What is the best setup for performance on this device? (grouper)
I'm currently using some Android 7.1 ROM and I wanted to stay on this version (or upgrade), but I also wanted to use Parrot mod hahah I don't thinks that's possible, right?
So what is the best performance option that has good app compatibility?
Go for Lineage if possible.

So Lineage based on Android 7 works with Parrot Mod ?
I cannot tell you specifically about every phone but I think you should take a look at Lineage if you want performance.
You will probably find some information on XDA.

There is no such thing as "best ROM", regardless of whatever device or ROM is in question.
It's a matter of choice, all I can say is keep trying the different ROMs and/or kernels that are available for your device until you find one that fits your needs and serves your purposes, or at least, a ROM that gets as close to what you want/need as you can get out of what is available for your device.
It doesn't really do any good to ask others about what ROM to use, all they can do is tell you the experience they had with "this" or "that" ROM, but that doesn't help you because you and they may not have the same things installed. The additional apps and mods that you or they have installed on your devices after installing the ROM effect how the device performs, you or they might have other things installed along with the ROM that give you different results than they get, even though you both are using the same ROM.
It's like looking for a new car, the car that someone else likes or works well for them, might not be the car that works for your needs or you may not even like the car that they like at all.

Hi all,
I want to install a custom ROM on my OnePlus 5. I want it to have a lot of customizability, but I also want it to be really smooth, with great battery backup.
I was searching for a ROM, and I found 3 that appeal to me:
xXx NoLimits
OmniROM
Resurrection Remix
Which ROM out of these is the best (I know that's subjective, but I would like to know your opinions). And I heard that Resurrection Remix doesn't have a great battery backup. Is this true?
I'd also like to know if you use any other ROM, which you recommend?
Thanks in advance!
RobertD.
Firstly Every rom has its own drawbacks .
secondly if you like stock experience and with a load of customization then go for ressurection otherwise aosp extended liquified but if you like to have OOS like experience the xxx will work for you.

Resurrection is pure stock with Customisation and the ROM lacks features like Gaming mode and some other OOS features and the most importantly face unlock .No limit is based on OOS but many users claim sometimes they got bootloops after flashing and you will suffer with the quality of photo OOS camera Clicks .
I will suggest No limit in comparison with Camera M mod and Portrait mode enabled G cam mod .
@RobertD. Please use existing threads for discussion https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/help/how-to-auto-loudspeaker-call-t3755436 you won't find answers about your question, only suggestions based on everybodys usage behavior hence its different to yours and your purposes so you need to test it on your own.
Everybody has to find what he's searching for.
@RobertD
There is no right, wrong, best, worst, it's all subjective, instead of getting someone else to do the legwork for you, download a bunch of ROMs and see how it goes.
Personally I use no limits, reason being is it's stability, latest features and thr ability to mod and theme as it should be, performance and stamina is also top notch, I don't think I'm alone in thinking that..
But again, that depends.
Note 3 i'm on SM-n9005
Which rom do you guys recommend for daily driver stable ?
I'm currently using Resurrection remix 5.8.5, but require much better stable rom than RR.
A Question
https://forum.xda-developers.com/search/forum/2494?query=best rom
The most stable ROM is going to be the latest stock ROM.

The OP was looking for the most stable ROM which is why I recommended stock. I stick to stock ROMs these days because they work for my needs.
A custom ROM that is best for one person is not always the best for another person.
I'm curious as to which Note 3 you have. I'm in Canada and we have the sm-n900w8. Thanks.

On Note 3 N9005 as asked ???
Lineage 15.1, it's amazing. I used to be on Stock 5.0, then i moved to 6.0.1 Marshmallow Touchwiz Port then i moved to Lineage 15.1 oreo 8.1. The difference is huge. Battery life increased massively, better performance and also everything looks super nice

I also have Sm-n900w8. You can try it by yourself and you'll see that Havoc os is great in battery life, stability and features. It comes with a lot of features.

I haven't used my note 3 for a while and it's my back up phone. I'm using an iPhone 6s at the moment.
The tittle says it all..except lineage os based
Stupid question. Everyone has a different opinion its like asking whats your favourite colour.
Lineage based are the most stable so if you don't want that a stock rom port is your only option.
Each are different and good in there own ways it depends on what you want, a more stock experience? A more vanilla aosp experience? Alot of customization? "Fast" performance for gaming? What is it you actually want?

That's why I'm asking for opinions.
Looking for a more close to stock with good performance that doesn't kill battery and updated to the lastest version of android possible.

Then if you want the latest android you will have to stick with lineage based coz stock Samsung firmware is android 7.1.1 and will never get updated to a newer version
Moving from MIUI to custom rom . Help me to flash best rom so far .
Pixel experience plus based on Android 9 is best rom at present.
In terms of overall speed, stability, and smoothness I'll go with LineageOS Unofficial by AmyluaX. I came from Pixel Experience, which I loved, but that additional speed and smoothness on LineageOS impressed me. Battery didn't impress me on both ROMs, but then again you can flash a kernel and play around with its settings for improvements.
I need battery + customization.
Even i need help.
Which rom other than miui has face unlock too?
Also i need a good battery back up rom.

Here is the thread for syberia , all instructions are there. Make sure you make a backup of internal storage and of Modem and efs partition too (extremely important). If after installing the rom you see a screen that asks for password , you will need to format data.
Also before putting any security on lock screen , first check if your device is encrypted ( in security menu). Otherwise your password/pattern/PIN will be shown as wrong

I've tried a few custom ROMs, and the best I've found so far for my Redmi Note 7, and the one I'm currently using, is the Pixel Experience Plus Android 9.0 for Lavender dated 2019-09-16.
It's fast, clean, and stable, and offers the full Pixel experience with a few extra features thrown in. The 2019-09-16 build is stable. The 2019-09-12 build is not. Here is the link to the stable build, the one I'm using.

Lineageos with Gapps is the best custom rom for me but it has not face unlock
