I personally don't recommend this launcher. Perhaps it's because it is only 'supposed' to work on a PX5 and PX6 but I tried it on a different head unit and found it to be incredibly invasive. It renamed the Bluetooth device to 'Vivid', took over a whole load of things and just ran pretty poorly. Perhaps, as you say, it needs integration with a custom ROM, but boi, I wonder what you're giving up when it asks you for so many permissions.
I downloaded it but it required me to register to use it so I just deleted it then. Looks nice in the pictures, but I don't think it would give me what I really want. A different phone/radio app
I think that since the app has an inflammatory "best launcher" title, people are noting invasive/unnecessary permissions and the Play Store registers it as the initial release, the app might have ulterior motives in the background.
Purely speculative, but very worrisome.

Yeah, still need to optimize around asking for permissions, we shall only request that when we really need it. But you can trust that it WON'T do anything bad, and we're making it GDPR compliant.

Thank you for the nice launcher. I just installed and haven't got time to explore further the usability.
I navigated with google maps and waze, the main interface left screen did not show turn by turn navigation, only show the map of the location i was in. For navigation, i have to open the navigation map on the foreground..
Is this normal because Malaysia is not currently supported? Well, most Malaysian read and speak English, why not make it available for Malaysia too?
Thank you once again.
I also saw it in Baidu Post Bar. This is a good transmitter

We're going to show next turn info for Google Maps and Waze, while we can't draw the route on the map, since Google don't allow us to do that.

Data Connection 2G/3G/H
This phone when used on Bell's own network, it can only do 3G & H
(this is not a hardware issue but rather a network issue, there is a topic about this discussion, link coming soon)
However once unlocked the have full 1G(Cuba!)/2G(EDGE)/3G/H on Fido, Rogers, AT&T and any other network that supports the 850/1900/2100 band for data communication
Pre-installed Apps:
TeleNav GPS Navigator if you are not online via 3G or WiFi, you'll get an error message "This application is not available" or something along those lines
The application is not free, it wants you to register for $10 a month, it's safe to uninstall after rooting
BellTV Remote PVR only works if you have a Bell digital cable box for TV, it's safe to uninstall after rooting
Tunes & Apps it's just an Advertisement URL link, it tries to go
Code:
ads.bwanet.ca/getnew.jsp?request=PDAdownload
the link is dead anyways, it's safe to delete after rooting
TV & Radio supposedly to Watch Live TV, Listen to Music and Talk Radio... but it doesn't work.
It might be only available to people on Bell network, the error messages says
> Error
There was a problem
connecting to the service.
Check your data connection.

my recommendation uninstall it if you are rooted, there are better Apps in Android Market that offers the same feature & service
Kobo it comes included with the latest official ROMs. You might want to keep it if you are an e-book reader. It channels you to their online catalog of e-books. Depending from each point of view, it can be categorized as another Advertisement or a Tool.
Personally I'll uninstall it (you'll need to be rooted), the only thing I'll ever read in my phone are PDF files, for everything else i got RSS feeds, tons of e-mails/SMS to go through an lots of websites to keep me busy and relaxed.
AllShare a simple to use App to share your files in the phone to other devices wirelessly.
Worth keeping? Yes
Layar is more of a fun tool than a real utility, it lets you catalog and get info of nearby places where you are standing, it requires the GPS to be ON-line. This App is based on the Anime feature in Eden of the East.
Worth keeping? Yes
Navigation Google Maps Navigation, a simple to use Navigation tool that works out of the box.
Worth keeping? Yes
ThinkFree Office requires activation, but it's completely Free as the name implies (unlike other Apps which claims to be "free" but is crippled one war or another, or with Ads.) you can open and create Microsoft Word Doc, Spread Sheet, and PowerPoint slides, all from the tips of your fingers.
It takes a bit to get used to navigating around the software to do what would normally have been a simple task in the PC.
Worth keeping? Yes
Samsung Apps List of available freebies:
- eBooks by Kobo (the other piece of the forced on ROM Kobo eBook Market)
- Social Hub Push Email and IM (as the name implies it does everything, it's quite good infact, it adds additional supported services to the original version, now it can do Google Accounts, Hotmail/Live Accounts, Yahoo Accounts, Facebook Accounts, Twiter Accounts, MySpace Accounts)
- RoadSMS (SMS that lets you see behind the phone, the road or whatever your phone camera seems to be pointing... great App to check out on girls on the restaurant table in front of you )
- Robert Parker (wine guide)
- Radio Companion (i find it rather interesting, it lets you sing karaoke to the radio station you are listening to... well sort of, it will scroll and display the lyrics as the song plays on the radio station)
- Asphalt5 (racing game, full version, completely free, notice this is not the Asphalt5 HD)
- Vlingo Voice (voice control your phone, dictation, launch apps, etc)
- Krazy Kart Racing (from Konami) cartoonish kart racing game, fun!
- Facebook for Samsung the name says it all it's a new facebook apps from Samsung
- Movies App for movie show times, trailers and reviews

