Mazda CX3 Coho headunit - Android Head-Units

I bought a Coho headunit (https://a.aliexpress.com/_m0Nkbjm) to upgrade from a 9” to a 10.25”. What appealed me at first from this seller is that their system are dual system so that I could keep my original Mazda infotainment system next to it. Having it installed, the display is great! But the software sucks quite badly: physical buttons that are not mapped properly. For example when in CarPlay, the home button brings me back to the Android system instead of the home screen of CarPlay or I can change the volume but it doesn’t show any visual feedback (the volume number even stays the same in Android. They said it’s because the volume is adapted in the original Mazda system).
Anyhow, it’s gotten to the point that I start to miss the original system. As it’s a dual system, I can still make use of the original system. The only problem is that the resolution isn’t adapted. So I either need to deal with a part cut off (the original 9”) or the image is blown up to fit the whole screen.
Is there a way to upscale the resolution so that I can have it fullscreen on the 10.25” size?

Did you ever solve this issue?

Roadnav (Or LM) M052 S160 for Bmw E46 M3

I own the M052 Model for a BMW E46 M3 (Really why the name is LM M052 S160 here in Greece instead of Roadnav M052 S160 ???? )
I'm searching some help here as i've seen some posts about the s160 and i think that i won't find any help from the official dealer forum.
So i hope you android gurus maybe can save the day
The steering wheel controls are working almost fine.. I have volume up/down change song etc..
BUT! When i press the Volume up and keep it pressed it only raises the volume by 1 level. As long as you keep it the volume won't change again. I think that should work (because with a chinese android i had before was working fine!)
The canbus in the About sceen says failed to connect
Also the application Vehicle info which displays car information taken from canbus is missing. Maybe the don't install it in all models for some reason
Can someone export the app and send me the apk?
I've tried to change the canbus type at the factory settings panel but nothing changed. It also says only BMW320
The default OBC of the car takes info as fuel / consumption / temperature etc... Also other known multimedia sources work with this as far as i know..
Other questions/problems now:
Is there a way to change the WINCA launcher skin icon order? For example i have the television shortcut in the 2nd screen and i want to bring it in the 1st.. Like in the android main launcher when you move app icons.
The subwoofer control is only for the Analog output for passive subs .. right?
Is there any option that we could change the RR RL RCA outputs to sub out?
I have connected an extra camera on the front bumper to AUX1 (Dont ask why,the previous owner put it there and i just kept it and wanted to have it on the new source)
The framerate is crappy.I think its because of the screen not going to fullscreen. Like when we use the Television App while watching tv if you have the controls popped up (also the upper android info bar) the framerate is crappy and when it fades away everything is fine again! )
So aux1 is never on real full screen but as a popup window .. Maybe any setting? any fix ?
(it was working fine with the previous multimedia source so the framerate is not a camera problem)

Set resolution to high on my Android 5.1 head unit. Now I can't access settings!

I have two resolution settings on my android 5.1 head unit. I set it to the higher one. And now the screen is to wide to fit in the 6.2 inch monitor. And the Settings icon is off the screen. I can scroll right and see it. But while scrolling I can't select it. To get back into settings and reset the resolution back to the lower setting.
Does anyone know how to access settings someplace else other than the home screen button? It's an Eincar unit. But I think they are pretty much all the same. It's android 5.1.
Android 5.1 head unit
Hi there,
I just bought one of those units and it happen to me exactly the same right after I found the code t unlock the general>extras menu.
I managed to "guess" the position of the buttons since it seems like the screen changes but the original position of the touch buttons does not. It took me a little while but I was able to do it but its complicated thou.
The other way around would be to try the the reset pin button on the front right top corner. I have not try that so honestly don't know the exact behavior of this reset button.
Good look.

backup camera during boot on Eonon unit

I just chatted with Eonon and they told me that none of their units show the backup camera while it's booting... That's a blow considering all of my vehicles have android headunits and this seems to be the only brand that doesn't have this as an option. I don't have my MCU and ROM info handy but, has there been any discussion about ways to show a backup camera during boot on units that don't have it working out of the box? Unfortunately there are no other sellers who have the "flat face" head unit for my Range Rover, so I'm at the mercy of the unit I have installed.
Thanks.
EDIT: It's an Eonon GA8201A if that makes a difference.
What's wrong with it showing the reverse camera upon reverse? While booting seems odd, especially when the OS is having to load.
Nothing else works while its booting so i wouldnt expect the camera to be any different, what model range rover do you have ?
I just fitted an Eonon GA2175 to my D3/LR3 but yet to route the camera cabling.

I has nothing to do with the OS loading and so on. It is normally activated by the reverse gear. Than it gets an electrical signal and the camera video is simply going over everything else. No OS interference at all.
So it could display on start if you have the gear in reverse.
If you do not have the gear in reverse it will not show. I don't know any unit that does this when not in reverse: OS loaded or not. Because it is not controlled by the OS, but by the electrical signal when in reverse.
This is from a central electrical signal: If it would function it would also mean that upon starting, whith the car not in reverse, also the reverse backlights would be on. That would be confusing and thereby dangerous.
Does your webcam work while the PC booting ? , no because the os still has to load before any peripherals will work which is no different to the head unit regardless if you select reverse or not.
My head unit displays the reversing signal through the OS. The Android firmware automatically switches depending on the reverse line. The only way I could see this working the way you say is by using the output of the head unit to the display + the reverse camera and then using a relay to switch between them. Completely separating the OS from the camera feed.
Its wrong design from eonon if this is the case.
The rear signal in all other px5 or a3 or a8 units is controlled by the mcu so when you switch the key and you put reverse no matter what the addon android card does it switches to rear camera.
I dont believe they had done that and you must wait the android to boot ...

