Hello, I have problem with mac randomization. My phone no change mac for networs wifi.
It has a different address assigned to different networks and cannot be changed for a given network. Does anyone know how to make it change?

Hi guys,
i am brand new to android, and love it. i used win mob before.
but i have a question. i tried to set my ip adress manually to a specific adress so i can connect to a wireless router, which has no dhcp activated.
i can find the wireless network and can connect, but the dhd always says "optaining ip adress from server" but it cant because i set it manually?
does that mean i can connect to this router?
any ideas or thoughts?
btw: i edit my ip setting in the wirleless-settings -> advanced or is there any other way where i have to do it too? is there another connection method for non dhcp routers?
Hi guys ..
How can i set a static ip in WP7 on HD2 ??
currently not possible
holy crap thanks for the reminder! as i kept thinking something was missing.
iphones (no matter how simple) could do it, and here I was thinking Microsoft is the king of networking....
Actually if you really want static IP, you can "push" to it. If you find out your wlan MAC address, use your router to assign only the IP which you select.
To find out your MAC address is simple: connect your phone to wifi, connect to router and see n the logs (even the dumiest routers keeps logs of what wifi cards are connected to it)
Just a small idea....

Yeah my router thinks there are 5 mac addresses logged onto its wifi, but each time wp7 has reset its created a new mac.
Just Got a focus from america (i live in the uk). Everything seems to work, except the wifi. It just says connection unsuccessful your phone couldnt reach the wi-fi network. . does anyone know how to solve this issue ?
Is this a home router or work router your trying to connect to? Some people have reported that having the router assign a static IP worked, because DHCP was assigning a IP address that was already assigned to another device.
If it's a corporate router MAC address filtering maybe enabled & your phone's MAC address may not be in the list of allowed devices. It could also be that you haven't loaded the required certificate to allow you use of the router.
Hello,
Today i've installed android on my HTC HD2, it works like a charm, except the WIFI. When i try to connect to my wireless network, it keeps saying: obtaining IP-address and nothing happens..
I've tried two different roms and three different radio firmwares without any succes...
Who knows what i can do to solve this problem?
Thanks!
Is your network set to use static IPs? I.E no dhcp server?
Or, is the network in ad hoc mode rather than infrastructure? Not 100%sure but seem to remember that causing issues.
the ip is dynamic i think. do i have to change it to static?
if the modem's security is WEP change it to WPA.

Click to collapse
No need, I was just suggesting a scenario where dhcp wasn't issuing IP addresses.
security is wpa-psk i think
Hi,
The Randomized MAC option in Wifi settings is not working - its changed once, but after that its static - not changing.
All help is welcome.
Ideally I want MAC to change every time I connect to wifi - is this feasible?