You may want to add something in here about Bell's lack of a 2g GSM network and checking if your phone has the download mode disabled or not. These seem to be 2 common questions on these forums about the Canadian I9000M.
Thanks for the reminder, yes this FAQ is a work in progress
The TV & Radio app is worth keeping if you are a Bell subscriber and into the idea. Basically it is a premium app, you have to pay for subscriptions to channels. But you can access content like live NHL games, HBO, etc.
It also lets you subscribe to and listen to Sirius sat. radio.
But if you don't have a 6GB plan it's a total non-starter.

Edit: alright, I think I found'em. What's tn55-android-blur.apk? The TeleNav application by any chance?

- Krazy Kart Racing (from Konami) cartoonish kart racing game, fun!
Any chance of an apk dump of "Social Hub Push Email and IM" and "Radio Companion" apps? (assuming that they are legal to share, these aren't in my JP3 app store).
I would also ask for Krazy Kart Racing, but pretty sure thats a paid app and I don't wanna break any rules lol..
Otherwise, if no-one can share anything... what firmwares are these apps available for? just the non-beta ones? or just for the bell i9000?
Yes, bell i9000m JH2 is the latest official ROM from Kies
it is compatible with I9000 international, but you will need Odin to flash it
or do the KIES cheat as mentioned in another topic, to make the changes in the registry, so it will download Bell JH2 for you.
But as far as i know, if they are included as freebies inside Samsung Apps, it should also be available to the international i9000 ROMs with Samsung Apps
Thanks for the reply AllGamer
Sorry that I'm a little confused, are the radio and social hub push email included in the firmware or downloadable from the samsung apps store?
Do you know how samsung app store determines phone version? Can we fake this through build.prop or something to download the latest apps, or does it have a more complicated check?
Only cause it seems that the number of apps available to JP3 is limited (and I wanna stick to this firmware for now, it's awesome )

In a boon to those about to head off for their summer holidays, Google is to make it possible for people to use its mobile Maps app without a cellular data connection.
Google Maps already had this feature, at least on Android, as a Labs add-on. However, that required a tricky procedure whereby the user had to select a centre point around which a limited area would be pre-cached. On Wednesday the company said it was making the offline capability official and easier to use.

"Offline Google Maps for Android are coming in the next few weeks," Google Maps engineering chief Brian McClendon wrote in a a blog post. "Users will be able to take maps offline from more than 100 countries. This means that the next time you are on the subway, or don't have a data connection, you can still use our maps."
The announcement also contained several other updates for the mapping app. For those who want to use Google Maps while hiking, Google is to send 'Street View Trekkers' to photograph wilderness areas that can only be accessed by foot.
The company is also extending its Map Maker feedback-and-corrections service to South Africa and Egypt, with Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway and Switzerland all set to get access in the next few weeks.
The moves come as a rival system, OpenStreetMap, continues to gain traction, partly through its use by Apple. OpenStreetMap is, as the name suggests, open source, and it has always been built on user contributions and edits.
On Wednesday Google also announced an update to its Google Earth virtual globe. While it has been possible for the last six years to create 3D models of specific buildings, the company will soon add entire metropolitan areas in three dimensions, as demonstrated in a video.
"This is possible thanks to a combination of our new imagery rendering techniques and computer vision that let us automatically create 3D cityscapes, complete with buildings, terrain and even landscaping, from 45-degree aerial imagery," McClendon wrote. "By the end of the year we aim to have 3D coverage for metropolitan areas with a combined population of 300 million people."
Thats great news! So does this mean that I can be home, connected to WIFI and download the maps for my area, and then just go out with no data/wifi and I will be able to use the navigation feature as a GPS?
My question is where is this offline map going to be stored; Sdcard, cache,...(That's right!! I used a semi-colon)
I don't use maps on my phone at all. Have actually uninstalled the apk, because it was always running in the background eating battery. I do keep it on my tablet but that is bc it is wifi and when asleep it doesn't use data which doesn't use battery.
( ... heard there was a Zen party going on in here ... )
I've used the offline maps Labs addon in the past, but it was only limited to 10 download points. Forgot how large the download radius was, but it was only ok (not wood inducing). I'm curious to see whether this will truly allow you to download offline data all the way down to street level view (as purported in an article I read).
I use Locus Pro on my Tab, and I've used it to download tiles from Google Maps as a source. It's limited to downloading 10,000 tiles per day (from Google), which sounds like a lot but really isn't esp. if you're saving multiple zoom levels per target area. Adds up real quick. Not sure the number of tiles I've downloaded thus far, but it's about 250 MB worth of sd card space. Lol.
I'm curious to see what Google brings us. Any offline map is always handy anyhoo.

