I am getting this phone tomorrow and I need to be able to use drivedroid with cd-rom and usb drive emulation. I have looked at the patch that drivedroid recommends for the kernel
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/46bd47757a9f34c1d95dd2620414893212fb0526
And looked at the source code for axon 7 lineage os kernel
https://github.com/LineageOS/android_kernel_zte_msm8996
And in f_mass_storage.c file it does seem like cd-rom emulation is supported, but I don't know. I have a Nexus 5 with lineage os (with lineage kernel) and I do not get cd-rom emulation support. Has anybody tested it? Thanks
I have never had any issues using DriveDroid on my A2017G running Resurrection Remix. I use it often to mount ISOs such as Memtest86+
So I installed kali Linux all on my external sd card so far using the compulsion kernel phone is running ultimate rom android 4.4.2. After installing kali Linux using Linux deploy and the compulsion kernel I install the Civz kernel rev 1.9 for android 4.4.2 model numbser smn9005. The civz kernel apparently has Atheros usb support in the kernel. When I start kali Linux and and insert my alfa Atheros AR9271 card it's recognizable by lsusb as inserted but ifconfig and iwconfig won't recognise it. Do I need a new Wifi adaptor and if so which one a link to the amazon UK site would be good or can I use monitor mode with my current card. I'm running the note 3 smn9005 ultimate rom 4.4.2 civz kernel, Linux deploy with kali-linux-all installed on an ext2 partition on my external sd card help with this would be much appreciated and could help others also. Thank You!!!
Edit: is there any chance im using the wrong wifi adaptor as the amazon listing says its using the atheros ar9271L chipset. If I order a tp link wl722n version 1 from abroad would that work?
Ive bought 3 new kali linux compatible wifi cards a couple of different chipset alfas and a tp link wn722n version 1. Will update here with what happens. Any help would be appreciated.
Monitor mode solved

SO i bought several kali linux recommended cards none worked accept the awus036h wireless card which uses the rtl 8187l chipset i believe made by alfa network. However it wasnt working with kali linux on linux deploy rather kali linux using the complete linux installer method. I repeat several cards except the awus036h made by alfa network were not working. Any questions feel free to ask.
First time posting, but I've read through dozens of threads and have used the site extensively. I cannot seem to find an answer to the issue I'm having. I had an old Galaxy Note 4 lying around and wanted to see if I could install NetHunter. After tons of trial and error, I was successful in flashing LineageOS 15.1, addonsu -15.1 arm, nethunter-generic-armhf-kalifs-full-rolling-2017.10-20171013-0449, and kernel-nethunter-generic-armhf-3.15.4-20170211-0304 (too new to post link of the NH builds). I have full chroot, updated busybox (v1.25-0-NetHunter) and SuperuserSU to manage root privileges. I had to install all of the tools (e.g., cspolit, DriveDroid, OpenVPN, etc.) individually, but they seem to be in working order.
My issue: I bought an external wifi adapter (Alfa AWUS036NEH) with a chipset (Ralink Technology Wifi Adapter RT2780) that supports monitor mode. The Wifi card appears to work flawlessly on my macbook with Kali distro, but I can't seem to find a way for the NH kernel on the Note 4 to recognize the adapter. In the kernel I flashed, I can see the rt2870.bin firmware required in the /system/etc/firmware folder, but for some reason Nethunter does not recognize the adapter. On most Nexus/NH builds, the wifi adapter is found to be compatible and is usually plug and play.
When I run:
-Kali terminal
-ifconfig
There is no wlan1. Only wlan0.
Same thing if I run iwconfig.
When I run:
-kali terminal
-airmon-ng
I receive a prompt that states:
Found phy0 with no interface assigned, would you like to assign one to it [y/n]?
-y
ERROR adding monitor mode interface: command failed: Operation not supported (-95)
No surprise, the above is indicating the embedded chipset does not support a monitor mode interface, but it doesn't even list the external adapter.
when I run: lsusb
Output shows the Ralink wifi adapter on bus 3:2.
I understand NetHunter was not built for LineageOS 15.1, but there has to be some way to maybe push the firmware or modify the firmware (I have the original firmware from the manufacture) to be compatible with my current build? Do I need to compile my own Kernel for this to work properly? Why doesn't the generic NH kernel, with the rt2870.bin file work?
Thanks ahead of time.
Have you tried using Magisk and flashing the Kali Nethunter module with that? It also includes multiple wireless firmware and I believe the correct one for your Alfa dongle. I too just bought that exact WIFI dongle and I'm still in the process of setting up Kali on my Note 4.
I had a similar issue as you on my OnePlus 5T even with the Magisk module for Nethunter. I'm going to try and find a different kernel because I think that's my issue on that phone.
My Note 4 is N910P but I'll let you know if I find something that works and maybe it'll help you find a way on your variant.
I've Rooted my Device Successfully and the bootloader is unlocked.
and and trying to install NetHunter All Day I managed to install it but im facing some issues tools are not working terminal is not working as well. when running proc/version:
Linux version 3.1.10-gf5d7b8b ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.7 (GCC) ) #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Jan 8 04:50:16 UTC 2015
when typing bootkali i get this :
mount: mounting /sdcard/kali-chroot.img on /data/local/nhssystem/kali-armhf failed: No such file or directory
FATAL : kernel is too old
I can't access the kali terminal neither the VNC
I've read somewhere that i have to install a more updated kernel to fix that, but how can i come about doing that without bricking the tablet. I used Nexus Root Toolkit to root and flash the tablet it's an amazing tool but i had an issue with busy box not installing to system/xbin because of no enough space i had to install it in /data for a fix that someone suggested. i bought busybox pro but didn't know how to switch to it and also didn't want to uninstall the binaries in busy box free to avoid any damage.
Hey guys here a howto Install Kali Linux Nethunter on S4 Mini Or Any Device
if works to when anybody have not much space on phone

* do some research if you have any concerns about anything
* before flashing it
perhaps that helps some people
0. install busybox 1.25 (few are not working , then you must take another app from playstore)
1. Build Kernel
2. Flash arm64 or armhf / or your release zip https://www.kali.org/get-kali/#kali-mobile
3 install apk nethunter: https://github.com/atarii/Magisk_Kali_Nethunter/tree/master/files
4. install all needed files like terminal etc
5. kalifs-armhf-nano.tar.xz use from inside the nethunter-2022.2b-generic-armhf-kalifs-nano.zip or youre release .zip
6. put kalifs-armhf-nano.tar.xz to /sdcard/ & /extern/sdcard and rename to kalifs-backup.tar.xz
7. open nethunter - chroot install , choose the right location for folder , and click on minimal and choose sdcard is root
8. install needs ca 5 minutes
9. chroot installed
10. apt-get update && upgrade via terminal , and install all needed tools or choose a bigger install , because wifite will only work with few more installed tools , the commands are not working without update & upgrade
11. Flash builded kali nethunter kernel
11 1/2 finished installed the extern wifi cards under this line should work without any need of [MODULE] Wireless Firmware for Nethunter , i can test it at 8 aug then arrive my wifit adapter RTL8192EU
but currently i cant building a kernel and try to install manually the wifi driver , but currently without success
Attention: The Extern Wifi Adapter must before you start the phone are plugged in
