Mobile Data[OFF] > Airplane mode?

So I noticed in 2.2, they replaced airplane mode toggle with mobile data toggle in the notification drop down.
So is this the same as airplane mode? It still says I have 1 bar. Is this not kosher while on a flight now?
It just disables the data connection and leaves the cell radio on. That way you'd still be able to make calls and send texts
Hold the power button down for a second and you'll see airplane mode as one of the options.

Thank you!

Does not reconnect to data

Hi,
My note 3 on the Three uk network does not reconnect data automatically after coming out of a area with no signel just stays in emergancy calls only until i either restart the phone or put it into flight mode and out again really really annoying. At work i get no signal and after finishing unless i remember to toggle flight mode i will not recive any text or phone calls until i do meaning i miss stuff.
Anyone getting really annoying having to put into flight mode and out about 5 times a day now!

Theater mode not working in low signal areas (moto360)

I have this issue where the screen will keep turning on even though theater mode is enabled. I'm still trying to determine exactly what causes this, but as far as I can tell, it appears that the screen turns on when my phone signal goes from no data to data. This gets really frustrating when I'm in a fringe area or a building (like a theater......) that has low signal.
I found a way to replicate the issue
1. Turn on airplane mode.
2. Turn Bluetooth on and verify watch is connected
3. Turn off airplane mode
Every time I do this, the screen on the watch turns on despite theater mode being on. Let me know if its the same for you so I can know whether its just me/my watch/my phone.
Oddly enough, it doesn't happen if I turn mobile data off and then back on, so that makes me question my hypothesis....
Anyways, if you have any ideas or work around let me know.

WiFi calling notification with Good Lock?

Using Good Lock, I don't see any notification about WiFi calling being turned on. I didn't care until earlier today when I apparently lost WiFi calling for a while without knowing it (the phone didn't respond to incoming calls, and when I eventually tried I couldn't make an outgoing call, even though the phone had a strong WiFi connection). I force WiFi calling by turning on Airplane Mode, then re-enabling WiFi (which Airplane Mode initially turns off).
So it would be useful to have a WiFi Calling notification icon, which I seem to recall from before I started using Good Lock. Is there any way to keep Good Lock but get that notification icon back?

GPS on or off in Airplane Mode?

Hi guys
Is the GPS supposed to be on or off in Airplane mode? Mine seems to be on which seems odd to me. I have an app that just keeps using GPS even though it's closed and the phone is in airplane mode. I need it for work so I can't disable location access to it. Was hoping airplane mode would shut location off but it doesn't...

it's the same for me and it makes perfect sense. Airplane mode is meant to disable all communication that might interfere with the plane. GPS, however, is receiving only (and the satellite doesn't care if your device is listening or not), so there is no need to disable it as it cannot interfere with a plane.
If your requirement is to have gps disabled in some places, why don't you disable it? I mean you have to manually go into airplane mode anyway, so why not disable gps manually via quick settings in the notification bar and you're good?
