Hi, I have a stock 6T (T-mobile variant) that is SIM unlocked (bootloader is not) running on 10.3.10 build. My previous 6T (which died after drop/crack) was converted to international firmware and running Android 9 (with unlocked bootloader, root, etc). I was planning on doing the same thing to this one, until I read multiple reports of T-mobile bootloaders not being certifiable for GPay, etc. I really need the root, don't really care much about bootloader or having a working recovery to flash custom ROMs (prefer stock experience from 9). Then there are rumors of beta Android 11 coming, so I am wandering what would be my best option to use. Is there a way to just root the stock T-mobile or need to unlock bootloader, convert to international, etc. Root is wanted for ad-block. audio tweaks, CarStream (youtube for Android Auto) and possibly few other things that I might already forgot. I do value stability and battery life with some tweaks allowed by OxygenOS although familiar with Pixel launcher and like Google Feed option. I am sure this was already discussed in various threads but any pointers would be highly appreciated.

I haven't been following the Android scene lately, and have been thinking about upgrading to Nougat. I'm running an unlocked bootloaded, TWRP, and a "debloatded + root" ROM based off stock (can't remember which one). When I say "best ROM", to me that's the least problematic ROM. I'd like to have a ROM where the power management doesn't go crazy and force me to reboot in order to not have it auto-kill NPR One every day. I'm aware of the CyanogenMod / LineageOS shakeup, but I'm not clear on if there's a build for the Axon 7, and the state of things. It seems like about enough time has passed to where there would be a few Nougat ROMs out there where all the basic functionality is working (GPS, BlueTooth, etc), but I'm not sure what the good options are.
People running Nougat, do you have any suggestions for ROMs you're using / loving? In the past I've been quite happy with CM-based ROMs, but I'm not adverse to stock or stock-based setups provided they are less buggy than the stock Marshmallow ROM. I prefer to have a rooted device so I can use an adblocking solution if possible.

Well, if you have an A2017U or G, it's best to stick with Marshmallow. B15 (Nougat for the A2017U) is buggy and slow. A2017G doesn't have an official Nougat version for now, so in order to have Nougat you have to flash B15.
If you have chinese model, there's 7.1.1 which works better but some users are experiencing problems with the Google Play Store.
I don't recommend AOSP roms at all, they have many issues like:
Camera (currently it crashes when recording videos and the quality is subpar)
Bluetooth (many incompatibilities with some devices)
Sound (no dolby atmos and only one channel is working so speakers are mono)
Fingerprint sensor is very buggy on some devices
Animations are not as smooth
Sometimes the device will unlock to a black screen or an unresponsive desktop
Can't remember more, but there's more
There's only a few... Check them out.

Stick with MM, it's great. It's fluid, the camera is good enough, the sound is great and the battery life is very good.
7.1.1 is on the way for us A2017U users.

Hey guys
I decided to by the p10+ via amazon so i ended up with the VKY-AL00 version. I see that most of the guides here refer to the VKY-L29 variant of phones. Will trying them out brick my device?
Is there a way to make myself a stock version of (bare with me, the last phone i successfully rooted/flashed was my Galaxy S3 with cyanogen mod. and this was like 1 year ago, im super rusty with terms) the kernel, bootloader, recovery and ROM?
EMUI is attrocious to me, I would liked to install cyanogenmod (or LineageOS now?) but i doubt they have it up yet. Regardless, i would like to keep the camera software that comes with the p10+ since it has a crap ton of options for the camera. Is there a way to keep this app If i flash a new ROM to the device? If not, is there an app out there that can do what this one does? (maybe even better?)
Thanks!
I'm pretty new to Android. Just bought a seller refurbished Xiaomi Redmi 2 (HM 2LTE-CMCC) 2GB 16GB 2014CP6123 from ebay. Has MUI 7.0 4.4.4 ktu84p. Should I factory reset (to get rid of any Chinese viruses/spyware etc.) and then flash EU Rom or global? I don't want to root it as I want to use banking apps etc. but would like the latest possible Android version which I read is nougat, is installing a custom Rom different to EU/Global Rom? Would a custom Rom affect the apps available on the play store? (I rooted an android tablet and couldn't use banking apps etc.)
Hoping someone could give me step-by-step general advice and best Roms etc/tutorials links? Also the video recording stated it would be 1080p but is a little fuzzy, it's turned itself off once or twice from sleep mode despite being almost fully charged and the battery seems to quite quickly. Do I need to buy a new battery?
Seems your phone is Redmi 2 Enhanced (HM2014813) which is China only version. i'm sorry to tell you that this version has no official global rom (China rom only available), no custom rom, and mostly no much help about this device. I think the used Leadcore CPU is the main problem.
Flashing miui rom using fastboot method is recommended to get rid of some bloatware. Please note you will still get some xiaomi chinese apps after flashing due to your phone variant.

