Holux M1000 + 8525 = WTF?

I have a slight problem. When I did the setup up as the instructions said the 8525 shows a yellow question mark next to the Holux M1000.So how do I fix this?

Have you ever thought to, oh, I don't know, ask the company that made the GPS receiver?
Honestly, it seems more and more that people seem to think that these forums are either their own personal tech support place for any issue they may find, or think that almost everyone who reads these forums knows the answer to any question regarding the phones and the OS, phones that no one here made and an OS that no one here coded.
Also, it's a weekend. How many people do you think are going to be on a forum on their day off (I work one weekend day, which is why I'm posting this now. Otherwise, it wouldn't be until much later in the day/late evening, if at all)? You posted, then five hours later checked and got pissed because no one answered your question? A question that was very light on details. You followed directions... what directions? Directions from a manual for the Holux, directions from some random web page you found, directions from space aliens?
Something else to keep in mind, the only reason I even know that is a GPS is because I read a thread on GPS receivers not long ago and that name was mentioned as a company that makes bluetooth GPS receivers. Many people would see Holux M1000 and have NO idea what that is.
What have you done to try and fix it? What other things have you looked at? What steps did you do to get to this point? Heck, what version of WM5 are you running (stock, custom, what version and build)?
Check your self before getting pissy mate, you are not in any position to be demanding or expecting help. You left way too many blank spots in your request, and are expecting way to much from people who don't owe you a single thing IMO.

Hello people. I have just released the Hydros Sync Center 4.5. In this version, it is completly redesigned in the code due to a major bug which was causing other problems with the program. Did this program sync also contact, task... with outlook or just media files?

I think the 4.7 build is corrupted it is only a file and it is only 50 Mb.
in the file is a broken .msi (only half the file).
Edit: can you upload it on another place ( rapidshare,Hotfile).

It looks like a Iolite, but isn´t a Iolite. Other processor (the same like in HPs) lower RAM/ROM. Definitively- no way with Iolite-ROMs.

Please, do not ask about ROM compatibility of Iolite clones. There is NO WAY of using original or cooked ROMs for Iolite on this clones. You must understand that clones are totally different devices with different hardware.
However, you probably can cook your own ROM, but there is no sureness that tools for cooking (dumpers, rebuilders, kitchens, atc.) will work with clone ROMs because they are designed for HTC ROMs.

I just wanted to know about the clone in general. Hew well does it work, etc.

OK, so I got the phone and I think I made a mistake, but I will try to make do. The CD that came with the phone has a bunch of stuff on it, but I can't access anything as the computer says it's not a valid file.
I am a total noob when it comes to phones, but I do work with computers, so I can learn.
The SD card that came with the phone has the same files on it, but I do not know how to access any of it on the phone.
Is there a tutorial on how to install software to a Windows 6.1 phone? I have looked around the net and these forums, but didn't find anything helpful.
Also, I thought thew phone came with Footprints as the picture of the phone had it, but I can't find it. Can I get it anywhere?

I'm ready to wager that the CD is in simplified Chinese. Those are certainly useful programs for your phone, but to read them you need to read the disc either in a simplified Chinese compatible computer (then copy them to a hard disk, rename the files into English, and they should be readable by your non Chinese computer), or get a Chinese language reader or MS's Applocale (can't remember the spelling) to read the files. To understand what the programs are, you might want to get someone to translate the Chinese for you (or copy and paste the file names to google). Good luck!

Before anyone starts the flaming because they live on XDA and remember a thread or two that may have mentioned this, I did search the entire A500 forum with a variety of different parameters to no avail.
Is there a changelog of some sort (preferably direct from Acer) that tells us what is in each OTA update? I see that some of the ROM chefs are updating their ROMs with the new v3.2.1 release, and even though I've read pretty much all those ROM threads, all I see are people stating things like, "The stock browser seems smoother" or "Battery life seems to have improved", but there doesn't seem to be anything concrete.
I'm the type who wants to know if an update will actually be useful for me, because if it doesn't really affect me then I don't want to go to all the typical trouble of updating the base of the ROM I'm currently using, etc.
I think I'm asking for too much, because we can't even get Acer to tell us when they're going to release updates -- they definitely don't seem interested in telling us what's in them.

The only way I've found is to decrypt each update, and have a look to see what they've updated.
If you look around, some people have posted their updates on Mega, and multiupload. If you wait for Acer to give you an update log, you may be waiting until h3ll freezes over lol

You know, that's a million dollar question
I can tell you what they "do" give you... a 35% chance you'll brick your tab.
They claim minor security features and a UI update. But not a lot of other info running around, except bricked tabs

I do what kjy2010 does. I look at the files they are changing, I Google, and read up what others are saying. So, your post I think is a good question, so how does anyone really know?

