Been using the m3 for years.
Just now, i spilled some water into the charging/speaker port on the device..
The device suddenly restarted, and start installing update...
But stuck at 5% and "Software install failed!" with hte only "Reboot System Now" option.
Tried the vol up + power method, and successfully (Once) enter the erecovery mode.
Wipe the cache partition, the upon restart, the screen went to the normal bootscreen (water/bubble graphics) for a few secs, then it restart..
It then stuck at bootloop.
Not sure how, i managed to turn off the device, but later, the device suddenly boot up again and failed at the installing update.
I just want to at least turn off the device for now...

EDIT: Turned out that the device will shut down after left for a prolonged time...

I've tried this twice. I think i wiped too much from twrp when i wanted to wipe my phone to install a rom. I was stuck in lg logo screen and used this method. when the phone boots up, my previous rom and settings are intact except i see process "com.android.phone has stopped" followed by bunch of more proccesses that have stopped and it just keep rebooting after i click ok few times on those error messages.
I've used this before and it always installed fresh image. not sure why or how its managed to install my old rom back minus the android processes. I cant do the factory reset from settings either inbetween error messages because the phone reboots too fast.
do you know any other way to factory reset? My phone pretty much loops as soon as the android process has stopped error messages run for about 20 seconds in home screen.
found a solution.
press and hold volume down + power then at LG logo let go of both and press and hold again. at wipe data screen, press power twice and it will boot TWRP/CWM recovery. provided u have it installed
hi all,
Just come back from holiday and SM-G928F edge plus (european model) battery was completely flat.
I charged the mobile and booted it up, loaded into Android then sounded like a lots of notification alerts then phone made a loud buzzing noise and crashed/auto-reloaded.
Since then it had gone into a boot loop. Tried holding power and vol down to reboot phone. Initially this function worked then no longer worked. Phone still stuck in boot loop...
Could not get into safe mode (hold power and vol down then release power)
Tried in recover mode (hold power, vol up and home), tried clearing cache took ages about 1 hour, also tried the format option, rebooted system and still boot loop..
Tried going into Odin mode (power, vol down and home) , used ODIN s/w and installed the latest XER version firmware, got success message but still boot loop...
Interestingly when I left it to constant boot loop, eventually it booted up Android now. However once I start using the mobile it intermittently reboots the mobile and then goes back into boot loop again...
When I did manage to get into Android I tried using an app to check the mobile health, strangely I notice it said I only had 1gb ram spare and the rest was used when mobile was factory reseted and I didnt expect so much RAM in use. During stress test mobile crashed and gone into boot loop again...
I am not sure this was affected by an auto update that may had gone wrong.
I don't root, just used stock firmware.
UPDATE:
Left mobile in boot loop until battery went flat, fully charged it and now can get back into Android. But it started to auto update some app and then auto rebooted/crashed and went into boot loop again.
Please help.
Thanks
Is there anyone who can help me please?
So today i bought my LG G6.
There was a software update (i thing Oreo update) i installed it and when i got to the secure screen on the boot.
I type my PIN ,which was valid and my phone now is stuck on the secure loading screen.
At first i thought it was just going to take some time but after 25 minutes of waiting this started to worry me.
The phone is still on loop and when i use the Power Button and the Vol down the phone restarts but the same thing happens.
I tried everything from restarting it , to hard resetting (which doesn't want to work, the bootloader menu doesn't even show up with all the steps completed correctly) to throwing it on the ground.
(PHONE IS NOT ROOTED)
EDIT:I MANAGED TO SOLVE THE ISSUE BUT NOW IM STUCK AT THE PROVIDERS SCREEN WHICH IS (TIM) AND I CANNOT DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN SOFT RESTART
Regards,
Try put the phone into download mode and use LG bridge to reflash stock [Use the "Update error recovery" to reflash]
Hi guys,
I've been using my Nexus player for over 5 years without any hassle, didn't do any mod. Just plug it into my TV and enjoy it daily. Suddenly this morning, when I turn it on, It starts with "Checking for updates" and then "Something went wrong, please try again later" message stuck on the white screen. I can't do anything else. So, I thought a wipe to the cache would be good enough, booted into the recovery mode and wipe/format cache partition.
It took too long. I wait about 10 mins it still stuck at "formatting cache partition". So I unplugged it and reboot again.
Sadly, it won't boot into recovery mode or normal mode. It stuck at "no command' screen. Need help with what else I can do or how to go back to recovery again to factory reset.
Thanks.
I was recently flashing what I thought was a newer version of TWRP for my SM-T510, but now I realize that I probably flashed an incompatible image. Everything went fine for a couple of days until I needed to boot into TWRP again, the first time I've done this since I flashed it a couple of days ago. Upon rebooting, I got as far as the unlocked bootloader warning screen, pressed the power button to pass it, and it immediately rebooted and started the process again. This time I skipped pressing power and chose to wait out the warning, and it rebooted again. Leaving the tablet alone, it just goes through this bootloop cycle continuously.
I've tried holding the power + vol combo to get into download mode but it just causes the tablet to skip the unlocked bootloader warning and reboot again. I've also tried letting it loop overnight to drain the battery and try again in the morning to no success. The tablet only begins the bootloop process all over again as soon as it is plugged in.
Is there anything I can still do to get it out of this bootloop?
I have the same problem and I've just solved it. Holding down both volume up & volume down at the same time, and plugging it in puts the device into download mode.
