Hi,
I have a galaxy s7 edge SM-G935F model device. it was already rooted. but now I want to flash stock ROM into it. but when I visit sammobile.com to download the original firmware there's no option for my country. I'm from Sri Lanka. but when I choose the SM-G935FD model there's Sri Lanka. so I want to know if I flash any country firmware to my device (SM-G935F) is there any problem? I mean heating, signal, lagging problems? please help me with this.
Thank you
Flashing firmwares from other countries has not been a problem for me.
Also I dont think flashing fd should be a problem either. FD is the dual sim version which is essentially the same. You can flash FD 1st and if you notice any problems try flashing another country. Always flash the latest FW though. Might cause problem if your flash old firmware over newer.
If you want to keep root try S7Edge Stock rooted

Hi,
thank you for the valuable answer, my friend. yesterday I have flashed ITV firmware to my SM-G935F model. when the process is ongoing Odin is stuck 2 times (set partition). but when I change the Odin version it gets completed. when I check both firmware file sizes FD one shows 4000MB+ and F model ITV firmware shows around 2300MB+ sizes. are there any differences between those two? I already flashed ITV open firmware. what did you recommend for me to do? FD one or F(ITV)?
Is the one you flashed booting? If yes then go ahead and test it

I am in Thailand and have NH1 firmware.
Would I get any benefit from flashing a newer firmware?
For example India has NH6 firmware.
Can I flash another country's firmware on my phone?
And, does it give any benefits?
When looking at custom ROMS many of them say they need a certain firmware before being installed.
(though they also are very buggy at the moments so I doubt I want to flash them anyway .. LOL)
Thank You
There are not any major changes in newer versions they fix some bugs thats it however you can't just flash some different countries firmware it may cause bootloop and sometimes even soft bricks ...
Edit :- there are some methods where you can flash them safely for eg changing your CSC however I don't recommend it do it on your own risk ....Here's a link to change csc

Well, I am no expert but I have flashed Indian firmware to my grand 2 whic was actually bought from Saudi Arabia. It still works fine. Similarlly, on my previous phone which I bought from Pakistan, I flashed KSA firmware that worked fine too. So, I guess only options for available languages change and nothing else gets affected adversly. Experts, kindly, express your opinion for further clarification.
Hello , i am trying to update my device to 6.0 but everytime i click update now i can see a new loading tab "Registering device" followed by "Processing failed." and sometimes "Registration Failed. " It is brand new , not rooted with the stock rom . The internet connection is good , i tried to wipe out the cache and i even did a factory reset . What should i do ? thank you
Just download the correct firmware from sammobile and use odin to flash it. You should be able to get around that issue by using this method.

No not at all, knox will stay 0x0 and your warranty will be retained. I can confirm this becuase i flashed the poland marshmallow firmware on my g928f and used it for like a month and then flashed the uk marshmallow firmware and knox is still not tripped. Afaik flashing the correct stock samsung firmware using odin will not trip knox and you should be all good.
i downloaded the build for my country . however the build number differs and there is no 6.0.1 firmware with my build number : XXU2AOL2 . can i flash it like that?

If your phone is unlocked and is indeed a g928f you can use an unlocked firmware including Poland(XEO) and UK(BTU)/(XEU) firmwares.
You can flash this marshmallow firmware if your phone is unlocked/ sim free. http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/67513/G928FXXU2BPB6_G928FXEU2BPB6_XEU/
Make sure you wipe your phone before and after the odin flash.
DO NOT FLASH THIS FIRMWARE IF YOUR PHONE IS NOT UNLOCKED.
if your phone is locked to a carrier then you need to flash the carrier specific firmware for your country and depending on marshmallow availability you may have to wait for your carrier to release it.
Hi guys,
Just got a S7 Edge G935K from Korea (Exynos) and I was wondering if I could flash a ROM corresponding to my region (G9350 - Hong Kong), however the model sold here is the Snapdragon one. Are the ROMs chip-specific?
Also the current version on my G935K is G935KKTC1APDA while the latest G9350 ROM I want is G9350ZZH1APB9, would it still be possible to "downgrade"? Or is it safe to at least try without hard/soft bricking?
The only reasons I want to do that is to maybe have wifi-calling enabled (I had it working on my previous phone and the S7E is supposed to have it), get rid of the korean operator boot logo, and change the recovery mode language... well, maybe not worth it, but we are on xda after all.

