Hello! I've an old Galaxy Core Plus with stock 4.2.2 and i would like to install a new recovery like TWRP and alight rom like lineage or similar.
I've tried to install TWRP (verso 3.5.1_9-0-cs02, for galaxy SM-G350/core plus) but it returns FAIL with Odin.
I would try with adb, but the phone with "adb restart bootloader" or with Power button+Volume Down does not enter the bootloader and simply it reboots.
What can i do to install them?
Thank you

Hi there,
I wanted to install latest CM10.1 coming from 0526 yesterday on my Defy+.
Did a backup with TWRP first.
Then the flashing failed, so I wanted to recover from backup.
Phone now is stuck at Motorola M not booting anymore.
When I enter bootloader (vol down) and want to enter "custom recover" he just jumps back to the same menu. TWRP is not starting.
Choosing "stock recovery" is possible, but if I choose a CM10.1 zip file it's not accepted.
RSD Lite does not recognize the phone when it's in the bootloader menu or in the stock recover menu.
Help is very much appreciated, what can I do?
Thanks and best regards.

Okay, I found out why I couldn't enter flash mode by using Vol+ when starting.
The phone powered already up when I put in the battery, so I always pushed Vol+ too late.
Pressing Vol+ WHILE inserting the battery did the trick, phone went into flash mode and I could re-flash 2.3.6 sbf using RSD lite.

Still not sure why TWRP was messed up just by recovering from a TWRP-made backup...
Best regards
Same situation to me.
I opened Terminal Emulator, gained root access
then type below command to get recovery mode
# reboot recovery
Custom recovery not running
I have a similar issue.
I rooted my stock S4 and installed the proper TWRP.
Heres where my situation is a bit different from anything I have seen on the forum threads. All attempts—both hard and soft—to reboot into recovery, all direct the reboot to Odin Mode. Just to clarify I have not flashed any rom custom or stock, the only thing I have flashed has been TWRP and CWM recovery. And I only flashed CWM AFTER the Failings of TWRP.
When I attempt to boot into recovery, it flashes the blue characters then sends me into a Odin Mode loop until I hard-key the "download mode" and select restart to boot the os normally.
my phone works fine other than not being able to flash custom roms, which is a pain in the arse especially with all the s4 Bloatware.
Here's what I have done so far to help myself:
• install CWM recovery
• tried hard-key reboot recovery (power off/ press home/volume up/power)
• soft reboot recovery through both Goo, CWM and ROM Toolbox pro
• removed my sd card and tried reboot recovery
• removed battery and reboot recovery
• emulator reboot recovery
• reboot recovery both with and without usb cable
I looked into flashing stock with Odin but all tutorials i could find were of an older version and I didnt want to guess what I needed to get that to work,
Please let me know if theres anything I can do.

So I rooted my Nexus Player running Marshmallow (6.0) using the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/wip-android-6-0-marshmellow-t3219344
My bootloader is unlocked, I flashed the boot.img from the first post in the above thread, (already flashed TWRP), then booted into recovery and flashed SuperSU 2.56 from the 2nd post. When I launch SuperSU it tells me that the SU binary needs to be updated, but it can't do it the "normal" way so I try to do it via the TWRP way, it says it's going to attempt to boot into recovery, but recovery never comes up, it looks like it's rebooting, and just hangs on a black screen. So I tried doing "adb reboot recovery" when SuperSU says it's going to try to reboot into recovery itself and do that before clicking ok, but I get the same results. If I go into recovery via the hardware button, no updating happens. It just loads recovery. If I load up the Nexus Player like normal boot, and connected to my PC do "adb reboot recovery" it loads the recovery fine without hanging on any black screen.
So I'm at a loss here on what to do. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
First of all, i'm a noob so please don't mind any technical mistakes.
I recently flashed RR on my device with TWRP, and all was working quite fine.
But then, I decided to try out DU, and flashed it. But my phone was stuck on the lock screen with a "com.android.phone stopped working" message.
I used ADB to wipe my data ( for if there were any conflicts) using : fastboot -w
My phone now is working fine, But i've lost root access, My phone DOESN"T BOOT INTO RECOVERY.. Holding vol+ and power just ends up in a screen with the RR logo( yes RR, even after flashing DU).
I've tried to flash TWRP using ADB again but it's not working.
ROM manager says I've got TWRP and CWM installed.
Also Kingo and Framaroot aren't working.
I would really want to get back:
1.Root access
2.TWRP
Some help will really be appreciated....
Press vol up+down and power button simultaneously, to access recovery.
I've tried that, my phone just shows the RR logo screen and nothing else.
Alternate method
dude you just need a pc with adb driver installed then go to bootloader mode by pressing vol- and power button, then using adb command write (fastboot boot recovery.img).
Here recovery.img is ur twrp recovery or other, then it will flash recovery.img in ur phone and automatically go into the (twrp) recovery.
(u need to copy recovery.img in ur adb folder before u write that command)
I have done that... It does flash twrp onto my phone..but my still doesnt boot into twrp...
then use another recovery, sevenmax twrp recovery is the best.
my Samsung glaxy grand prime wont boot into twrp instead all it does is boot into normal boot ive tried everything please help!!!
:crying:
Did your phone boot in stock recovery, before twrp? Are you using the proper version of twrp for your model?
did u use the key combo vol up+power+home button? after flashing using odin try to do it when it restarts, sometimes android restores automatically to stock recovery during that time. give it a try xD
or you can try to root using king root, then install super su if it isnt already. download the twrp app, flash the recovery there and restart from there as well using the restart into recovery option.
I hope it helps xD
Help
In pc Odin, it showed twrp installed successfully. When I boot my phone using the combo home+power+volume up, it takes me to original Samsung bootloader

Hi all
I have a question that has probably been asked before but i cant seem to find a definite answer.
I have a Note 3 SM-N9005 (Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974)). I would like to flash latest TWRP. I am sure i have the right TWRP (https://dl.twrp.me/hlte/)
All goes well in Odin but TWRP doesnt boot up. The phone keeps rebooting to the Samsung logo . (FYI i have previously installed latest TWRP on the S3, S4 and S5 along with custom ROMS with not a single problem)
Trying previous versions of TWRP i found the only one that works is twrp-c-hlte-4.4.img.tar, but that is too old to use to flash Android 8.1 or 9.0.
All my searching shows many instructions with a successful installation of TWRP 3.0 or greater on a Note 3. But i cant get that to happen.
Hoping that someone can help with an answer please.
Thanks in advance
Flash it by recovery and not with odin...
Hi
Sorry, Not sure what you mean
Do you mean flash TWRP by going into stock recovery and selecting applying an update from external storage (SD Card)
If so what file type do i need? img or tar?. img i presume
FYI, i am rooted and have tried the following;
*. adb fastboot. (dvice is not recognised in fastboot no matter what drivers i install)
*. Flashify
*. ROM manager
*. ODIN
All flash the latest TWRP (successfully according to the on screen message) but when trying to enter recovery i get a boot loop. Even when i try to boot to the OS, it stays in the recovery boot loop
I recover from the boot loop by re-flashing stock rom (Android 5.0, the latest from Sammobile for my device)
Thanks
turn off auto reboot while flashing twrp in odin (hlte)