I remember trying an app that did something like this, and the maps took up ENORMOUS amounts of memory. i guess this wouldnt be an issue for someone who is nice to their sdcard, but for someone like me who is always tinkering on 90%+ full...im good with the way it is now. but hey, its a good option....options are always a plus.
What I can't wait for is the new Maps that Apple is planning on showing, i think its next week?
Apparently, 3D etc. etc. Nothing that Google doesn't have.
I love how google just plans their maps event before Apples and Apple was the first one to plan it in the beginning (this sentence makes no sense i just re-read it -.-)

* Is there any option to replace the factory apps (radio, music player, dsp controller app) to better looking ones?
* I cannot customize the home screen widgtes. Is there any trick for this? I would like to replace the apps shortcuts on the home screen.
* Screen is too bright in night mode however I have already changed it to the minimum.

Hi, just use FCC launcher instead of regular one, it has many settings and nice interface. In hidden menu (code 8888) you can change what icons to appear, including AC climate if that option is available, and has other options tweeks for anything, just combine. It won't do any harm to device.
Here is a pic of mine tweeked with FCC launcher :
I have another question regarding ALPS FF5000 - 8227L demo software
If any of you are having problems with radio antenna , I mean the radio signal is to low and sometimes when rainy some radio stations are out of range or with noise or losing signal (AF retunes non stop). What to do to fix that or to amplify signal, now is rather somewhat at low level. Tried with bought radio amplifier but signal is improved by a little. Also tried in advanced settings with RADIO / FM sense bar is up to 40 and no changes in signal. RADIO SETTINGS :
ICC 5
RADIO AREA: EUROPE
FM SENSE 40
AF tune ON
OSC : 4M-12M
I have an infotainment 8227L (FF-5000) based on Android 9 (the number on the start screen).
Screen About Device:
But (maybe after installing an app) the APKs can no longer be installed.
Error: "Error when analyzing the package"
I tried with configurations, I tried with factory reset, I tried with an update from the 8227l-8.bin and 8227l-8.upd files in a usb stick.
But nothing, I can't solve.
Can you help me?
Thank you
For bhudcser:
Hello.
I've encountered the same problem:
Even adjusting the brightness to a minimum is annoying and dangerous for night driving.
There is no possibility to adjust it software.
The brightness depends on the voltage to which the monitor is subjected, which is higher than that of the battery. A good adjustment is achieved with a range of 14 - 19V. Unfortunately their voltage booster (regulated by a square wave that comes microcontroller) is gross.
I tried to change a resistance of the booster regulation, but the results were very unsatisfactory.
Therefore I made an external electronic card and designed a buster. Now I adjust the brightness with the knob optimally. In addition, I have provided a photoresistance placed inside the passenger compartment, which varies the brightness also according to the lighting conditions automatically (for example when I enter or leave a gallery).
Knob Photo resistance
I also intervened on the backlight of the side keys (excessive too...)
I'm sorry to give you this bad news,
but unfortunately nothing can be done by acting on the original configurations.
Hi.

I can't find other references to APKs in the infotainment configuration menus.

