SM-T531 matisse3G: OEM unlock missing. - Galaxy Tab 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A friend of mine asked me to install a newer Android in his Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.0 3G (SM-T531, codename matisse3g), which is pretty old and still has a Kitkat install. So, as I have some experience with Android hacking, I got the tablet, gave it a factory reset and unlocked the Developer Options tab in the Settings app. All tutorials that I found, say that I should turn on the OEM Unlock option to unlock the bootloader, but there isn't this option in Developer Options tab.
I tried several workarounds, like setting a earlier date and time, turning off the Auto Update option (tip: there isn't this option too)... But I was unsuccessful. There is not an OEM unlock option, neither a Auto Update option in Developer Options tab, in the Settings app.
Any ideas would be welcome. BTW, I'm a Linux user, so I don't have any Windows here (besides into a Virtual Machine) to use Odin.
Cheers,
Ricardo.

Hi, these old Samsung devices don't have unlock bootloader option. Just install a custom recovery (TWRP or lineage - for this last one, to flash it through odin, you need to pack the renamed recovery.img file into an uncompressed .tar one with a random name)

Samsung J120W FRP fix
I had the same issue. I fixed with odin and a download of the phones stock firm ware. I put the firmware .tar in the CSC section in Odin

Any luck?
I'm dealing with the same scenario. I've researched a bit and found many instructions impossible to execute.
Plenty of the methods that are supposed to work seem contorted and overly complicated.
I'm scratching my head, wondering why it isn't a straightforward process involving flashing from download mode.
It's just gotta be that simple. As it is the unit I'm dealing with won't recognize from adb, so I'm limited.
IMO the info pointing to a solution is somewhere in a sea of malware and ad-laden apps and sites, now that having a custom ROM is more commonplace with the non-programmer end-user.
You can use Miracle Box. It can bypass FRP but if you want use this program, you must have a Miracle Box dongle.
yes odin method does still work but dont forget you need to do each step in the correct order and if it doesn't work and you try again you must CLOSE odin, unplug the phone then re-start odin and do the steps again

as for what version you need to download that would depend on your carrier - that said - i downloaded and flashed the one for rogers canada and it worked even though im with chatr so the carrier may not matter so much? here are a couple of the canadian versions you can look for
Canada rogers - J120WVLU1APC8 - RWC
Canada Sasktel - J120WVLU1APC8 - BWA
Canada Telus - J120WVLU1APC8 - TLS
help
i have this same problem if anyone can help me i would really appreciate it i have a samsung j120w with chatr so i believe its the telus firmware i need
found a couple threads and thanks to this site i am confident i will be able to unlock this device using odin or twrp or a combination of the two im not sure i will follow the instructions and repost here i see the key to skipping the frp is On your phone, Open Settings > Developer options > Enable OEM unlock and Enable USB debugging.
hopefully this will go smooth thanks to all of you
i cannot access the phones menus as it is stuck at the 'enter your previous email screen'
cannot access the phones internal memory so i cannot put twrp on there. in recovery mode it wont access the sd card i tried placing it there as well. sending it with adb gets a blocked custom binary by frp lock error.
any help would be appreciated i spent 7 hours on this last night and got nowhere
I think the easiest way is to enable Settings >Developer Options > Enable the option OEM Unlock. This will allow the device to be OEM unlocked.
How to enable Developer Options:
Got to Settings > About Device > Software Info > and tap on Build Number 5 times, it unlocks the Developers options..

i am stuck at the google frp lock i cannot get into the phone any other suggestions?
Can we resurrect this coffin or should I start another thread?
I need to bypass FRP. Not familiar with android whatsoever but was able to fumble through ODIN flashes unsuccessfully. (Got PASS but FRP is still there).

Secure Check enabled after flash, and no OEM Unlock

I was having trouble booting after flashing LightROM for whatever reason, so I thought it'd be best to reflash stock firmware and try again.
Unfortunately, it seems as though Secure Check is enabled, stopping me from flashing new ROMs or downgrading at all. The OEM Unlock option isn't in the Developer Settings panel, and none of the usual methods involving changing the data and time work.
Would like some advice as to what to do now. I'd rather not wait 7 days IRL just to get the option IF the option will even show.
Currently using SM-G950F, on G950FXXU4DSBA from Updato.
Secure check verifies the file for modifications if its modified you cant flash it

