I know this wasn't due to the OOS11 upgrade because I'm pretty sure until a few weeks ago, the upgrade screen looked just like it did in OOS10. But now it looks like this. The upgrade to 11.0.1.3 went fine as usual after restoring stock boot image, but there wasn't even a changelog or any info displayed at all (such as size of update). Just the button in the bottom right corner that said "Update" , then progress bar at top like normal, then the button changed to "Restart", again with no other info on the screen. Just to be clear, it changed to this b4 upgrading to 11.0.1.3 and I'm 99% sure it wasn't originally like this on 11.0.1.2 (the first OOS11 version)
It's as if Google pushed an update to make the screen look like the Pixels, but OnePlus isn't ready for it. You can note the screen also isn't themed dark, like it was before, and like the rest of settings screens with dark mode on. At least it still works, but I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be like this.

Updated mine this am, no change in screen before or after upgrade.
I just realized something. @vrman or anyone, did anyone else get a notification from Play Services about a week before 11.0.1.3 (so 2 weeks ago max) or anytime since then advertising "new features" (none of which are new at all, the newest being the "new" editing features in GPhotos). I noticed the same pop-up on my backup phone, a Moto G7 power, running latest (from February) Android 10 completely stock, earlier today. However the G7 still has the Motorola customized/tweaked OTA/update screen.
If you did get the notification about so called new features, does your OTA screen look messed up like mine or normal like @vrman ?
Thanks very much!!

I don't remember getting any notifications regarding play services. My Play Services did upgrade around June 10th to version 21.21.16

At least it's not just me
Update: Checked the system update screen and it's back to how it's supposed to be. Didn't change a single thing. Must have been some incorrect push to some HD1925s, but seems to be resolved now.

Anyone trying it?
Beta 1 also known as DP2.
https://www.google.com/android/beta
Taking the plunge right now. I'll report later.
anyone else try it yet? I am assuming it is daily driver ready like N beta was
I am also waiting to see what people are reporting, hoping it's stable. Since I am on a custom rom it's a bit of a pain to load, don't see factory images yet.
I was thinking about trying this Android O beta out. I have a Verizon Pixel running stock (the bootloader is unlocked though). Should I have any issues?
Also, I know if I opt out of the beta, I'll lose all user data but will I lose user data when opting in and upgrading the Android O?

Unlocked bootloader is not a problem, in fact its better to have the option if anything goes wrong.
If you switch to official O when it's out no wipe required. Only if you want to go back to N.
I too am waiting for reports before i put it on my daily. i will be throwing it onto my nexus 6p tonight thought to try it out. if i dont see any bugs that are too bad... i may throw it on the pixel
Really eager to hear about battery life impact here if anyone can provide feedback.
Can anyone give some basic info about stability? I'd love to jump on with my Daily Driver, just if it isn't ready for it, I'll wait. Thanks in advance!
took forever to install(half hourish).900 mb
everything works so far without a wipe coming from the latest verizon 7.1.2 build.
confirmed tested on my part
camera
android wear connects
fingerprint unlock(seems faster)
foxfi usb tether fosho
overall seems buttery and the pulldown menu is surely nicer with being able to hit settings button without a reach is really nice. i couldnt get picture in picture to go but i didnt dive into the menus too far yet. so far so good. i think it's safe.
Factory images and OTAs for ODP2.

It's a nice beta so far. One thing noticed is double tap to check turn on the black screen but tapping the screen or notification icons won't do nothing and theme option won't switch to Pixel theme, even selecting it. Notification dots is a very good implementation for handling notification in a easily way. Ending my words, another great thing is that now night light have a intensity slider.
Any one has magisk or any root method working on this
Tried to update from latest Android N, didn't boot up, got a data corrupted message during install...
Can I now flash the Android O Factory Image without -w to get it running?
and most people in that tweeter feed can't get it to go either. every time i longpress home it launches assistant. and the setting to allow pip for youtube chrome and google play services are on by default.

I just checked my Note 8 and sure enough ... the update is ready from Verizon. I'm installing it now before I leave for work. Let's hope this thing works out okay. This is my work device!
Same here, I am downloading now.. And I hope it works out well also....
Sent from my note 8...
Ah, just got back into the country, saw the posts, checked and it's available. NorCal.
r_r
Just got it as well! https://thematridox.com/2018/03/30/samsungs-galaxy-note-8-get-android-oreo-on-verizon/
does it have the video lockscreen?
Network mode in oreo has changed... Global mode was removed!
I just noticed that 'message tone' has been removed from the contacts page. No more individual text message tones for your friends or family! UGH! Why remove a feature that's been on every Android I've owned since 4.2? I don't want to use a different text messaging app. I liked the way its been set up for the past ..umm... 10 YEARS! I'm certain that Apple will never remove that feature from their devices. I want ROOT so I can go back and FIX IT!
First rule of programming ... don't remove features unless they are broken. New versions should ADD improvements, not remove features that have been around forever that has always worked! I'm almost tempted to use ODIN to go back to 7.1.1. Makes me wonder what else is missing. I'm not happy with my $1000 phone