I rebooted the device and tried again to install several APKs, but the error "Error while analyzing the package" always appears!
This is my device:

I have set the language of the device in English, so as to show you the message:

or try googling it ... I cannot help you seems to me you have outdated version of android
Hi.
II searched for the solution on the Internet for hours, but nothing.
Since the device does not have an option entry to enable unknown apps, I installed the "Hidden settings" app from the play store and looked for the option.
Finally I found it, but unfortunately it is fixed on "disabled" and does not allow you to change it.
Maybe there is a block created by some previously launched app that has performed operations allowed in root,
maybe I should root the device,
maybe there is a need for some sort of reformatting that only the manufacturer can do....
Unfortunately I can not even resign myself to install only from the play store, because some applications I have only as APK (example that of my dashcam).
I find myself an unusable infotainment!
I don't know what to do anymore...
did you try this?
click on the gear where it says HMI: and put in 8888 as the password,
go to OTHER
find INSTALL and set it to enable
find PROTECTION and set it to DISABLE
Hello.
Thank you for the information.
I did as you indicated, in fact the INSTALL option is disabled.
Unfortunately when I try to activate it, it requires a password!
Is this a known password? Does anyone know it?
Thank you

Hi, you have google voice commands just like in any android, just install search bar with microphone icon and try it
In my FF-5000 8227L device google voice command requires an online link.
I would need to give commands even where there is no telephone network coverage

If your device has wifi connection just connect to internet or just make your mobile phone as main network by creating a hotspot and connect headunit thru it.
My ff-5000 8227L owns 16Gb ROM (... flash) and 2Gb of RAM is mounted in a Jeep.
I often travel into narrow valleys and gorges where there is no internet signal coverage. So I need an app that allows OFFLINE voice commands.

Maybe sattelite connections ? It works with tv tuner usb card bought from ali express, In general this is not tested with headunits yet but it involves a small radio dish antenna and usb port in device (sattelite connections also uses radio frequencies similar to broadband routers/wifi), but I must say it is expensive and complicated.
Following this story you can download a program : https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/saiy-ltd/saiy-assistant/ and use this SAIY app or just use GOOGLE ASSISTANT !
I appreciate every idea ,
but I would avoid complicated and expensive solutions.
When I bought the car there was inserted as standard a navigator + mp3 player that accepted voice commands in different languages, all OFFLINE.
The management of the navigator maps was difficult, rudimentary and with paid updates, with a closed operating system.
I replaced it with the FF-5000 getting an Android system and the ability to load and update apps and maps at will, surf the net and more...
Unfortunately I thought I could use voice commands by simply loading an app, but it seems not so!
It seems almost impossible to me that there is no app for basic, simple,
TOTALLY OFFLINE
voice commands such as:
"Browse to location X",
"Call Mary",
or "Play the music track Y"...

This link I gave you , not working ? have you tried any?
Hi Guys!
My new android head unit has a very ugly and poor designed software for using while driving, so I'm already thinking about trying a custom firmware or return it and be back to my stereo + cellphone + BT.
Maybe if I list my issues if you can tell me if a custom rom can solve my problems.
If I can't solve it, maybe it can be useful for developers.
1- Sound switching: Some apps like the FM radio do not pause when another app try to use the audio output, so if a want to run, for example, the Deezer, I have to stop the radio first and only after that I can play the music. (could not find another good radio app)
It is not only annoying, but it is kinda dangerous to look soo much to the screen while driving. In the ideal scenario, when I choose the source using the steering wheel control, the chosen app will play in it last state (the music play keep playing the last song, the radio play the last station etc).
2- Automation: For example, in my original stereo, if I remove the USB stick while playing it will go back to the radio or bluetooth and keep playing music. And if I insert it again, it will detect that is the same USB stick and start to play from the same music again.
3- Steering wheel button mapping: Some apps (mostly the radio again) do not respond to the same logic as the others softwares, so, if I press the pause button, mostly apps will stop/pause playing, but the radio will try to find the next station.
Another problem is that the unit wheel software do not map long pressing the keys, so the numbers of commands are very limited.
4- Fast and accurate volume control: That problem is addressed by the Agama launcher using a gesture on the central ring on the main screen and it works very well, almost like a physical button. But again I could not use the Agama as my solution cause I cannot use the steering wheel control to change the source. In the Agama, If I press the source button to go the bluetooth receiver or the radio, it will stay on the app screen and I have to press the home button to have the main screen again.
If you made it until here, LOL, I think it may work something like this:
- You could choose the main apps to be selected by the source button (kinda like it is now, but you can choose how many sources you have).
- In the SWC (steering wheel control) some buttons would be global and others could be send to the application on the source "slot". Long pressing mapping too.
- Some commands of the SWC could change depending on the chosen source, so it can be more useful in different apps.
- Automation: if you are stopped, you can use the apps and the screen as a normal tablet, but if you reach a chosen speed, the unit will go to the home screen and the apps will run in second plane, unless it is in the list of apps that can stay on the main screen while moving (custom).
- Widgets to control radio and music apps could share the same area on main screen and will be show depending on the source choose.
- When moving, the main screen could priorize gestures to control main functions like volume and screen brightness or turn screen off. The gesture priority could stay on until the first single touch gesture. If you are stopped, the first single touch will enable the "tablet mode" again to permit full use of the unit. The gesture priority would be back as soon you reach the set speed again.
Hope it can be useful. =)
Better you return it. ;-)

Sorry to say, but Torsten is right.
Nevertheless... You even did not tell anything about your unit.
What make, which MCU and of course the current used firmware.
May be one would be able to give some answers...