First impression of my new Pumpkin 10.2" unit AA04121B-D01

I did it again....
Since last weekend I have the new Pumpkin here and test it extensively at my test place before I install it in the car.
Link to the radio: https://www.autopumpkin.de/autoradi...a-ram-4gb-rom-32gb-unterstutzt-fast-boot.html
Data
Scope of delivery:
2 DIN Unit
10.1 inch glossy screen, with metal frame
Cable set with 2 USB ports
User manual English/German
PX5
64-bit 8-Core Cortex-A53 1.5GHz
Android 9, build number 201907251651
MCU: CSN2_06252ß19_163051 (Despite this MCU the device is obviously a KLYDE device)
Here again an information to the MCU:
It is a PX5, but with a newer mainboard. The CSN2 devices are not firmware-compatible to the known PX5 boards, so there are no custom-roms at the moment.
First impression:
I must say, the first impression is very good.
The first startup was done after about 20 seconds.
The original launcher is as usual from Punpkin, as well as the apps included.
What's new:
Additional USB on the front panel
2 micro SD trays on the front panel
Volume control knob (illuminated)
Knob for App switching (illuminated)
App called "Tachograph," a new app for the Pumpkin USB-Dashcam.
Caravan, an app that supports rear view camera and front camera and you can switch between both cams. (did not try it...)
Sync (I don't know what it's for yet)
CD player for external CD players
An app called "Joykey Study" for certain OEM-Key-Pads, I have to do some research myself...
VoiceControl App Looks like an app for Apple's friends. The app doesn't work for Android phones (at least for mine).
The Settings menu was cleaned up, also the menu for the "factory settings". Here you don't find the strange menu anymore, but it's neatly clean arranged. Unfortunately not in German, but I think you can live with that.
Display of the battery voltage in the status bar is now possible in the "Personal settings".
Also the settings of the phone can be displayed now. Here you can see the field strength and the battery status at the top of the status bar.
The radio runs very smoothly and I was able to install all the apps I needed without any problems. Root was possible with the well-known ADB method without any problems.
The screen is connected to the radio with a flat cable plug, just slide it on and click into place.
You can turn the screen with a little effort in all directions and the holder makes a very stable impression.
First Tests:
The working temperature is important for me. With active route guidance, DAB+ active in the background, Blitzer.de active, the temperature stays ~60°C... and that without any optimization.
Yesterday I installed the radio. The first thing I noticed was, that Pumpkin is finally keeping the usual EUR installation dimensions for this radio. My previous radios always needed a reworked installation frame. A new frame is therefore due because the existing frame was reworked to fit my other units....
Potential for improvement:
Developer menu is password protected. The PW is even not known at Pumpkin. It's marked as secret... But i´m on it.
I got the information from Pumpkin that the new Android 9 design from Pumpkin is still in work. I'm curious when that will come. So I'll show you some pictures as soon I will get it from them.
On my car the phone keys don't work right now, they are not recognized by the app. So I had to change my voice key so that I can answer a call via the steering wheel and hang up (double assignment of the actions goes via long click).
Recommendation:
For me its´s a clear YES, because I don´t need any custom rom. I just use another launcher.
Please comment on the 10-inchness implementation
Did you have to cut into your car plastics? Or does it stick out an leave a gap? Was there a snug adapter with no gaps and no cutting?
Does it tilt/rotate? If it does, does it stay in place when you are operating it or wiggle under your fingers? Does it stay still on bumpy roads? Etc.

The unit is exactly 2-DIN large so there is no gap and nothing has to be cut from cockpit plastic at all.
The screen stays completely in place even when placing the hand on the top and using the thumb for a screen touch on bumpy roads.
... and yes, it stays still on bumpy roads.
For my car (Mitsubishi ASX) I need a car specific adapter, because the OEM unit is 2-DIN high but about 6cm wider than 2-DIN but with just a 6" screen and lousy firmware/UI and OS. The adapter I buyed needed to get cut, because nearly all 2-DIN chinese units are not really 2-DIN, they are a bit larger. To get the chinese units in my car, I had to cut the hole larger.
With the new unit I would be able to use the original size... so I have to buy a new one.... unfortunately...
You can tilt and rotate the screen to get rid of any glare and you can move the screen up and down, to get the right position at your dashboard.
Until now I don´t see any bad behavior.

Help with decision..Tesla style 9.7" Joying

I just got a 2020 Subaru Ascent and the factory head unit suuuucksss!
Trying to index a 480gig SSD makes it lag so much!
The only thing you can do with the steering wheel is next track and volume. Everything else you need to look at and touch the screen.
And every time you browse the folders it starts back at the root with no way to jump to where you were.
I'm considering the Joying 9.7" 8.1 head units that can do portrait. All three look to be the same with Intel Airmont eight-core 1.8GHz SC9853i. Am I missing something that they all seem to have the same features?
The first one is $65 cheaper for some reason but has a motor to rotate the screen.

https://www.joyingauto.com/joying-9...io-head-unit-with-sim-card-slot-4gb-64gb.html
I'll be customizing almost everything about the head unit so single/double DIN doesn't really mater. I'll be making a custom bezel for the screen to go over the factory unit and remote mounting the rest.
The factory head unit has to stay because it controls parts of the car. The new screen will be hinged or something so you can access the factory unit.
With all the threads about problems, wanting to get root and the default apps not working well, it makes me want to build my own.
What would be the challenges to making my own Android system?
In my previous car I had a mini-ITX Windows computer running RideRunner.
Thanks.
