So today I was trying to update my Yoga with YT2-830LC_S100064_150710_ROW_KKtoL, as I had KitKat 4.4.2 and wanted Lollipop due to the fact that some apps from Play Store are not accessible to KK users. Why did I use fw for 830LC while I have 830L? It's because in the past it was flashed with fw just to get the access the call functionality.
I followed all the steps from that russian site while flashing it via Phone Flash Tool, but after receiving two notifications "cannot remove /cache/fastboot.tmp" the flashing process failed. I tried to flash it once again, but nothing happened, so I disconnected Yoga.
It seems that the Droidboot has been totally removed, as I can't access it and the only information after turning it on is "press esc in 1 seconds to skip startup.nsh Shell>".
It's possible to enter the FastBoot and DNX mode, but when I try to flash it once again I get the error "wrong device state".
I even tried to restore the bios using restore-kitkat-bios-830-1050-v2, but it's getting stucked at "Preparing to push files".
Any ideas how to restore the bios and make it work again?

Hello everybody, I was trying to revert to a 4.x rom because bluetooth tethering was not working... anyway I used Intel Phone Flash Tool and it seems like he failed to flash boot.bin but restarted anyway
SO I only have the Intel BIOS, I can access all the settings, but I cannot start it in Fastboot mode (it just hangs on FastBoot Starting...) or anything that resembles Android.
Still this BIOS seems more a PC to me than a tablet so I am posting here because maybe there is someway to attach an USB OTG (for example) and boot something from there.
@ionioni is working on a safe downgrade path. We did mine but it could be a disaster if not followed correctly. Your other choice is Lenovo repair support. When i bricked mine, it only took 6 days to get it back in my hands. You could also try the steps here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62237383&postcount=5

Thank you very much @workdowg, I passed by that thread, just "DNX" mode does not work on my tablet.
So Repair Support it is.
It's very sad such an awesome tablet has so poor ROM that people has to downgrade it...

that is DNX mode!!! that message translates to: i DNX have started and now i am waiting for YOU to give me a (fast)boot image to start... so that message is exactly the message indicating that you ARE in dnx mode.
updated: read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/thinkpad-tablet/general/yoga-tab-2-830-1050-1380-to-kitkat-t3240487
edit:
before anything:
1. download/extract the files attached to this post, now start your tablet (using the Pwr+VolUp+VolDown) to get to that somehow confusing "Fastboot starting..." message = DNX mode (you must get to that message before continuing!)
2. run the extracted tmp-root-1050F-lollipop.exe file (i am assuming you are on the X64 = Lollipop firmware as that screen pictures you attached shows), should do some stuff and in the end if all well will drop you to a root shell (in that post theres a PrtScr for reference), just follow the messages it's pretty easy. should the exe get stuck/not work put your tablet again in DNX mode and try the other file tmp-root-1050F-kitkat.exe. (this means somehow the bios got downgraded partially on your attempt to return to kitkat). this is just a test to see how to move on, it will not fix nor change anything on your tab, after you reboot it will be in the same state as before (that is if you don't do stuff in that root shell of course)
- report back which one worked (gived you a shell)
- also do you want to go back on kitkat or do you want to stay on lollipop? is important to know as the steps are different
Hello everyone,
I'm writing here, because accidentally i turned my zenfone 2 into a brick, following an indian youtuber on this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJPEc1NG_k8&t=185s&list=FLJXXdfRBIfVwi7iWKHUJJrw&index=1 while trying to update to Nougat 7.1.
The guide is very well done and precise, in fact the fault is totally mine because i accidentally launched by using ADB, the bootloader of the Zenfone 2 ZE550ML then the screen became blank on power up...
So i followed this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/guide-brick-soft-hard-bricked-zenfone-2-t3284256 stopping before point 2) and at least i reached to get out from the permanent blank screen.
Now i'm in trouble because if i use ASUS flash tools (after installing Intel Driver), i am able to see the phone and trying to install on it the .raw file, but at the end of a while, it says "Flash image Failure (Wrong image format).
Then i tried the way "2", installing it by using fastboot, i unzipped the official ROM for ZE551ML and tried to install one per one as the described in the guide, the various parts of the SO, but each time i send a command (checked many times the sintax), the software starts downloading it on the phone and then stops, saying everytime with every file "Failed".
Thinked also to ADB, but by using "adb devices" it doesn't recognize any device...
So... may the bootloader given by the guide be wrong? or an old one version? What can i do?
If i try to get into recovery mode, it just shows an USB cable forever... i'm costricted to repeat the first part of the operation with xFsTK Downloader.
I thank you for any help or suggestion.

