Yes, I bought an HTC clone. I am on a tight budget and wanted a phone with a touchscreen but can not afford $450 for a phone, so I spent $180 and bought a clone.
Does anyone have any experience with a clone like this?

I know I am taking a chance so I hope te phone will be good. I have read a bunch of reviews on the Chinese clones and they were pretty positive.
The phone has Windows Mobile 6.1
A Marvell PXA310 +NXP5209 processor
256MB ROM / 128MB RAM
Built-in GPS navigation, with the SIRT star navigation chip
802.11b/g Wi-Fi
3.2 mega pixel camera
Yada, Yada, Yada
I am also new to this type of phone as my last one was a Motorola V3X flip phone.
Thanks for any info,
Ian
It looks like a Iolite, but isn´t a Iolite. Other processor (the same like in HPs) lower RAM/ROM. Definitively- no way with Iolite-ROMs.
Greetings!
I have bought the same device but its running some earlier version of WM 6.5. Does anybody know a new ROM that would be compatible with it?

Please, do not ask about ROM compatibility of Iolite clones. There is NO WAY of using original or cooked ROMs for Iolite on this clones. You must understand that clones are totally different devices with different hardware.
However, you probably can cook your own ROM, but there is no sureness that tools for cooking (dumpers, rebuilders, kitchens, atc.) will work with clone ROMs because they are designed for HTC ROMs.
Thanks, I will not ask again

I didn't, some threadjacker did.
I just wanted to know about the clone in general. Hew well does it work, etc.
OK, so I got the phone and I think I made a mistake, but I will try to make do. The CD that came with the phone has a bunch of stuff on it, but I can't access anything as the computer says it's not a valid file.
I am a total noob when it comes to phones, but I do work with computers, so I can learn.
The SD card that came with the phone has the same files on it, but I do not know how to access any of it on the phone.
Is there a tutorial on how to install software to a Windows 6.1 phone? I have looked around the net and these forums, but didn't find anything helpful.
Also, I thought thew phone came with Footprints as the picture of the phone had it, but I can't find it. Can I get it anywhere?
This is what the files from the CD look like.

I'm ready to wager that the CD is in simplified Chinese. Those are certainly useful programs for your phone, but to read them you need to read the disc either in a simplified Chinese compatible computer (then copy them to a hard disk, rename the files into English, and they should be readable by your non Chinese computer), or get a Chinese language reader or MS's Applocale (can't remember the spelling) to read the files. To understand what the programs are, you might want to get someone to translate the Chinese for you (or copy and paste the file names to google). Good luck!

If this is the case, wouldn't the programs also be in Chinese?

Have you ever thought to, oh, I don't know, ask the company that made the GPS receiver?
Honestly, it seems more and more that people seem to think that these forums are either their own personal tech support place for any issue they may find, or think that almost everyone who reads these forums knows the answer to any question regarding the phones and the OS, phones that no one here made and an OS that no one here coded.
Also, it's a weekend. How many people do you think are going to be on a forum on their day off (I work one weekend day, which is why I'm posting this now. Otherwise, it wouldn't be until much later in the day/late evening, if at all)? You posted, then five hours later checked and got pissed because no one answered your question? A question that was very light on details. You followed directions... what directions? Directions from a manual for the Holux, directions from some random web page you found, directions from space aliens?
Something else to keep in mind, the only reason I even know that is a GPS is because I read a thread on GPS receivers not long ago and that name was mentioned as a company that makes bluetooth GPS receivers. Many people would see Holux M1000 and have NO idea what that is.
What have you done to try and fix it? What other things have you looked at? What steps did you do to get to this point? Heck, what version of WM5 are you running (stock, custom, what version and build)?
Check your self before getting pissy mate, you are not in any position to be demanding or expecting help. You left way too many blank spots in your request, and are expecting way to much from people who don't owe you a single thing IMO.

hello,
looks like YouTube is providing its own app for viewing their videos. they instruct us to go to http://m.youtube.com/app and follow instructions to install an app to launch videos. the problem is when i tried to go to that website, it gave me a message that says:
"Sorry, your phone isn't currently on our list of supported models. We are working hard to expand this list so please check again soon".If some body can get to that website and may be get us a cab or tell us whether it works for him/her, i mean any details can help.
I tried it on a AT&T Tilt with the official WM6.0.
Here are a couple of screenshots of the app from their app info website.