Hi! I've inherited a SM-T590 (among various other devices) from a deceased relative and try to figure out how to unblock them. I flashed the engineering image and turned on ADB but I don't see how to get rid of the FRP from there. What would be the next steps to disable the FRP entirely?
Thanks!
Once you flash the eng ROM, which you have, go into developer options and enable OEM unlock. Then factory reset within the settings. After that you can flash stock and frp will be disabled.
That worked! Thanks a lot!
Hello,
I know this thread is old. I have almost the same problem, except this is a familly kid who forget his lock screen password, and he used a dummy email adresse to create google account... And android version is 10, not 9.
So we did a factory reset from the recovery menu. But, now, we have to enter the google account, and of course, he doesn't remember.
I tried some (non trusted) tools as samsung frp tool, but not working. I tried a combination rom (i don't know if this is the good one), but in the download mode, the device tells me that :
frp is enabled, ignore pit download.
I tried to flash latest version 10 stock rom, but no change.
Is it worth to try to flash with a stock rom version 8 or 9 ? But to get these roms, i have to pay, but no garantie that this will work...
The device is not in debug mode, of course, and oem locked.
In the second post of this thread, there was a google drive link, but it's dead.
Do i have to put this galaxy tab a tm-t590 to the trash, or is there some hope to unlock it?
Finally did it.
I downgraded using odin in Android 9 using a stock rom, for 2.99$.

I tried again samsung frp tool that I trust now .
I followed this video:
But the step *#0*# didn't work. So i tried to launch some apps from the web launcher.
I didn't remember exactly how I did it, but I succeded to create a new google account.
I restarted the device, and and i'm now in android. I activated debug mode and disabled oem mode.
I will try to flash something new and maybe alternative firmware.
I don't know which, but I will search here

SM-935A FRP Lock, am I screwed? (accidentally upgraded to Binary A)

Purchased the phone off guy on Facebook. It appears that he wiped it without realizing about the FRP lock. It had 7.0 on it. I tried all the tricks you see on the youtube videos to bypass FRP but none of them worked. I know how to use ODIN and Z3X, so I flashed an 8.0 firmware thinking I would try some of the bypass methods for 8.0. Those didn't work so then I tried to move back to 7.0.....and then I learned that you can't downgrade bootloaders. In odin it would say Fused 10 > Binary 4, for example. To be clear, the firmware that I am on is G935UUESACSF1.
The next thing I tried was to load a combination firmware. I used G935AUCUAASF1. That allowed me to load up "Factory Binary" and within that firmware I have access to the settings menu and IMEI dialer. I went into the menu, enabled developer options, and made sure that USB debugging was enabled. There was no option for "OEM Unlock". I used the dialer to bring up USB settings and set it to MTP+ADB. Then I brought up Z3X 29.5 thinking I would use the FRP unlock feature there. The SM-935A does not have a feature for that, but the SM-935T and F models do. So I took a risk and pulled up the T model and I selected FRP Reset. It did it's thing and it said that it was successful. I followed the instructions to do a factory data wipe directly after.
I wasn't sure what to do next, so I put the phone back into download mode and used ODIN to flash the 8.0 firmware back on. When that booted up, nothing had changed..it was still FRP locked. I'm not sure if I'm missing something in the process or what I should do next, if anything can be done. It seems I'm very limited in what I can do because from what it seems, I can't downgrade to a lower bootloader binary so I can't, for example, go back to 7.0 or 6.0.1. I can't even go back to earlier versions of 8.0 and try some of the tricks for those (like the S Voice Terms and Conditions trick..S Voice isn't listed during startup on my firmware)...
Anything that I can do? Any help is appreciated.
Can you get into custom recovery? If you can, flash no verity opt encrypt and it will be fixed or if not, also flash RMM bypass

Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Wifi SM-P610 Exynos International model - Missing OEM Bootloader Unlock Toggle - Need Help

Hi, Everyone
I'm new to this community. I'm having trouble gaining access to the OEM Bootloader Unlock option in developer options. Here are things I've tried already based on what I researched before my attempt.
Android 10 is the current OS installed after unboxing.
1. Disable Automatic Date and time
2. Select a date more than 7 days prior to current date of attempt.
3. Under Settings > About Phone > Software Information. Select/Tap Build Number 7-8 times to unlock Developer Option.
4. Disable Auto Update System (Apply Updates When Device Restarts) - *This was somehow already disabled the first time I entered Developer options*
5. Under Software Updates > Disable Automatic Updates -*This was also already disabled on unboxing and it says Automatically download updates over Wifi. It does not say Automatic Updates*
6. Reboot device and return to Developer Options after booting to OS.
7. The OEM Bootloader Unlock option should appear greyed out at this point. Toggle it to unlock bootloader with consideration that it will wipe the device data.
These are the steps I've found and tried with no success in gaining access to the Bootloader unlock option. I am also certain that my device is the international model with Exynos chipset and Mali-G72 GPU. Something else to note, I did uncheck many default options tied to improving privacy on the device before attempting the steps to gain access to the bootloader unlock option. I do not know if that would make a difference. If there is any other information I can provide to get some help with this problem, please add it to your reply. Excited to hear from the community.
Did you figure it out yet (I hope so)?
I came across your question on googling the missing OEM-Unlock on my device^^
For me basically steps 6-13 from here brought up the missing option in developer options.
After unlocking I had to do this again, to be able to flash the custom recovery