I still have it. I have Global, LTE/CDMA, and LTE/GSM/UMTS
So far, I've noticed the phone is faster and the enhanced lock screen and notifications are great. The occasional split second hiccups when opening apps seem to have gone away. The battery seems to drain more quickly but hopefully it will settle after a few charge cycles.
I forgot to take a screen before I plugged it up, but I ran it yesterday from approximately 11am until today at 1pm. So for a new build, it wasn't bad at all.. The only hiccup I had was with my poweramp audio player.. But I uninstalled and reinstalled and it seems fine..
But it is certainly much snappier.. And the little default YouTube picture in picture is pretty cool (simply because it just does it on its own). But I sure at some point it will begin to get in my nerves just doing it all the time...
But I took a screen of the battery stat for the screen and attached it...
Sent from my note 8...
Has the sound improved like the S9? Is there an option to turn on Atmos sound?
Is anyone missing the force touch settings feature whwn you hold down on an app from the home screen or apps page it brings up options for the app. I cant get mine to work. Seen here at 1.min mark.
Update… i have it. Doeant work for all apps.
Can anyone tell me if I go from a rooted Verizon note 8 and update to Oreo, if I can't get the hotspot to work right, will I be able to downgrade to re-root? Or if I backup what I have now using flashify, can I go back using the restore option on flashify?
i cant get the update via ota or from samfirm

Here is all you need to update from Nougat to Oreo.
https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-galaxy-note8-android-oreo-update/
After following the instructions up above and you have Oreo installed, follow the next instructions to install CRC2 here and then CRC4, then CRC5
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-...-patch-on-the-samsung-galaxy-note8/?nocache=1
Well, I finally got the Double Stuf Oreo goodness on my Note8. It was an absolute NIGHTMARE to get, though!! Had to do it an unholy SIX TIMES before it stuck - the first five wound up reverting back to the stock Nougat upon rebooting!
Happy to report that after a few charge cycles, battery life is great again.
I am on a Note 8 and the last OTA Oreo patched the hotspot hack via bk package disabler. I am doing the sim card trick right now for my hotspot and it's been working like a charm. It is critical for me to keep this... does anyone know if the current update being pushed now patches that as well? If so, can I disable the system update notification?
Thanks in advance
While I'm glad that Samsung has decided by themselves that my games need to run in fullscreen, I have text and buttons scrolling off the screen I can barely get to, or can't read at all because of this. How do I disable this and get my games back? When I go into the display settings, the apps are greyed out and do not give me an option to shut this off.

Hey there,
Another way to disable fullscreen is to press the all apps button in the nav bar and then that small black button you can see in the screenshot. That disable fullscreen for me. But keep in mind that there are apps that automatically change to fullscreen because they are optimized for that.
Hppe that helped you out.
Which games do you mean especially?
Then i could try it myself

Sorry, I tried to attach a screenshot last night and I don't know why it didn't work. I shall try again here, but when I choose the All Apps sort, I have no black button anywhere except the bottom left of the screen which hides the navigation bar from the settings screen, but does nothing for my games. Also, yes, as you mentioned, this is one of those games that Samsung wants to say is "optimized" and disables the option for me to turn it off. Been playing this game for about a year(?) and this did not happen until about a week ago. WWE Champions is the name. You can see the titles in each section being cropped off and you kind of make out a button to the right of "Expedition", or "Xpedition" on my screen that is almost completely hidden.

Ok i have the same pronlem with the game.
I forgot to attach the screenshot in my first response.
I'll attach it now that you know what i actually meant.
You could try to contact the support and tell them the game is not correvtly sized.
If you are rooted you can try to edit your screen resolution so that the game could(don't know if that would even works)
Sorry i couldn't help more
I appreciate the help, but, yeah, I have had complaints about Samsung's Game Tools ever since I've owned this phone and this will likely be my last Samsung phone if I can help it. Was so much happier with my old Nexus 6P stock Android.
Hey, I have the exact same problem.
I've updated to Android 9 with my S9+ Yesterday and then I found out that the WWE SuperCard game is stretched because of this problem. The system thinks it's optimized for the screen but it isn't.
Is there any solution for this problem?
Android 9 sucks! Trash ! Rubbish !
Prefer 8.1 Oreo
I think it primarily turned out to be a developer issue. Their code was causing it to look bad until they patched it. I gave up on the game eventually, but I also ditched my S8+. Went with the Pixel 3 XL and couldn't be happier.
So, did it get solved??
I have the same problem with WOT Blitz. I cannot play the game anymore. Since updating to Android 9, the system says the game is optimised for full screen, which it is not, so I cannot see the entire screen and buttons moved to the side. Did anyone find a solution in the end?
Like I just mentioned before, it's very likely a developer issue versus the phone. They will likely have to release a patch, but I just got tired of dealing with it. Have had zero problems with the Pixel 3 XL and never going back to Samsung.
Yes!!! Away with spamsung from the earth!!!
Spammy should be banne, ssued and shut down by now!!!
Hello
Since I bought the Note 9 I have a theme bug in the message app, the themes that try to change the messages bubbles don't do it anymore.