Alright, I decided to go straight to the source and get right to the bottom of this question once and for all. (yeah, right)
So I go to the Acer Support site, input all of my information, specifically including my full physical home address, as well as the serial # for my A500, asked the question, and this is the fountain of information that I received back:

Christopher, in order to assist you better and to ensure you receive full support for the product that you own, we would like to have the serial number of tablet. We recommend you verify the correct serial number which is a 22 or 13 alphanumeric character or 11 digit SNID number.
There is no physical label with the serial number on the Iconia Tab A500 or A501, but there is a label with the tablet's SNID number on the underside of the MicroSD/SIM card cover. Also, both the serial number and the SNID number can be found in the tablet's menus. To locate both the serial and SNID numbers, simply follow the steps below:
- From the Home Screen, tap on Apps, and then Settings.
- Tap on About Tablet, and then Device Information.

Really? You really can't point me to a changelog for your OS updates, but you expect me to just blindly download and install them? Really? Oh, I *AM* sending them my serial # again, as well as my location information again, because I can't wait to see what their answer will be after they're done jerking me around in a circle.

nah, if it had an apple logo it wouldn't have any of its glorious ports, and you wouldn't be able to ROM
Have you considered broadening your search a little? 3.2 to 3.2.1 isn't just Acer software updates, its full os changes. I'd recommend looking at ASOP ROMs for different tabs, or maybe in the Xoom forum (its basically a nexus), or something, like that, seeing what those changelogs are.
You may turn up nothing, idk. But I'm sure theres an official os change log somewhere. The a500 runs afaik unmodified honeycomb.

Bumping this thread. Wondering how I can backup the apps and ROM.
I also want to check dmesg or interrogate hardware in some way to see what radio IC it uses. The manufacturer claims in supports RDS, but the built in radio app not showing any RDS info. Unsure if its just the app, or the hardware. I'm assuming I would have to root the unit to get this info .. if any rooting tools available, would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the guidance Anton, but unfortunately such a search returns nothing (except for this thread we are in now..). Sounds like I must have purchased an obscure unit with chips that hardly anyone else has..! If any further guidance to point me in the right direction, would be appreciated.

It's an Odd ball. I've never brought a car without knowing what it was.

It's easy to say that you wouldn't have bought (not brought) a car without knowing what it was, but we don't know what we don't know (also it's just a head unit I bought, not a whole car (?)). You would be way more experienced on what to look for and what should be asked. I thought the specs like ARM etc would be enough, didn't realise that deeper research would have been needed. I can still return it if I'd like to, TBH it isn't a big deal the head unit seems to work well - Google Play, Android Auto Wireless .. working wonderfully. It just would have been nice to root it to enable more flexibility. I assume I can't do things like backup apps without rooting.

I didn't mean to search mainly here, expand your search on net there is a Russian forum with updates and firmwares 4PDA, bunch of video files on youtube for specific devices and with links to firmwares etc.

I have an A007 (KingPad_SA10_EEA) manufacturer SPRD, brand VastKing. My display is 1280x480. It was made for a BMW E46 but I am going to use it in a Plymouth Prowler because of the size. Anyway, I found that it has a UNISOC UMS512 CPU. Not sure but it maybe a T610. I did have a problem with Zlink v5.2.3 when using Android Auto. It would stop the music when the nav was speaking and never restart. The vendor sent me an update zip file. THIS IS AN MCU UPDATE!!! This updated Zlink to V5.3.72 and now it works. https://wetransfer.com/downloads/d9...825a62dba56f89108144fdff20221009064018/eedc8a This is only good until Oct 16, 2022. Just had to copy the .zip to a thumb drive (Fat32) and insert it anytime and watch for the message quickly appear to Install. I did get it from Alibaba Navifans Franchised Store.

I got this unit, too. Guess there will be some more information around soon since these are new and very fast units on the market. Mine has 8/128 GB of RAM. Don't like the resolution of the 32 band Equalizer and Radio but everything works pretty fast, so its ok for me. If there are more informations around also how to upgrade to a better Equalizer and Radio App, please share your information

Guys, can you show me the factory settings as I have a major problem finding an option to switch off the standby mode? I can drop some screens from my radio if needed.

I have the same equipment as you, a Wondefoo 8/128G. In my case everything works fine except that the reversing camera shows the inverted image (the sky and clouds are seen at the bottom of the screen).
If you want to send us the screenshots of all the factory setting screens, there are about 25 images. Or we share the settings configuration file "ZQ_FACTORY_SET". The latter is more dangerous because we can have a nice brick.
Have you touched anything in the settings?

No i dont , i just runs through the all options and didnt find anything that has something to do with standby mode at all. I might be blind and just missed it but i think its just my low skills with new type of the HU with android 11. I go and do screens of my FS.
