Hello everybody,
I have to reuse my dear old Mi2, unfortunately it seems that the bands are locked, I'm stuck in EDGE mode and I've tried anything to make it reach the 3G.
Updating modem, factory reset etc.
Many years ago, I remember that I have to use some specific qualcomm tools to enable more radio bands.
Does anybody still have the tools/guideline to do it ?
Every link I had was on fileshare or this kind of old website.
Thanks for the sharing,
Cheers
Xen
Seems nobody have this tools on a virtual machine or something else, time to get a new phone then :'(
Do you try Mokee ROM?
Mokee 9 OR 10 have the 3G....

Hi guys !
I've just bought a samsung galaxy s4 (i9505) (a used one not new) and i flashed Imperium v7 and modem GNF1 and bootloader GNF1 (initially the phone was on stock 4.2.2 and the problem was already there).
My problem is that i don't get the network i rarely see two or three bars but it directly goes to zero (i can see the no network sign) and stays like that until a reboot (as said it drops to no network very fast).
So my question, is it software ? (should i flash the latest samsung stock firmware ?) or is it hardware ? (replace the internal network ship ?)
Or is it a common problem on S4 i9505 and no solution cannot be found ? :crying:
Could it be related to CSC ?
Anyway, i hope anybody can help me because i really like this phone and the rom that i just installed ..
Feel free to ask me about additional informations.
EDIT : I already tried :
1) the modem+bl FNDA => same result
2) force the phone to gsm only => same result (maybe better but even it solves the problem there is no point to not having 3g activated all the time)

It's going to be pretty difficult to narrow this down with what you've posted. You say the problem was "already there" when you got the phone -- how long did you use it on the stock 4.2.2 rom before flashing a new one? Did you see exactly the same behavior before you started mucking with it?
Hi ! Finally an answer So i used it for about 3 days and i really can tell that it is the same behaviour
My fear is that it may be related to hardware .. I am gonna try to flash the latest samsung stock firmware (with its csc and modem) ?
Anyway any idea ??

In general I'd say it's worth getting the phone to "current" stock, or as close to it as possible, and seeing what kind of situation you're in (i.e. if the behavior disappears or changes in any way). If you're seeing it on every configuration, it seems reasonable to suspect that it could be a hardware issue -- especially given that you got the phone used.
Perhaps someone else knows of a more definitive test you can try.
Hey ! Thanks for the idea ! already flashed the latest samsung firmware and same problem .. i stayed in touch with the guy that sold it to me so he took it back to samsung sav where his friend (who work there) told him that this is a famous bug in the i9505 4g serie and that the only solution is a
nvm restore (something like that). Of course he'll do it for free cause we agreed that if a problem come out he'll have to solve it on his own.
Anyway, i hope to get it back tomorrow or monday ! I'll let you know what happened as soon as i get it back !
solution?
Were you able to solve the problem? in case u were, how? i have the same issue sometimes i have 3g network, then it goes to gprs then edge, sometimes when im connected to wifi i cant receive calls, but i can do calls, any idea?
Hello everyone,
A Note 4 N9108V end up to my hands, but after using it i realised it cannot properly operate in my network.
It is a snapdragon variant, single-sim version for China Mobile, has lot of Chinese stuff totally useless if you are outside China and does not have Google apps also.
I manage to root the device, install custom CWM recovery, install a MIUI7 ROM that is quite good, install Google but still have problem with 3G coverage (and LTE ofcourse since in China LTE is different than EU)
I have 3G coverage, but if i will move to another location i will not be able to make calls, and i will also appear as unreachable if someone is calling me. Also data connection will not work. Later, it may work correctly for a while.
In GSM mode is working perfectly
I took it to a local repair center to check for hardware problem, they say that it is probably the baseband (modem) software that is designed specific for the China Mobile network, or there is a bug.
I tried all the available official ROMs and modems for this device (4.4.4, 5.0.1, 5.1.1) but nothing improved.
The only thing i manage to do is to have this amazing phone working only in GSM mode....
It is like having a Ferrari with pedals.
I am thinking if it is somehow possible to load the modem file for the EU model (N910F), and this may "unlock" the needed frequencies to operate correctly. Or even, if it possible to load the entire N910F or similar non-branded Note 4 formware to the phone, since i suppose the hardware is the same.
I tried to load this modem file and the n910F firmware with Odin but is not accepted, the procedure failed.
Any ideas, proposals etc?? (except of hammering the device, this will be my last option)
Thanks in advance
Hi all!
I've been gifted a 900F to replace my S3.
Went ahead and made all the changes to realize that it does not support Band 4 AWS, therefore I'm stuck on mostly 2g.
I've found a manual on how to unlock all bands on the 900F but it was written in 2014 and I'm not sure is valid any longer.
I've managed to root the phone, install CM 13 but I cannot access the hidden menu to activate the Diagnostic mode on USB.
Cianogen does not have any hidden menu option so I don't know how to be able to wite the NV values accordingly.
Has anoyne managed to follow the instructions recently? Should I change the ROM to something else?
Ar there any new prottections that make following the guide impossible this days?
I've found a user that posted on the forum not long ago having a similar proglem but there are no replys.

