no notifications

I have a very annoying problem with my Nexus 4. I dont get notifications for Apps like Facebook, Facebook messenger or Kik Messenger (WhatsApp only works when screen is turned on, but thats not so bad because I always use my N4 ).
I used Greenify before uninstalled it today but I still dont get any notifications for facebook messenger Anybody know how to fix?

That is a known problem on some n4.. You have wi fi fix on this forum, but not 2g/3g.

Same here! heck, I can't even receive Viber calls while the screen is off on wifi.. gmail notifications would come late always at no specific time.
Tried Advanced Wifi Lock, works for the first ~15 mins then stops.....

Latest versions of CM kind of fixes, but the problem still persist; it's being said this is going to be fixed on the next OS update.

[Q] Buggy Whatsapp or strange issue - Cannot auto-download media on wifi etc.

Not sure, what is wrong.
I recently joined some new whatsapp groups and only for this groups I am unable to auto-download media (audio/video/voice) when I am on wifi/mobile/roaming or anything..
Checked settings lot of times (media auto-download wont work only for this group, rest all is fine)
Re-installed app couple of times as well
Rejoined the group few times
Deleted all conversations/chat but nothing works.
Finally emailed to whatsapp and even they are puzzled !!
they asked my personal details (complete mobile number etc.)
Anything I should try ??

Bump anyone can help.
I am not using any kind of hacked whatsapp app as people claimed on rest of sites. But I have a rooted mobile as followed XDA instructions.

Last bump.. even after trying 100s of things (reflashing rom) quiting the group, joining again back..
I am still not able to fix this issue.. (it seems I am the only one facing the same)..
Tried emailing whatsapp but as usual it is difficult to see them replying.
Anything I should try ?
OR
I will ignore it and continue same way.

Possible App Sleep Issue

I noticed this on my S7 Edge after it was updated to Nougat and it persists on the S8.
I've noted that apps like Facebook Messenger and Nine (Email) sleep much differently than before. Facebook Messenger will often appear "disconnected" as when I open the app, it has to "reconnect". My email app, Nine, is also not pushing as often when the app isn't open either causing a bit of delay in receiving emails.
Has anyone else noticed their apps not sleeping the same and losing connectivity since Nougat / S8.

I have noticed this too, also happened on my Pixel.

So possibly a Nougat issue then?

Yep, I almost gave up on this phone until I found that you should disable optimization for import push apps. Ever since I did this, no more delays.

Just did this for Nine and Facebook Messenger. Will let you know how I make out. Thanks so much!!

So far, Facebook Messenger has not disconnected when the phone is sleeping. Will be able to confirm Nine back to normal tomorrow once I get a bunch of emails.

MI Note 2 won't notify me (Snapchat, Outlook in particular)

My MI Note 2 has since I bought it in march been behaving kinda strange. Sometimes it works as you'd excpect, but unfortunately most of the time it doesn't notify me when it should.
I'm coming from a Nexus 6P which gives me notifications in a matter of hundreds whenever I get a new mail, facebook-notification or snapchat. The Note 2 sometimes give me old facebook-notifications, sometimes snaps, and occationally email-notifications. I've noticed the last weeks that if I reboot my phone, it has a tendency to update me more often, i.e. notifying like 30% of the snapchats I get, but then it just get worse over time.
I've manually disabled MIUIs restriction on background activity for Snapchat, Outlook and Android Wear (which by the way also doesn't keep connected to my watch), but this doesn't seem to help. I've granted the apps access to everything they want, but this doesn't help either.
Any ideas what's wrong?
Running stock, original, stable MIUI 8.2.6.0 - newest update available OTA.

It's particular to MIUI for notification (gor some problem with Snpachat or Aquamail)
You have to do this:
Go to Security app -> Battery Saver -> Choose the app (Snapchat or Outlook) and choose No Restriction.
Reboot and test normally it's good

I did all those things but my work email application [MaaS 360 ] doesn't send notifications :'(.

Question [Bug] Notifications not working after OTA update to 1.5.2

Hey everyone,
After updating my device to 1.5.2 last tuesday, it seems like almost all of my apps can't send notifications anymore.
So my Phone 1, that I've had since November 2022, has not been showing almost all of my notifications since I've updated it to 1.5.2 (unrooted, OTA, rooted), the only exceptions are chat apps (like Whatsapp, Messages), but apps like Tiktok, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, Banking apps have been not showing any notifications at all.
Is anyone experiencing the same issue as me? Or does anyone have a solution to this? I've already tried reseting my phone to factory settings without any luck I'm afraid.