Sorry, I did read the rules, but when I was trying other launchers, the unit stopped to show the screen after the google logo.
At the time I started to write that giant message I was waiting to the seller to send me the recovery files/procedures, so I would be able look at the MCU model and put it in the specific forum. Happen that he did not sent it yet and I could do it. =)
If I can use your patience for one last question before the weekend, can I run those ROMs in virtual machines to see how they work? I do not have much time to decide to return it, so I'm trying to make the best use of this time.
It is 2-din 9 inches generic capacitive buttons unit with automatic Android Auto and Carplay. (2g+32g 4 cores uis8141 CPU). It has a very good screen, it is very fluida and looks amazing in the car. My main problem it is not drive friendly.
I'm not that laze guy. I did watch and read tons of reviews in forums before decide to buy and honestly, I was not expecting to looking for a custom rom so soon, cause nobody tells how it is not drive friendly. To me, I would only change the launcher for a better looking one.
Another option would be keeping it as a learn lesson and join the development group to try yo make my own mods.
Thank you for any extra help!

There is unfortunately no single custom ROM for these UIS8141.
There are 2-3 other threads talking about these units, but that´s it. Just search in this forum for UIS8141.
By the way... Even if you find any other firmware for these units, I would not recommend to use it. You need to give the Chinese guys at least some time to answer. They start working at least 6hrs earlier (for Europe) and leave work 4-6 hrs earlier than we do.
Wait until Monday and send a reminder early in the morning, that your unit has stopped working.

Thank you! They send me file to reload the firmware using an USB stick and it is working again.
I was think all those Chinese tablet style units had similar software, like the cellphones works, but the Android is very modified. Next time I will try to buy one with a more popular CPU and firmware.
I do realize if I use the original launcher and apps and change only the standard navigation app it works fine, with a very limited interface in terms of customization and information, but works.
The most interesting part (in a bad way) is the system does not allow android widgets to work, so any launcher like Vivid that uses widgets to do custom screens are useless.
I also kinda make it work using the Agama launcher and the NavRadio to control the radio but still a not so fluid experience. The original is "better".
Thank you anyway, you did help a lot.

It is a good tip. I'm not having problem to talk to the Chineses on AliExpress. They just answer only on question per day. LOL
Since this seller in specific sells a lot of these units, I was expecting a better custom service, but it is very crude. No site, no online detailed user manuals... they did send me a very poor quality video on youtube to show how to force the USB upgrade. The seller store is LEHX.
Thank you for the help!

Same problem with other sellers. The Chinese support is very weak and they don't know much about the devices they are selling. Especially if the question is not standard you often get no valuable answer.

You may try Fcc Car Launcher. This is a widget based launcher and works with a lot of different CPU combination.
By the way:
Exactly this is the reason I buy from Klyde.
I can get in contact with Klyde via WeChat and if I have something special, I have a direct connection to the developer and get information or new firmware within 1-2 days.
I don´t buy this kind of things on AliExpress. I never did that and I won´t do that at all. Cheap small things for some bucks... okay, but nothing over $100.

Me too. I think was the first time I bough something over $50 on Aliexpress. Here in Brazil, if you buy anything under $50 for personal use you do not need to pay import fees.
About the Fcc Car Launcher, I did realize the unit are not allowing widgets from any source to be installed, so none of those nice Launchers work as intended.
But it is getting better. The radio integration is better using the NavRadio app from here and now I'm trying to work around the widget problem.
Found some users here that are unlocking the widgets installation on the Amazon Fire Tablet using the ADB and the config files looks identical to mine. If I can find a USB drive that works, maybe I can make the widigets work and make it look a little better.
After the initial frustration, I'm kinda enjoying tinkering with it. Still not sure if I will install it cause I'm very serious about security while driving.
Thank you again. Regards!
By the way, the only reason I'm insisting on it is cause I think it fits very well on my car (a mk2 Ford Focus) and since it has native Carplay, maybe it will be not so bad to use. We will see...

