbox. However, the message that is sent does reach its recipient (my Dinc for testing purposes).
He is not rooted, and he's running the stock messaging app (for all intents and purposes, he does not "use" his Android the way we do, it's a work phone).
Any thoughts on why it's doing this?
EDIT: For what it's worth, he does not have any "drafts" in his Messages that could be causing this issue.
EDIT 2: This has been corrected. There were unsent messages that the stock messaging app was not showing. Upon downloading Handcent, said messages were made visible and were removed.

[Q] Stock Messaging app "..." on longer messages?

When looking at an individual text inside a thread on some of the longer messages it will have "..." in the middle of the message and I'll have to pinch-to-resize the message text to see what it said. It's incredibly annoying because I communicate almost solely via MMS/SMS E-mail during the work-day and it seems this has to be a wide-spread issue.
Anyone else have this issue or have a fix? :fingers-crossed:

[Q] Hangouts Notification

The hangouts application is my preferred way to SMS and text. When I receive a message, I receive a notification like I should. After I open the hangouts app and then engage in further conversation, I get a notification sound after each message I receive although I am still chatting to the person. The notification sound rings with each incoming message weather I am in the application, within the very chat, or weather I am on the homescreen or anywhere else. The only way I've known to subdue it is by turning off the sound notification for hangouts messages completely.
I've had this problem since 4.4.0 update. Today after I flashed Lollipop I was expecting it to go away but it didn't. I thought about it and then decided to ask if anybody else have had the problem before.
Something I strongly suspect is when I cleared the "Google services Framework" in hopes of getting 4.4.0 OTA ASAP I might have messed up. At that time this was suggested by many websites which later turned out to be counter helpful and create problems with the GCM.
So, if anybody knows how it could be fixed, and I could get notifications in the normal way it would be much helpful.
Thank you.

Strange text messaging issue

I'm having this strange issue where my messenger has decided to start converting conversations to MMS automatically for some reason. It seems to be when I am texting iphone users, but I can't 100% confirm that.
For simplicity's sake let's say I start a new text message conversation with someone. I add them to the recipients section and send them a message. First one works fine. Now I press the back key to go back to the screen where all my conversations are shown. Instead of the contact name that was there when I started conversation, the phone number is displayed followed by the @provider.com (IE [email protected]). If I go back into the conversation i get a little popup at the bottom saying "Converting to MMS." The contact at the top is still listed as the phone number and not the contact name. If I try sending a message it doesn't go through.
I scrolled through my conversation window and I noticed that my phone also converted several old conversations in this same fasion (changed the recipient to a [email protected]). Now anytime i need to send a text to one of these people I have to start a new conversation every single time.
I tried to clear cache out and data for the messaging app and it continued to happen. The weirdest part about this is that the default messaging app, and gosms both convert the conversations, but textra does not.
Has anyone ever experienced this type of behavior before? I did some googling but couldn't turn anything up.
Something similar: when I write slightly longer SMS, it tells me: converting to mms, and they don't go through. This didn't happen to my previous phones. . But I did not notice the change in recipient ID.
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I think you cab set the max length inside an XML in system. I can't remember which duke though, sorry.
It sounds like you have a short limit, which causes the text to become an MMS.

Click to collapse
try another sms app!
if it works fine with another app then go to setting > apps > select samsung sms app > storage : clear cache & data then force stop!