Edit: Looks like it is only for the following phones: Some Nokia phones like the 6110n, 6120c, E65, N73, and N95, and some Sony Ericsson phones like the k800i and w880i.
you have many YouTube apps in here.. just search for them. this app is made for Symbian and so forth.. not PPC
This YouTube app works great with Jbed, except one thing, streaming videos which is due to lack of JSR-135 (Mobile Media API).
The Java VM on Samsung BlackJack (II) has support for JSR-135 but I was unable to install it...
I am aware of the YouTube apps, but thought if it is from YouTube themselves, maybe it will faster. also, they mention that you can track your subscriptions, post videos in that app.
anway, like i added to the end of my post, this was only for some Nokias and Sony Ericsons. hopefully they will make one for PPCs.
What? No PPC? Who uses symbian?
all kiddies
This will be quite pointless, and here's why, these videos are the 3GP files which are a much lower quality, your best bet is to go to www.ytpocket.com and have them play through TCPMP.
people who use Nokias - Use symbian
Nokia actually has the largest market share of smartphones in the world. As stated before, the java application doesn't work, at least for me. I've tested it on my Hermes through the latest JBed.
I use symbian for quite some time, i think, it's like 300% better for telephony and it never let me down

HYDROS SYNC CENTER
Hello people. I have just released the Hydros Sync Center 4.5. In this version, it is completly redesigned in the code due to a major bug which was causing other problems with the program. Hopefully to those of you who had the bugs before, you won't have anymore from now on. Although the code has changed dramatically, please keep in mind that this is a free application so I do not plan on making a User Guide (also because it is quite easy to use). Below, I have listed the new hanges in this program from the previous 4.0 build. One of the main features about this is that it now includes the "delete song" feature (which may seem weird to include it at this point but it took nearly 4 hours of coding and tought to make this work the way I wanted it to). If you would like to donate to me for my hard work, please click on the link in my signature and I will gladly accept any amount
* Delete Song
*New Playlist
*New and updated code
*Delete Playlist
*New Installer
*No hassle about where to install
*Rom Updater has been changed (in code)

Asking money for a half-way app is not my kind of thing. Your message seems to me more like an advertisement than a contribution to this forum. Maybe I'm wrong, but your first statement in this thread is asking for money instead of explaining your contribution. Apologies when I'm wrong, but this is not the way I would do it.

I think the 4.7 build is corrupted it is only a file and it is only 50 Mb.
in the file is a broken .msi (only half the file).
Edit: can you upload it on another place ( rapidshare,Hotfile).
thanks a bunch for the tests. I will reupload it again to another site.

Hi all.
I'm new in this world an page.
Nice to read this complete forum.
I had a problem with this 3years old system:
It's a octacore T8.
It works well as a tablet, but the buttons of applications are not responding:
For example, the radio, the cd player, the equalizer, etc.
At least, not the included from origin. Is this a MCU failure??? you can see in the pictures that the system shows "MCU unknown"
I read from multiple pages of this forum that there's a lot of brands, software versions and MCU, but you have to place the right one or you can "brick" the system...
With the system version V9.2.2_20170131.110048_TW2 can I search how can I proceed???
What should be the software ok for my system??? Any place to download with instructions (Dumb mode for me?)
I'm very lost and the manufacturer from Aliexpress is not responding.
Thanks in advance, all the help is welcome.

Hi marchnz.....
In first term, sorry if my English is not very good, I am writing from Spain...
The problem is that with your link, the webpage opens a lot of another links with people with other problems. Most of them they know at least their MCU version. My system shows unknow version. I read another links, for example, of people that, as me, doesn't know if his unit is MCTC/D/E.---- PX3-PX5.. etc, and what would be the right version to load new firmware without turn my radio in to a nice brick.
Is not easy for people as me, that we have only 2-3 days of experience.
In the past, I added ROMs to mobile phones, but always knowing what model is, now with the chinese radios, you don't know what are you buying, systems rebranded, false brands, components inside from other brands.
Yesterday I was testing in a shop , I found that old JVC and Kenwood 2DIN had the exact same menu. Another Belson system has the same system as mine, people in general doesn't know what are thery buying, and the sellers doing their best "sell&forget"
Take for example this post:
Need Help Identifying Head Unit (probably SoFIA, but is it Joying?)
Can someone help me determine which head unit this is? I'm thinking it's one of the Joying SoFIA units (doesn't appear to be MTCB/MTCD), but how can I be sure? Additionally, there's no sign of the Google Play Store or Google Play Services on...
forum.xda-developers.com
In the other hand.... Is it possible, navigating inside the system folders, to find any place with some files that could show what was the factory version of the firmware??
Sorry if I am repeating older posts. Is it better that I add my posts in another, to have the forum more clean?
I don't know if it's better to mix with another systems or not.
Thanks!