You can't use night mode with themes on. They cancel out each other now.
What android version are you on? If you're on Pie but you're installing a theme and the homescreen screenshot in the store shows the clock widget at the Top of the screen, then that theme isn't updated for Pie as yet and will cause issues with theming.
I am still on Oreo 8.1 and frankly I don't think I will upgrade to Pie, I saw it and OneUi on my wife's S9, it is very elegant and round but all is black or white, no more colors
In fact I had the Note 8 before and it worked properly, when the Note 9 went out, I thought it would be better, with more battery, enhanced audio and so on, but basics like the themes do not work, and I am starting to regret the change.
Besides all the apps have been upgraded to their current version under Oreo

It depends on theme you use. I have themes on Pie with colours everywhere.
I tried Pie and went back to Oreo. Many dark themes, even those updated for Pie had elements that didn't work properly (white text on white backgrounds, misaligned bubble menus). Perhaps they'll improve over time.
For now, Oreo works great and many of the Pie enhancements are available through Good Lock.
And ironically, this upgrade has shown up on my phone yesterday.
Trouble is I really want to stay on Oreo
But now there is a notification about the upgrade that is bugging me and I can't get rid of it. I seached google for a solution but apparently without rooting the phone no one found a way to stop it.
It can be stopped by using an ADB command to uninstall the Software Update app.

Thanks a lot for these links, the first one did wonders to help me git rid of the daily installation proposal
As for the notification, I*now use NCleaner
Cheers. I'll try to be specific. I have absolute minimum experience in this kinda stuff. Just today my tablet received an update which I readily installed only to regret it later (I liked One UI 2.5 better), and so I went to search for info on how I can downgrade it. The guide I came across first and which I used was this one. Older firmware version was downloaded off of sammobile, here's the link to the specific version. Now, one thing I wasn't completely sure about was CSC. I bought this tablet from a guy who used it as a temporary TV replacement, and I'm almost sure it was initially purchased here in Ukraine, too, but there's still a slight possibility that the CSC was different.
Anyways, in the archive with the firmware I found 4 files: AP, BL, CSC and HOME_CSC. Using Odin3 v3.13.3 and the three files (AP, BL and HOME_CSC) I attempted to downgrade the device. It all went well, no errors during the process, but the tablet won't boot now. Here's the screen that I'm getting:
{

I still can get it into Download Mode tho. Later I tried to do the exact same thing, but with disabled Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options, but it didn't do much.
What can I do at this point to bring it back into a working state? I don't have all that much data on it as I've got it relatively recently, but there's still some stuff, so if possible I'd rather not reset it completely unless absolutely necessary. Any help is highly appreciated!
Quick update. I attempted flashing it with a differens region firmware, still no luck. Tried to reboot to bootloader, but it's getting stuck on "Entering fastboot..."
Flashed it again, but with the recent update downloaded with Frija. It did boot alright with all of my data still there, so at this point the problem is in finding a working way to downgrade it without running into the same issue again. Any recommendations?
Sorry I can't help. When you are out of emergency mode, please tell us what is wrong with the current update to UI 3.0 and Android 11. I received the update notification, but haven't updated yet. I'm always suspicious of major version upgrades without any minor number. The Samsung blurb is here: https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-P610/XSA/doc.html
There are many cosmetical changes that I don't approve of:
- App drawer now has a light gray blurred background while 2.5 only blurred the wallpapers and made them a little darker. Same applies to the menu that you drag down from above
- Notification and settings boxes corners have became more rounded
- 2.5 music player had no background and only added buttons on top of the locked screen on the side, which made it look very slick. New music player now looks like a notification box and is positioned in the middle
- Unlock screen now has 2 additional arrows and a lock icon at the top as opposed to 2.5 look where there only were 9 dots to draw the pattern on
- Volume change is now displayed to the right side and looks like a termometer bar filling from bottom to top instead of a blue slider that was popping up from above
All of these visual changes were completely unnecessary and no user was given a choice in case they preferred old looks to new one. Also, despite permormance improvement being noted, I personally have noticed none as, honestly speaking, my device already was working fast enough.
Here are some picks that show what changed in my case:
Unlock screen
App drawer/upper menu background change
Music player change

Thanks for your answer. Any functiona issue ? Did anything stop working ? The cosmetic issues you mentioned don't quite affect me, except the round corners. If Samsung releases a minor version update above basic Android 11 UI3 then I will apply the update.

When you downgrade to an earlier android version, you have to factory reset. That's what I normally do to get it to boot, which I also did in this case. This first iteration is garbage. Scrolling lag, crap dolby atmos and a couple of older apps not displaying properly. Same thing with my s9 when upgraded to android 10.
My advice is not to upgrade to a newer android version for a couple of months until samsung gets it right.
