How to enter fastboot mode

Is there a repeatable way to enter fastboot mode? All I keep hearing about are people entering it by accident but there's never been a method to do it purposefully....and no I'm not referring to download mode. Thanks!

Fastboot Mode - Galaxy Tab A 2016

Hi,
i am trying to flash twrp recovery.
booting device in download mode -> heimdall can not detect the device
Ok why not use good old fastboot, but i can not boot to fastboot mode:
1. adb reboot bootloader -> device does just a reboot
2. selecting "reboot to bootloader" in stock recovery does only a reboot too ...
What I am doing wrong?
I solved the problem:
Fastboot is not working because of the locked bootloader.
Heimdall-flash from the debian packages is not working with this device - heimdall-flash under ubuntu did it ...
Can u pls tell me how u did it..... I want to unlock the bootloader of my T585. It only has (stock)recovery and download modes no Fastboot mode. pls bare with me I'm a noob with a bit of experience
Pls reply to this or contact me at [email protected]

Fastboot/download mode?

Does this phone have? Is there a way to boot into such mode so I can flash something via fastboot?
Power and volume down keys just lead to some test mode. Holding the volume down while connecting USB does nothing as well.
I'm just having the same prob with --U51
Thanks
Not meaning to necrorez a thread as the entire forum section is inactive...
On Y625-U21 the best way to enter fastboot mode is via adb:
- activate usb debug
- use "adb reboot bootloader"
you are now in fastboot mode. Notice that on the phone you won't see a special screen: just the huawei logo like it's stuck, but you can use fastboot to do what you want (unlock the bootloader since it won't require codes, run TWRP, flash TWRP etc etc...)

I am using Realme 3 pro but this is not working for me. As soon as I try to enter fastboot mode, error message shows that the image is corrupted. Any other way pls.
Never tried on realme as there is no need for edl as there is no tool provided by realme to flash its devices. But u can boot via adb reboot edl (doesn't work on xiaomi) fastboot reboot edl or fastboot oem edl . Or u can use twrp recovery if possible .
I was able to enter EDL mode through Orangefox recovery in Realme XT, but there's no option as it is in the fastboot mode. If i could enter EDL only through recovery, then its kinda useless since I won't even need EDL if my recovery is working.

Cannot go into the bootloader mode on my Galaxy tab SM-T285

Currently, I am trying to unlock bootloader using adb.
I installed adb and fastboot and checked everything until the CMD shows my device correctly.
And right after I type
"adb reboot bootloader"
my tablet just restart and does not go into the bootloader mode.
I also tried it manually, by pressing home+up+power button, but it also perform restart and no bootloader mode.
Does anyone knows why?
I checked all the settings in developer mode and cannot figure out why.

You can't unlock the bootloader with adb only with fastboot which doesn't work on Samsung. To unlock the bootloader on Samsung you have to enable OEM unlocking in developer options. Also Samsung doesn't have bootloader mode but instead they have Download mode which you can use tools like Odin or SmartSwitch to flash files. To get into Download mode use the command adb reboot download or use the button combination power + volumn down + home.