Hey, guys.
I'm currently working on a friend's Nexus 6P and trying to gather some information I may have missed.
Troubleshooting:
Since a few weeks it's not possible to connect to UMTS, HSDPA or LTE (T-mobile). In addition the connection to GSM is pretty unstable.
What I've done so far:
- Factory Reset (problem persisted)
- Unlocked bootloader and flashed custom ROM (Firehound) (problem persisted)
-flashed various vendors and radios (at this point I was able to get a stable GSM connection without "only emergency calls" but still nothing but EDGE is available)
- changed frequencies, preferred network and so on
- placed the SIM in my OnePlus 5 - works flawlessly
- deleted APNs and set it up manually
- changed settings in security to none and rebooted - nothing happened (I read this was a bug in Oreo, so I gave it a try)
I'm pretty frustrated right now. This phone is really annoying. It had a hardware defect just before the warranty was gone (eMMC chip) and please... It can't be another hardware defect right now...
I'm looking forward to any kind of (software) help and hints, I would really appreciate that!
Thanks in advance.
Try using old marshmallow stock rom. It works fine with that version. I also had the same problem with latter versions

Thanks a lot for your suggestion!
Can you recommend any ROM to me?
Never mind... I didn't read "stock" I'll try, thank you!
Okay, so I flashed a factory image (the earliest one from Google, 6.0) and still there's only EDGE available.
Guess it's a hardware defect again.
Shame on such an expensive device. Congrats to you, Google and Huawei
I've been having a horrible couple days now On Wednesday I got a new data SIM for my Axon 7 (ZTE A2017G_8346) but it had less than 8kbps speed since apparently the Axon 7 auto switches to 2G when 3G signal is low. So I found this guide online that told me
to dial *#*#4636#*#* and make some advanced selections (WCDMA only) there. In the end I managed to mistakenly change the radio band to US and now I can't use a SIM card at all. My Axon 7 is a clean non rooted phone and has Android version 6.0.1
Can anyone help me to reset the radio band to default? I read that flashing a stock ROM might fix this but I have no idea what that means. If I need to "flash a stock ROM" then can someone also please give me a link to the stock ROM? I also read that a factory reset won't help. Another solution I found on this forum here for a Moto G5 looked promising but I couldn't get through step 9 since I got an error saying the command failed.
I can't go to a service center because I bought the phone in Germany and I'm now living somewhere else. I really need some help!! Thanks in advance!
Check here this might help

besides your problem with the radio, exactly why are you still in 6.0.1?? That's 2 years old

I didn't really think about upgrading since I was happy with the stock version.