So I got this thing from Amazon there's like 300 bucks on sale so it's worth a little bit more than that which from my experience with previous PX3 px5 systems usually if you spend a little bit more you get a better quality product. But this one doesn't seem to be an mtcb or an MTC I can't really figure out which head unit it is. It says it came with Android 12 and a octa core processor. Also says it has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It looks very similar to my old dasaita hu. It says the processor is a b200 and I've never even heard of that although it said it came within AC8*** processor here's a screenshot of the setting screen if you guys could help me identify so I can find a custom rom and get some information on what I can do with this thing that would be cool. Thank you.

Hence providing the search terms in addition to answering your question which was so graciously gratified. I could have remarked without remiss for a post in the wrong forum, including a software development forum for what might be considered a request for others to do leg work
You really don't want a custom rom and they do not exist. Even the MTCD hacks are just modded factory ROMS which largely fix problems.
Suggest relegating the STM32 to experience and replacing with an UIS7862 FYT based unit. Don't take it personally, the forum is littered with posts from those that buy first and then read the forums second to resolve issues or determine what would have been better. Could also be an opportunity to start a new thread in the correct (Android head-units) forum and start (limited) development for this odd ball.
Not (MTCD) requested moderator move to (Android head-units) forum
Yeah you make a really good point. I didn't think it was going to be that hard to find information on this thing. It'd be cool to have a modded ROM for this particular device as it's not necessarily slow. It just needs some love a little fine-tuning and probably a smack across the face. Haha. Yeah I may look into just selling it and getting another one. Thanks for your input I appreciate it

It looks like I just fell into the same hole! Very similar firmware - STM32 - 20220607-11-BD3-57 but mine also says it's a B100 4 core 32gb/2gb and is running android 12 (supposedly - can't be sure based on others comments of the os/cpu, etc. being faked!) - Only just fitted a few days ago and it's working ok with the navigation software included / plexamp / reversing camera. I'm not too worried about customising the rom in this case but the issues I've had so far:
Google apps all run VERY slow - google maps virtually unuseable, play store is terribly slow to download anything.
Bluetooth to ODB2 adapter won't connect no matter how I try
Can't change the start logo as with other models
Under the Factory settings menu you can log on with code 8888 OR 6666 - using 6666 there is an extra menu item of 'Settings Item Hiding' - I'm guessing that maybe further options for setting up ODB2 might be hidden in there but I can't figure out what the code might be!!

Yeah I've been using Aurora store instead of the Google Play store and I found it more than adequate. I stopped using the play store whenever I could. Plus because it's a stereo other people can get into your car or borrow it I don't like being signed into a Gmail account or any sort of personal data being left on there so what I did is kind of a hybrid method. I use Aurora store for all my Google Play needs I just don't sign into Google Play or Gmail or anything and then I use an account that I made just for my car to like get notifications or at the very least be able to sign into things with Google like Spotify and still be able to have like a playlist personalized and all that but not leave any of my personal account data at risk.
But yeah Google Play store Google maps all of its completely unreliable and unusual so I just went in and disabled Google Play store and I'm probably just going to disable Google Play services as well because it's ****ing useless. Unless one of the other frameworks like a minified open source version or implementation of GSF you know just me better success I'm not really sure what else to do. Switching to another browser will help for your browsing needs so instead of chrome I haven't checked to see if chromium is available for Android but I know Firefox works great so I may switch to that. I'm still in the process of setting mine up. I think when I get some down time later on tonight I'm going to actually try and pull apart the wrong and see what kind of fixes or tweaks I can apply to it. Who knows maybe I can at least get the ball rolling on some sort of development for it and then some of the old hands can come in here then show us how it's done. Maybe if somebody show some actual effort into making these particular units worth modifying as far as their software goes other people will start doing it cuz the processor itself shows promise and it's definitely not slow. I mean in any benchmark that I've seen the AC8257 is ranked in like the top three I guess a lot of the rockchips soc.
And yeah I just actually got into that menu earlier and it doesn't open up much it does give you some engineering tools to modify the camera and the radio a bit. I mean other than it being slow for Google services and not being able to change the default launcher very well or customize how it looks I mean it's doing its job it's just in some aspects it's lacking. I'm hoping I can change that so I don't have to go just flat out by another head unit.
