Head Unit not delivering enough Power… - Android Head-Units

Hey guys
So my headunit that I put inside my 2004 E46 does not support Apple CarPlay from the start.
The unit runs android (10)
I bought a adapter and tried to install the app that It comes with but nothing… no signal.
So the issue seams so be that there is not enough power coming out of the USB port from the headunit.
When I use a splitter and plug the end for power into the lighter usb charger and the data one into the usb dongle it works no problem but it looks ****ty …
Any way or any adapter that I can get this fixed with?

USB Front Port On Car Headunit compatible with Nexus S?

I was at the car stereo place and found nearly every headunit with a USB port in the front saying that it is compatible with an iPod or iPhone. Question is, have any of you guys tried hooking it up to a Android device? Does it charge? Will it fry my cellphone? I'm leaning towards a Kenwood headunit but just wondering if there are any precautions. Thank you

You should be fine. I doubt it would damage the phone as most smart phones have similar power requirements/charging methods these days. The iPhone's cables are just normal USB cables with a special plug on one end and an Apple logo so they can charge more. Most things labelled "For iPhone/iPod" work just fine on Android devices.
Anyone with a USB port on their headunit using a Android phone?
My Honda has a USB port for the stereo. It does not allow the me to use the phone to control audio through USB as this is not supported like it is on iPod (same with any Android phone, has nothing to do with Nexus S in particular) but it does work in Mass Storage Mode and allows me to control audio through the head unit.
All of this is moot anyway as the best solution is to use a car mount and connect through the 3.5m stereo out to the AUX input. I can then not only use Last.fm and Navigation sounds through the stereo, but also phone call audio gets passed through. It's pretty much awesome and makes me glad I did not spend the extra $1200 on the in dash GPS/touchscreen head unit with bluetooth.

Some Joying questions. Please help.

This is a Joying for a vw. Running android 8.
There is two usb connections at the back. Left and right.
The one marked 2.o (left one looking at the front) works with the DAB adapter and Zlink Apple car play. All is good.
Q1:
If i connect to the right usb the iphone then zlink wont connect. Why? (Im assuming its USB1.0) Can I use one of the zjinnova adapters to get carplay on this usb port?
Q2:
If i connect the DAB adapter to the right usb it works but the sound stutters enough for it to be annoying to listen to.
Anything i can do to help this? Im assuming its a data speed issue.
Q3:
Any tips on getting both DAB and Apple carplay to work?

Apple Carplay dongle problem

So I bought a CarPlay dongle from eBay. Installed AutoKit on my Eonon GA2170 8.0. CarPlay works fine and smooth except the charging. It doesn’t charge my phone as i think because of low power from my unit.
Anyway, I bought a powered USB hub and connected that hub between Carplay Dongle and Unit and connected it to my car cigarette lighter socket via adapter to get external power. It charges my phone now along with playing CarPlay but it doesn’t let shut down my head unit when i turn my car off. Head unit literally stays on until i remove that powered hub from cigarette light socket.
Not sure what’s happening. My cigarette lighter socket usually turns off when I turn off my car but in this case both head unit and socket keeps running.
Is the USB Hub also sending reverse power into the HU USB ?
Yes i think so. But I don’t understand why it’s getting input from it and why it doesn’t let 12V Cig socket turn off?
Anyone got any clue?

Applepie Mini ***Help***

Hi all.
I have a 2021 mazda bt50. Supports all phones. Wireless carplay, wired android auto.
When i plug this device into the usb port for connecting to the stereo. The device just constantly reboots.
If i plug into a normal usb port (charging only) the unit stays on and does not reboot. But unable to connect to stereo.
Have done all nessasary firmware upgrades.
I have tried new cables everything. Nothing works.
Another supplier that sells thses things rekon they have them working in my type of stereo. But mine just reboots.
Can anyone help?
Thanks heaps

CarPlay only working when using the USB port on the back

So I got an aftermarket Chinese android head unit (this one!) which generally seems pretty good to me, however one issue I'm having is that for some reason, wired CarPlay only works if I use the USB port on the back side. The HU has 2 USB ports on the front. The front upper port is for charging only I think, since it has a charging icon next to it and also because if I connect using that, the HU doesn't detect anything. But if I use the front lower USB port and then open Zlink, a 'Connecting' message appears and after about 10 seconds I get the error: "link fail, try another usb port". If I connect using the back USB port however, CarPlay starts within seconds! But according to the manual, the back USB port is for the rear camera, which also came with my HU.
I also have an Android phone. I tried connecting that to the front lower USB port and I could use Android Auto. So the issue is only if I use CarPlay.
Is there any potential reason why CarPlay doesn't work when using the front lower USB port ? Is the HU potentially defective, or is this a software issue of some kind ?
My iPhone's iOS version is 15.0.1, if that matters. The Zlink version is 3.8.34, and it's an Android 10.1 HU.
bump. Any suggestions/comments ?
Your link does not work. Maybe you should provide a new one or provide the head unit description here.

Link seems to be working for me, but you can also see the head unit if you search for this on Amazon.com: B09KH7VQ2N
It’s an Android 10.1 head unit.

Be sure it's not Android 10. Most head units shows a faked version info and yours is to cheap to be to to date.
Does your car has an USB socket you could connect with the USB connection on the back of the head unit?
