I don't know what's happening exactly with oneplus that is have this type of delay with the monthly updates and security patches with the Serie 8, I don't want to install a custom room but it looks like i will be force to do so due to the lack of updates from oneplus, hope that oneplus do something for the community who like Oxygen OS.
IDK what you're talking about. There was an update 2 weeks ago.
Yes but it was a beta one no a stable one....

Oneplus provides updates for 8T bimonthly, so it's useless to wait for them every month.
Thanks for the kind info buddy

I have been on build 11.0.11.13.KB09CB for the last 3-4 weeks I keep looking on OnePlus Updates but it seems the updates they show me are older. Am I missing something?? Am I on the latest update?
I also received my unlock token today, all the different threads to root are confusing, twrp, broken twrp. boot only, flash it, magisk, only use your own boot img, do use don't use magisk canary, flash EU, don't flash EU flash Global etc.....can you point me in the right direction on that? Thanks in advance

Just wondering.
Google is patching it in a few weeks for their Nov patching. I hope Oneplus takes it seriously and we see it soon after. Id say sometime in December
That's included in the monthly security patches. It all depends when Google release the patch and when OnePlus releases an OTA with said patch.
Custom ROMs should getting fairly fast though.
According to androidcentral.com, this issue is fixed in the November, 6th 2017 security patch (n the 4.5.13 OOS upadate, the security patch is September.). The best thing to do is to wait for this patch to be deployed by oneplus and use only mobile data in the meantime
As far as I understood it's a problem within wpa_supplicant. Isn't there a chance to fix this with, e. g. a MAGISK Module?
Omnirom 7.1.2 released a update today, its fixed already

Still no news on the KRACK Fix ... oneplus must be working on the 5T ... sad that the flagship from May gets so little support ...
It's on the latest update, kinda stupid that it's not Rolling out to everyone at the same time
Yes, it's fixed
You can get OOS 4.5.14 right now if you use xXx's no limits OOS based ROM
But if you want to stay on stock waiting is the best thing to do

If you are running stock unmodified OOS with stock recovery, just download turbo vpn on playstore and set your location to Germany. Then check for the update, you will get it right away. No need to wait!
I think people are saying the 4.5.14 update has the fix (don't quote me on this though)
Now that the latest build fixes this Krack issue, Moderators can close this thread.

Seriously?
Mo Versi tweated a little more than a week ago that it was set to "go to labs." That could mean anything.
Questions like this don't get much traction on XDA. Best to avoid questions starting with "when....".
Well I was curious also so I'm glad he did ask the question. Not everyone uses Twitter so thanks for the answer. Seriously.
Nice laid back group here.
HTC promised first quarter. Just like they did with nougat. Last year the nougat update hit March 30th. The very last day of the first quarter. I really expect Verizon to drop Oreo on the 10 in the next couple days. March 30th is close. We shall see.
I did a full conversion of my verizon phone over to us_unlocked and flashed oreo. I was rather unhappy with oreo on the device. Its complicated to get back to nougat if you want to OTA properly. i wrote a guide and have all the tools together if you think it will be of use.
possible with nougat verizon m10?

Can I get this done on a nougat m10 from verizon? I need enable tethering/hotspot so bad!
When Oreo finally comes out for the Verizon HTC 10, it won't support Treble, so it will basically be a kludged Oreo anyway, because: (1) HTC will end-of-life the device; and (2) HTC may less-than-gracefully exit the North American cell phone market once it releases its next flagship, gradually backing out as each device e-o-l's (is that a verb transitive?) So the last real ROM will be the current Nougat ROM.
It'll be up to developers to support the device with security updates, etc. at that point.
As for me, as long as my fingerprint scanner holds out and I don't see a better device, I'll stick to my 10.

LMAO. Thanks for the laugh! See https://source.android.com/devices/architecture/treble.
Treble is a platform for updates where the device has "A" and "B" partitions, such that an update can be done to the "A" partition while the "B" partition is booted. It's an easier upgrade path....and it won't be coming to the 10.

Learn something everyday. And does this also mean there will only be one Oreo release.? Like the initial build Verizon releases. Then no security updates or anything?

If I am a betting man, that's correct. The 10 came out May of 2016. I would be surprised to see more than one update to the Verizon 10. I have been surprised before, but I'm not looking ahead.

Apparently, they plan to release the global beta (idk which countries tho, I hope it will be like last time) on June 19th, gonna take a good while. Still happy that the device is going to get official support, as the hw is not so mainstream

This has been installed already without needing to do rebranding.
Installed with hwota.
.has bugs and not quite ready for general use.
It has no Google app store. Gapps cannot be installed. Adb install is not working.
It is a true work in progress.
My.opinion for right now,. If you need to ask how to install it, then you will have issues to use it as well.

Hey guys, I am new on OnePlus . Have the Oneplus 8 Pro with official firmware. I see that OnePlus have beta firmware available. So my question is what to do. Is the beta safe and do you guys prefer beta above official? For example , this beta build is from December 29th.. yesterday ...
And can I go back to official after installing the beta?
I know it sounds a bit nooby, but this is my first OnePlus. Was on Xiaomi and Samsung before..
Please advise...

It's completely safe and you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a stable release.
Just be careful when updating or reverting back to stable. One of the previous releases forced a wipe.
Very unlikely to happen again but that would be my only gripe

You'll get updates as new betas are released, personally I stick with stable, I prefer it.
Betas get new features which may or may not come to stable.
Any help or link would be much appreciated. I'm unable to find a guide specific to the device despite some ecosiaing. Sorry for the bother.

Hello, I'm sorry if this is a "noobs question", but I cannot find any solution to this by myself. YouTube gave me no hits and (maybe I'm not well-versed enough in using XDA) but so far I haven't found anything here either. Running Derpfest 12 (build SQ1D.22205.004) and OrangeFox Recovery.
I've been wanting to know the answer to this for the last four years, although I don't think there is one. Am I wrong? Thanks in advance

You don't, weirdly enough, OnePlus removed the bootloader unlocked warning on devices that run OOS 12 and newer, not sure how they did it tho.

Doesn't look like OnePlus 6T has OOS 12 as of yet. I flashed OOS 11.1.2.2 from https://www.oneplus.com/global/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=PM1574156215016 prior to flashing https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...6t-with-updater-by-optimus-08-09-2022.4408737. Before that, I was on OOS 9.0.14 for like three years since I was too lazy to flash something newer, and I've yet to find a way to get rid of this very annoying warning and the few seconds boot delay associated with it

Oh, I know the 6T doesn't have OOS 12, and it never will get OOS 12, which is why I said "You don't" at the beginning of my previous comment, you can't remove the bootloader unlocked warning on OnePlus 6 series and older, you're SOL.
7 Series and newer can get the bootloader unlocked warning removed as they will be updated to OOS 12.

Yea sorry dude.
I assume OOS 12 and newer doesn't have a bootloader unlocked warning screen because OOS 12 is just ColorOS 12 with a different skin, Oppo phones run ColorOS, you cannot unlock the bootloader on Oppo devices, meaning, since you can't unlock the bootloader on Oppo phones, ColorOS doesn't include a Bootloader unlocked warning screen, and OnePlus just copied that over to OOS 12 and 13.
Maybe OnePlus adds it back with OOS 14, or maybe OnePlus is going to stop letting people unlock the bootloaders on newer devices? Who knows.