No. Your device is only for Korea (KT Corporation). Anyway you wanna flash one firmware of other phone model that isn't supported for your device. You will brick your device for sure.
Ok. I wasn't sure if the model names were different region naming only or different hardware too (except the chip). Well everything is working fine except the wifi-calling which i dont really need, so i won't try anything stupid.
Thanks !

So you did flash 3 files out of the package excluding the bootloader ?
What would have happened if you included BL in the sync?

It would fail. I did try this hoping it may work.
Didn't brick or do anything negative, just had to reboot the bootloader and flash without bootloader.
I've installed a stock based custom rom for g935f on my g935k through TWRP, everything went very well...
(separately updated BL and CP with correct files with ODIN though)
Still not sure how it will work with ODIN and a complete 100% stock rom.

I flashed a stock based custom ROM through TWRP for my G935L. I can boot normally.
But I could not flash BL and CP via ODIN. Could you please explain a little bit more on how did you update BL and CP with correct files with ODIN? (Or is it necessary to flash BL and CP even though the stock based custom ROM seems working fine?)

After flashing a G935F rom in TWRP, I've used the BL and CP (Odin) from the FW update specific to my S7E variant, G935K for me, should be G935L in your case.
(updating BL and CP seems to not be a must, but it was recommended in the thread of the custom rom I'm using)

King Rom v7. I'm considering flashing the v8 or a different rom but I don't have any real issues and battery is still acceptable to me as I charge my phone at night. And I'm lazy to set it up again.
Just in case, and to be clear, for the BL and AP I have flashed the ones from the latest stock rom available for my S7E (K variant) from sammobile, not from the custom rom (Wich is based on F variant)

Thanks a lot for the clarification. Can you give me the link to where i can get the BL and AP for the stock rom of the K variant?
Got it from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G935K/
You will get the full FW, in Odin select BL and CP only. You can flash them after installing the custom rom (custom rom installed using TWRP)
Edit: BL and CP, not BL and AP

So does that mean we can use some of the customs rom's in the thread for the 935F/FD on the G935K model, I have a K model from SK/olleh and have found zero answers to if its possible or not to do.
Yes!
Did it on my G935K multiple times and also flashed a G935S (also Korean variant) for a colleague couple of days ago. So far I have tried different version of Superman Rom, King Rom and Basic Rom. All 3 are OK.

So just flashing the rom from TWRP with full wipes will get it to boot, I dont need any special Odin files to flash after I have installed via TWRP. First time on a Samsung since the s2

Dear all,
Yesterday, I purchased my first ever android phone (coming from iphone 6s) and this phone is such a beauty. Is this the right file to use for updating my phone? I guess I am using Flashfire for updating without losing root? I want to keep the CSC and any other relevant config the same because I will be using this phone in the middle east.
I would appreciate you guys input on whether I should go ahead and also a good tutorial for updating without losing root.
Thank you!

Hey there! G935F is single sim version while G935FD is dual sim version. Seems you have got a single sim. F versions will work for you.
Regarding root. When you flash a new firmware file then you will lose root but that's okay you can again root it again. Just like u did first time.
I would suggest you to go with Odin to flash a file.
you can find the tutorial here:

Thank you for the quick reply @iamansar, I in fact have the Duo version. Will the file suggested by SamFirm work for my phone? (not mess up the dual sim, keep CSC as XSG?). Also regarding updating without losing root, I believe you are suggesting to flash FW using odin then redo the TWRP and Su steps?
Thank you!

I apologise, I didn't see that you mentioned that yours is G935FD w/ XSG.
It seems you can flash G935F file to FD phone and the firmware will recognise it as dual sim and you will get those features.
About root, well I must say I haven't tried rooting my S7 Edge yet at least till its covered under warranty. One thing for sure if while flashing stock firmware, you lose root privileges and you will have to root again.
You can use this latest firmware.

Have you tried connecting your phone with smart switch in you PC/Laptop with Windows/Mac? As you don't plan on flashing some other country firmware, I would suggest you can go ahead update you phone from there. This what I did today, Mine is XSG as well.

Yes! you will. So, Instead of using Odin , It'll be better to flash the firmware using FlashFire as suggested in this tutorial, if you don't want to lose TWRP.

So yesterday I updated from Nougat (not rooted) to Oreo. After I updated I had some issues with my SIM. Basically most of the time I get "Out of service/Not registered in the Network". The SIM is working fine in other Phones. Already tried a reformat (with Stock Recovery) did not help.
So can I just use Odin v3.12 and the S8 Nougat files and flash them?
Will it brick If I do it?
The Oreo Firmware (and my phone) has no carrier. (DBT, Germany)
Same goes for the Nougat Firmware.
Thanks