Hello, i got Frp lock text, tried going to download mode and flashing a stock firmware, when my phone goes halfway throught it restarts and goes into download mode, now it messed up my boot and stuff and it only shows that "An error has occured while updating the device software.
Use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch pc software.
I can't flash it, it keeps rebooting, please help, thank you.
Use kies 3 and under tools select "software upgrade" put in your serial number and model then follow the steps it should work.
Make sure you don't grab or touch the phone when connected to pc because Odin is finicky like that.
Hello,
I rooted my Samsung Galaxy On5 a couple months ago, and I used it fine during that time, however, I recently deleted the operating system from TWRP and now I am having trouble installing a new operating system. I have tried many different suggestions, including:
1) Using ODIN to flash a new ROM (when I attempt to start flashing with ODIN, it will almost immediately fail with an error message on ODIN; note I was in download mode on the On5 for this attempt[power+volume down+home])
2) Trying to unlock fastboot and install the stock ROM from there
Please note that this method has not worked. When I try to get to fastboot, I will run into an error at the very start of my task. I use a mac, so after I have changed directories to my Android SDK Platform Tools and type in ./fastboot devices, nothing will come up on my terminal (no serial numbers, not even an error message saying "No devices found", just nothing).
3) Using Samsung Smart Switch or Samsung Kies. When I try this method, the software will spit out an error message saying my device can not be recovered (although I have used Kies and SmartSwitch before with this device, even after I had rooted it, so maybe this error message is just because the device is getting old and support is being discontinued)
4) Installing an operating system directly through TWRP. When I try this, I get several error messages, whether it be that the signature verification is bad or the zip format or whatever is bad. I have tried several different sites with different ROM options, and keep getting error messages, so I gave up on this option.
If I hold down the power button alone, the Samsung logo will pop up, wait a second then disappear, only to be replaced with a blank screen (although the screen is on as I can see a tiny bit of light coming from the black screen). If I hold down Power+Volume Up+Home I am taken to the TWRP recovery screen. If I hold down Power+Volume Down+Home I am taken to Download Mode (Note, in download mode there are a couple lines of text, one of these lines says Secure Download: Enabled. Does this make a difference?)
Just to clarify, I do not have any operating system installed on the phone, and my main goal right now is to be able to boot into Android, after that, I will be able to navigate the waters myself and restore the phone the rest of the way.
Thank you in advance for your help and if you have any questions for me please ask them.
The device model number is SM-G550T (This is a T-mobile phone)
Howdy,
I've used the Tab A for a couple of months now as literally a daily driver, since I modified it to fit into the multimedia slot in my car. It was rooted, had TWRP and even Viper4Android on it.
Long story short:
Since it's laggy I thought to test project Treble on it, since it's supported.
I wiped the tablet with TWRP and installed arm64 A/B (since it's Android 10) and it wouldn't boot anymore. It showed "Samsung Galaxy Tab A", shut off, vibrated and repeat. Also tried "Only A". Same result.
I thought to install it via fastboot. Since TWRP effectively replaced Fastbook afaik, I tried to flash the original "BL" downloaded form sammobile for this exact model. Flashed it, it succeeded and then...
It turns on with a blue screen that essentially says "This phone has been modified and is locked" with red letters on top stating "SECURE CHECK FAIL: recovery.img"
I can't get into download, it always jumps to this message. I tried all possible combinations, plugged the tablet into my pc while holding down buttons - nothing.
If I hold the pwr+down for circa 10-15 seconds while in this screen, it reboots and goes to a slightly different message stating: "SECURE CHECK FAIL: boot.img"
My PC doesn't recognize any USB devices, not even in the device manager.
What should I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
(I guess no music on the daily commute tomorrow lol)
Tried a Samsung JIG adapter. Still no success
Finally good news!
I tried it again with new combinations.
Turns out, if you hold all three buttons (pwr, down and up) eventually DOWNLOAD mode appears.
Worked here and am flashing stock now.
For rooting on latest bootloader (Rev:4, U4) which is the one you've installed already, you must purchase a subscription on this page and download that file for root:
https://support.halabtech.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=file&id=452768
As you described, it seem that you updated the bootloader and there's no way to get back at Rev:3 U3 bootloader, having the same trouble in rooting terms, I just hope a developer or an advance user that have a subscription in such page can help us and share the file that is on that page
