Hi,
I have recently switched from an S4 with 4.4.2 installed to the new note 4. When connecting to my car stereo with the S4 via bluetooth the track names of songs playing in the music app and pandora would show up on the deck.
On the Note 4 i have no issues connecting to the deck but now theres no track names.
Is this to do with android 4.4.4?
Any ways to fix this?
Thanks in advance.
Seems to be so many variables in getting this to work. Always had problems with my Note 2... Works perfectly with Note 4 and Ford Mytouch Sync.
Try deleting the pairing on both sides and recreate it.
I thought i tried that but ill give it another go.
No one else have this issue or can say it definitely works with pioneer car stereos?

Didnt work
my pioneer head unit was the same, also i couldn't control it with the head unit.
I ended up updating the firmware on the head unit and it solved the problem, check to see if there is a firmware update for your headunit.

The problem is actually with the car stereo. It probably still runs Bluetooth 1.2 or something. I have the same problem in my 2012 Mazda 3. It has a dated Bluetooth. All I see is BT Audio, however it works fine on Ford sync and cars with more recent BT versions.
I have... inconsistent performance with this. If I am using the Play Music radio functionality, everything seems to work well. If I'm playing through an album though, it seems to get "stuck" on the first track played. The track duration updates but the track name does not. Pausing and resuming will get it to update.
With the same car and my Nexus 5 running the same Play Music version I do not run into this issue.
I've got a 2012 Honda Civic EX with the factory iMid (not navigation) system.
Was using an HTC Evo 4g LTE with a custom 4.4.3 ROM and was able to get track names and control music from steering wheel and connected via bluetooth.
Got Note 4 and lost abilty to see track names / artist info. I can still control the phone via steering wheel.
Unfortunately, Honda issues no updates for my factory stereo. If I go 3rd party unit, I loose steering wheel and bluetooth integration with the onboard mic, etc.
I am hoping that Lollipop will correct some of these things or that Samsung will issue a fix. I've seen a lot of posts around the web where people are having the same issue: prior phone worked fine. New note 4 phone lost track names. This was affecting lots of car manufacturers, factory stereos, 3rd party stereos, etc. Hard to narrow it down to one issue, other than all new notes having a new BT stack.
Just throwing my experience in the mix.

dlitwin,
Take your car to Honda, some Civics/Accords/CR-V, etc have an update for the Handsfreelink module.

Well, a quick update here. My T-Mobile Note 4 received a system update yesterday, and after that the Bluetooth works as expected with my car.

Not really a stereo problem if the thing that changed was the phone. It should be backwards compatible.
Hopefully theres an update in the works to make it come back. Its illegal here to touch your phone while driving and showing the track names on the deck helps with not having to touch it.
Might have to look at using NFC on my cradle to make the screen stay on, turn on bluetooth and connect the music app.

Anyone found a fix?
First off I apologize for bringing up an old thread. I recently purchased the Pioneer DEH-4800BT head unit so that I could leverage the Bluetooth capabilities. Everything works great, with the exception of the unit reading my music library via Bluetooth. If I restart my Note 4 and then connect it via Bluetooth to the Pioneer head unit, it reads the library and allows me to browse my music as it should. However, if I turn off my vehicle thus disconnecting the Bluetooth connection, the unit will not read my library without me having to restart my Note 4. Has anyone ever encountered this? I have a feeling there is something on my Note 4 preventing the unit from reading the library a second time without restarting. Unfortunately hours of Google searches on this subject have left me with no solutions. What can I do to fix this? Thanks in advance!
Bought this unit from Amazon
JOYING New Android 6.0 Aftermarket Head Unit 2GB RAM In Dash Stereo for Car Single Din Touch Screen Car Radio Media Player with GPS Navigation Bluetooth HD 1080P Resolution & Wifi, 7 Inch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071R5PK3Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_pt4JzbNJER09W
It has the detachable screen. I also purchased the wireless SWC accessory. Wiring was simple and programming was easy.
The problem I'm having now is tht my seek buttons trigger more than 1 app at a time.
For example, if im llaying spotify and hit NEXT, spotify goes to the next song and pauses, and then the radio plays something from stitcher. So annoying...
This is after closing the apps, clearing processes, and etc. I have to go in to the menu and force close the other app for the app i have open to function properly.
Never had this issue with other android radios, what do i do?
Is it a sound priorty issue? Nothing in the menu or manual

I recently got one Chinese (ebay) android head / Allwinner T3 Quad Core based, so far it is working OK but I just noticed every time I try to minimize the radio app and go back to the car launcher interface (Car Launcher AG) it simply close completely instead of letting the radio background audio.
Is there any other radio app I can install or any special setting to do this? I dont get this problem if I try it using the regular music player (Poweramp music player)
Thanks!
BTW, this unit is not able to present the RDS info either
Simillar problem.
Simillar problem.
same issue did you guys figure it out?
Hello good, I recently bought a Chinese android radio from AliExpress from Gianlion, I would like to find a ROM to have in case I have problems in the future. I leave you some screenshots of the characteristics of the radio.
I would also like to be able to modify some apps that are installed since the bluethoot, radio and music app are very bad. I would like to change the radio one for navradio + and the music one for poweramp, from bluethoot I haven't found a better app.
I have Poweramp installed on the radio, but it does not dim or pause the music when I make or receive a call, but if I use the browser at the same time it does dim me when I receive browser notifications and if I use it at the same time as the radio that comes from the source, the signals are mixed, the music is not cut off, but if I open the navradio app, it does stop the music. I'm using the Launcher agama car launcher in case it has something to do with it.
I hope your help.
Hello, I have an Android Head-Unit from Wondefoo that I purchased a while ago.
Everything was fine until possibly a recent (or not?) Android Auto update, where upon launch of Android Auto via the Zlink app, the car radio is turned off. I have to manually navigate out to Android Auto to turn on the radio again before going back to AA.
Its a pain to do this on every car start. Does anyone know a fix for this? I tried uninstalling Google app updates but that didn't fix it. I also disabled the AA launching of music apps, and they didn't fix it either.
Hi did you find a fix for this? I have the same issue