That's a shame! To be honest it seems to be faulty anyhow so will try to return, if I'm stuck with it I'll follow the guide linkd, thank you for replying :good:
I am from China so I can help lol
I turned on my Note 2014 10.1 today for the first time in, apparently, over a year. And it still had over 90% battery charge on it after all that time. Impressive. It has root access and I'm running version 5.1.1 of Android on it. But I figure there's a newer stable version out by now that I could update the device to. But which one is the most stable, good on battery usage and performance, and with the best features?
Also, I've never used a custom modded ROM before, and I don't have any particular interest in doing abnormal things. So, unless they would offer some performance / power / security / feature or usability advantage, I probably don't need one.
Which ROM would you install to a Note 2014 P605 today?
One ROM I've looked at is this port of Android 6.0.1 - reported to be stable and good for daily use:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-2014/development/rom-android-6-marshmallow-t3254901
I notice there are ROMs of Android 7 and 8, but I don't know if any of them very stable, with good performance, issue-free.
I'd love to know too.. Also is there a ROM that enables smooth playback of h265 videos?
Thanks
Nothing is as stable as a stock rom. And instead of the basic AOSP 6 you can as well stay with Touchwiz 5.0.
Or install LOS14/16/17, all several generations ahead.
My P605 is running rock solid with LOS 14.1 Nougat by @davidmueller13.
Unless you definitely need the s-pen functions (which can be bought as an app afaik) I recommend switching to a new ROM to get newer safety patch levels.
And David's best supported rom is the old Los 14.1.
I'm torn in between going back from Los16 and waiting for an update to the Los17(alpha) from early this year.
S-Pen works in third-party and Samsung apps available in Playstore and you can use it system- wide instead of your finger. Not more.
i need help i can't find the OEM option in the developer mode in my samsung 10.1 2014 i tried fastboot method and i was stuck on waiting for any device i need to be able to install twrp i have tried odin with no success . any suggestion pls
You can't unlock the bootloader?
That's not possible with some P605s with provider branding.
One major hurdle when attaching the device to a pc can be overcome by invoking Fastboot at power - on and then attaching the phone, instead of establishing an ADB connection which will require a reboot into Fastboot mode later on.
Good evening. I am completely new to modded rom installations. Is there perhaps a step by step guide on hoe to install the LOS Roms to my device?
Thanks
Hi! Im getting a V20 H915 (amazon just need to have it arrive to my door, any days now) and i was planning on rooting it to both debloat it and load a ligther OS.
But knowing that many of those ROM dosen't include the second-screen, is there any recommended ROM that I could use that include second-screen function.
(Hopefully a LineageOS build or even /e/ [if i can download apk of online games that I ussualy played on my current mobile])
All ROMs based on lineage 16.0 and above have second screen to my knowledge. If you need help rooting feel free to PM me.

Any ROM that is not stock-based will not have second screen functionality. In our ROMS, 2nd screen is used as the status bar that display time, connections, battery, etc. Unless LG provides the code to us (which they never will), any custom ROM that is not stock-based will not have a functional second screen that acts the way it does on stock. If you want it, download a stock-based ROM.
As far as I know, the AO (Alpha Omega) ROM is the only OREO Rom that has the LG 2nd screen.
