I have:
- SM-J500FN phone
- Android 6.0.1 (stock Samsung)
Specs:
- 1.5 GB RAM
- 8 GB internal memory
- 2 GB /system, 4.7 GB /data
- KNOX 0x1
I need:
- long battery life
- low RAM usage
- ANT+ must work
- Bluetooth LE must work
- GPS must work accurate
- more space for apps (needs repartitioning?)
Questions:
1. Is it a good idea to switch from stock 6.0.1 to custom ROM when it comes to RAM usage, performance and battery life?
2. Which ROM do you recommend? Which is most lightweight and has battery optimizations? How about SEPerience? Seems good but in thread it's reported to use more RAM.
3. Is it safe to use stock 6.0.1? Any known vulnerabilities?

In which order would you rank the available ROMs when it comes to battery life. Stock, HC, CM7 etc? And would there be a difference in performance running the ROM from SD or internal memory?
I thought the minimum was 512mb, do you remove stuff under the hood or how is it done?
Also, how is it possible to run Kitkat on such low internal storage?
I remember a month ago nobody even thought of Kitkat but then androidarmv6 came in
Its possible

Of cource, it is possible! Our orginal RAM is 0.38 GB, but only 290 MB is user available! Even device than galaxy Y runs kitkat almost stable like Galaxy 5!
Infact, 500 MB RAM is used to run KK flawlesslt!

I think not
Android Jelly Bean Smartphone with 512MB of RAM can sometimes make the performance of the smartphone to be slow, let alone KitKat on 300MB RAM?
Sorry for bad english
I'm currently running KitKat on my TassVe, which is essentially a Totoro under a Galaxy Mini shell, and I can say that it's smooth most of the time. Typing can be a bit laggy, and some apps (such as Titanium Backup) can take a long time to boot. But overall still smooth enough for daily use. Only complaint is the epic power consumption of the ROM.
Oh and this is the experimental build. Before asking, no, I will not provide links to it.
Hi Everybody,
I`m using custom rom(s) in my S7 Edge(G935FD). After upgrading to Android N form MM, I never use Stock rom. Now I want to use the Stock N rom.
That`s why I need these informations :
1 About the performances and stabilty
2.About the battery lefe
3.Viper - working or not with stock kernel (Essential)
4. Goolge Assistance - working or not (Optional)
And obviously the suggesstions (if any) - should use the stock or stay in the custom rom ? it would be more helpful if you pls specify the build (stock),best for battery life.
BTW, my preference is stable permance with a decent battery life.
Now I`m using the custom rom (DPLT), because of some more battery. As I`ve noticed that the DQB7 is not so good for battery life. Though it has a nice battery when the device is in Idle, but it drains some more battery when the device is in use than DPLT. I`ve tried different custom kernels , but the result remains more or less the same (as I`ve noticed).
Any suggestions will be highly appretiated.
Please Suggest The best Rom for Today !!
I want rom that should have 200-300mb free ram after installing more than 30-40 apps on user profile .
which gives Flexability while playing games.
1gb model Halt or hangs most of the time. when the cache size become bigger in 4 to 5 days usage. (any sol for that is appreciated, temp sol is to clear from twrp recovery. )

Use mokee7.1.2 by dev_harsh!t. Very stable rom with around 400mb ram always free. Good battery backup. Smooth like butter with no lags. No crashes even. Recommended to try it once.
try Resurrection Remix or AICP by dev_harsh....
try CM13 by ED300 + Phantom Kernel + Xposed Modules with CPU OC to 2GHz/ GPU @ 720MHz (for your insane gaming requirements to run smooth) if you plan to go with Marshmallow otherwise with Nougat go with Resurrection Remix 5.8.4 by Harsh (its got all the required fixes and is up to date and even supports OTA Update however u can only flash custom kernel on Port)
Hi, i'm looking for the lightest rom for my A3 2016, it hasn't got a lot of ram, so it could be useful.
Which is in your opinion the best?
Or should i stop un-useful services on a Tw rom to free ram?

I use revolution os it's quicker than stock. And a good stable rom with features. Highly recommended.
Thank you. But i would like to have less feature with the highest lighteness of the rom. I need all the ram available.
Is it correct to think that an ancient version of the rom ( for example Lollipop) could be more light than an actual one?
I'm thinking about to come back to the first version of the original rom of the phone ...
what i have done to my A3 2016 is this (you need root ofc):
install package disabler pro - to disable all samsung bloatware apps.
install greenify - this saves a lot of battery and memory as well.
install the 8 core kernel, this will speed the phone up a bit.
run trimmer (fstrim) once in a while.
use nova launcher.
with this the phone is really snappy and battery lasts very long.
i have also installed xposed framework to use sdcard as internal (Xinternalsd module and greenify extended functions module).
