I have a G900V and it's rooted running Magisk. Previous to last month, I was having no issues with my phone. I've been having issues with black screen of death (captive buttons work, phone sounds, vibrates) but screen wont turn on. It then vibrates twice and I have to battery pull to turn it on. Leaving battery out doesnt help nor does keeping power button pushed in and released for any amount of time. It has rebooted once, and a few times now screen glitches or freezes. I've tried 4 different roms now Lineage 14.1 / 18.1. I did recently update TWRP to the newest version and Magisk 21.4 from 20.3. Otherwise I have kept the same apps and everything else the same.I've also installed brand new batteries, thinking that could have been the cause. My phone charges fine. Any ideas?

I have an original 16GB Nexus 7.
Last night I let the battery run down, and it performed the low-power shutdown Android does.
So I grabbed my charger (OEM) and plugged it in. Then it automatically turned back on. However a few seconds after it came up to the lockscreen, the screen went black and snowy then shut off. It became unresponsive. I had to hold the power button for nearly a minute or two for it to reset. Then it did it again.
Just to make sure it wasn't a ROM corruption, I booted into the bootloader (not recovery), and the problem showed itself there as well.
I posted a video of the above. This indicates to me a hardware problem (no, I've never OC'd it). I've never flashed a custom ROM, recovery or kernel. I've only unlocked it and rooted it.
I'm thinking of sending it back.
Has anyone else seen this?
So I went ahead and updated to 5.0 from 4.4.4 recently, unrooted first, flashed everything to stock, and all seemed well. Device started booting up, got stuck in a bootloop for 5 minutes, eventually powered down and restarted, apps were updating fine, and BAM, black screen. Tried powering the device on, nothing. No bump, vibration, or anything. Plugged the device in and tried booting, just get a battery charging icon (not dead battery one).
Been trying to press and hold VOL + - and Power for 5 minutes now, pressing, releasing, waiting 30 seconds, releasing, with absolutely no results.
What in the hell happened here? Device was working perfectly fine before update, no battery problems, no defects.

Yeah I had the same issue too, just needed to leave it on charge for a long time before it came back to life.

Mine too doesn't deep sleep on any 8+ ROMs. On Nougat (7.xyz) it works, but on LOS, RR, Oreo 8.0+, whatever, it doesn't, not even after a fresh and clean instalation.
I'm starting to think there's something more serious going on (at least in my case), because when I'm on Nougat there's another battery related problem that's weird:
Most of the times when I'm going to charge the phone, it doesn't charge. It shows it's plugged, but battery % does not change. When I try to reboot or turn off the phone, it gets stuck on the "Turning off" or "Rebooting" animation.
The temporary fix I found is to hard reset (hold power button for 10s), and then it starts charging normally, but if I take too long to plug it, the problem will resurface, and another hard reset will be needed.
So...
On Nougat it doesn't charge, and doesn't turn off/reboots.
On any 8+ ROM, it doesn't deep sleeps (charging ok, turning off ok, reboots ok).
Goodluck finding your problem. If you wanna check if it's the "same case", I suggest using a nougat official ROM for like 3 days, to see if the problems I told also happen.
my S7edge, with Stock ROM, never flashed or hacked it.
was working perfectly fine.
Last software update package was a week or 2 ago.
Today, the phone suddenly froze while I'm using it, then restarted and kept rebooting automatically in an endless loop.
I tried to force it to go to recovery mood... it would go to a blue screen saying : "Installing updates" and nothing happens.
kept rebooting into safe mode or recovery/download mode until it suddenly just went totally off.
The charger wires were a bit cut lately, so it would give a broken charging lately, not sure if that caused any kind of problems to the battery or mother board.
Since then, I am not able to turn it on again in any mode.
It also doesn't show any indications when a charger is connected.
So right now it is just dead with no signs at all. non responsive to any force power ON nor to charging.
I left it for more than 5 hours now without charging, nothing changed.
Update:
So I left it overnight. In the morning, I connected the charger and indeed it drained to 0% and started being responsive to charging again.
As soon as it charged to 20% I powered it on. It loaded into recovery, giving the no command screen. Then I went on and selected system reboot.
Then it rebooted and Android started, as soon as I tried unlocking it, it froze and started again into an endless rebooting loop until it blacked out again. Now again not responsive.
I will leave it to drain again. Does anyone know what I shall do when it gets to that endless rebooting sequence. It is obvious that Android had a malfunction... not sure what as I didn't do anything new last week..
Is there a way to get it through without factory reset?
Thanks

Bro flash latest stock rom
Solved !
It was already on stock ROM.
After lots of troubleshooting, rebooting in safe mode without the SD card worked fine. I then rebooted in Recovery mode, wiped the cashe, rebooted again normally with no SD card. Then inserted the SD card after.... got a message that SD card is not supported (seems it got corrupted somehow).
Anyways, now it's fine... let's see for how long...
Hi all,
The weirdest thing happen to my 1,5y old lavender (with official LOS 17.1 on it)
Out of the blue, it started powering off and rebooting, only to run for a couple of seconds and then power off again.
Booting to recovery (TWRP 3.4.0.0) gets to the splashscreen and then power off again. Same thing for Fastboot so no flash of any rom can be done. A couple of times I managed to make it boot "almost" completely but then again power off.
I'm now letting it battery drain to see if there's some progress from there.
Did anybody ever encounter something like this?
I saw this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-7/help/help-phone-rebooting-t4098107 but not progress has been reported.
Thanks a lot in advance.
UPDATE: I left the device to drain all remaining juice until it could no longer power up. Then I charged it again and the issue disappeared. I don't know whether this is gone for good but I hope this may help others.

Maybe battery... Try to keep the charger connected... If boot with charger connected, it's battery fault.
I had similar problem few years ago with an old Samsung S3 Neo, but on that case was easy to replace the battery.