Is nothing else than a quadcore Allwinner T8.
That is nothing related to any MCT*.
...but I would say: get rid of it and buy some modern one.
The MCU is : ML0-mtk_C56_whb02d-aAaAaA_6686-8A_20211221-10:04
If anyone can recommend custom firmware or other info, that'd be much appreciated. Many Thanks.

Bumping this thread. Wondering how I can backup the apps and ROM.
I also want to check dmesg or interrogate hardware in some way to see what radio IC it uses. The manufacturer claims in supports RDS, but the built in radio app not showing any RDS info. Unsure if its just the app, or the hardware. I'm assuming I would have to root the unit to get this info .. if any rooting tools available, would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks
Search for firmware in this forum by - mtk (device type) A-media 007 (model) android 11
You'll probably find a match.
Thanks for the guidance Anton, but unfortunately such a search returns nothing (except for this thread we are in now..). Sounds like I must have purchased an obscure unit with chips that hardly anyone else has..! If any further guidance to point me in the right direction, would be appreciated.
It's an Odd ball. I've never brought a car without knowing what it was.
It's easy to say that you wouldn't have bought (not brought) a car without knowing what it was, but we don't know what we don't know (also it's just a head unit I bought, not a whole car (?)). You would be way more experienced on what to look for and what should be asked. I thought the specs like ARM etc would be enough, didn't realise that deeper research would have been needed. I can still return it if I'd like to, TBH it isn't a big deal the head unit seems to work well - Google Play, Android Auto Wireless .. working wonderfully. It just would have been nice to root it to enable more flexibility. I assume I can't do things like backup apps without rooting.
I didn't mean to search mainly here, expand your search on net there is a Russian forum with updates and firmwares 4PDA, bunch of video files on youtube for specific devices and with links to firmwares etc.
Thanks Anton, I did search Google but didn't find much. I'll check YT / 4PDA, as you suggested. Thanks for the guidance again.

Привет! Ищу всевозможную информацию по такой же балалайке. Моя обзывается Vastking Kingpad_SA10_EEA (A007). Проживаю в Москве.
Mod. Translation: Hello! I am looking for all kinds of information on the same balalaika. My name is Vastking Kingpad_SA10_EEA (A007). I live in Moscow.
Hello, I haven't found anything more useful on this model, but I haven't tried too hard to be honest.
Thanks for answer
Hi! Are you currently using this device?
I have an A007 (KingPad_SA10_EEA) manufacturer SPRD, brand VastKing. My display is 1280x480. It was made for a BMW E46 but I am going to use it in a Plymouth Prowler because of the size. Anyway, I found that it has a UNISOC UMS512 CPU. Not sure but it maybe a T610. I did have a problem with Zlink v5.2.3 when using Android Auto. It would stop the music when the nav was speaking and never restart. The vendor sent me an update zip file. THIS IS AN MCU UPDATE!!! This updated Zlink to V5.3.72 and now it works. https://wetransfer.com/downloads/d9...825a62dba56f89108144fdff20221009064018/eedc8a This is only good until Oct 16, 2022. Just had to copy the .zip to a thumb drive (Fat32) and insert it anytime and watch for the message quickly appear to Install. I did get it from Alibaba Navifans Franchised Store.
8.8 inch screen
I got this unit, too. Guess there will be some more information around soon since these are new and very fast units on the market. Mine has 8/128 GB of RAM. Don't like the resolution of the 32 band Equalizer and Radio but everything works pretty fast, so its ok for me. If there are more informations around also how to upgrade to a better Equalizer and Radio App, please share your information
Guys, can you show me the factory settings as I have a major problem finding an option to switch off the standby mode? I can drop some screens from my radio if needed.

Hello Rom80.
I have the same equipment as you, a Wondefoo 8/128G. In my case everything works fine except that the reversing camera shows the inverted image (the sky and clouds are seen at the bottom of the screen).
If you want to send us the screenshots of all the factory setting screens, there are about 25 images. Or we share the settings configuration file "ZQ_FACTORY_SET". The latter is more dangerous because we can have a nice brick.
Have you touched anything in the settings?
