Tesla Style Headunits

Hi everybody,
there are some new Android head units around with a bigger screen than the current double din ones. The resellers often calls them "Tesla Style Headunits". Sadly I've not found much information about it, yet. So I bought one on the SinglesDay in China via Taobao to check it out.
I already did a lot of research on the Internet about these things. But until now, I've not figured out who the actual manufacturer is. I think with these units it is the same like the MTCB/D, one manufacturer and lots of resellers. Here is a Link to a site that lists lot of theses units with the specs. But of course they are nearly the same. The only difference I saw was 1GB vs 2GB Ram and 16GB vs 32GB Rom. http://www.cusptech.com/index.php?c=products2
I tried to get to recovery mode, but no luck until now. But just in case something bricks while testing or to optimizing the Rom, it would be great to have the update.img. For that I contacted the reseller, but get the normal bla bla bla. Its stable (yes of course :silly and no updates are planned and so on.
On youku.com I've found a video, where someone did the update http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTU5NjkwNDEyNA==.html. So it must be possible somehow. But my Chinese is not the best, so I can't contact that guy
So if anybody has more informations of any type about these units, would be great if he shares.

i dont have any info, but i would like to see more units made for newer cars

There are some small updates.
First: Rooting via Kingroot is possible.
Second: I've managed to get the SystemApps and found the Bundle ID's com.choiceway for the launcher and com.szchoiceway for other apps like radio. But google it, did not bring any results
Further I was able to decompile the settings APK and extract all factory Pin codes. For now, I won't post it public, to keep the risk that the manufacturer maybe changes them, as low as possible. But if you are interested in them, you can PM me anytime. If interest is increasing, I will post them here of course.

Update 3
With the root I've found some config XML Files. The files are all called "customer_***.xml". There are 12 of them. I think they control the GUI for the different resellers. So I have merged all options into one XML-File and got all the GUIs available. The two "Customers" with the bigger XML-FIles are OCCAR (奥车凯) and Carcool (车酷时代). I don't know if they are manufactures or resellers, but my circuit board is also labeled with OCCAR, so I think they are manufacturers. Searching with the Chinese names I found the websites of these two. http://www.occar.cn and http://www.carcoolera.com / http://www.sz-carcool.com. I tryed to contact them via the WeChat App, but they did not response. Maybe they don't speak English.
Is there anybody here, who speaks Chinese and could contact them for me, please?

I just ordered the same device for Ford Kuga 2014. I ordered it from other seller then you. Now DVD is on the way to me, but i got the firmware update.img from seller.
I have unpacked it with RKTOOLs and looked inside. Now there is 20 customers.xml files.
The first question is - can we add other languages then china and english?

thats awesome. One of the best news in 2017 until now Since the start of this thread and today, I contacted nearly 12 resellers and manufacturers, without any luck. Could you please upload the update.img somewhere for me? I also would like to inspect it. Maybe i can preroot it, so that Kingroot is not needed anymore. Did he also tell you how to get into the recovery mode?
So they managed to get 8 new Resellers. Lets see, maybe they also added some new Interfaces.
Adding languages should be possible i think. I decompiled some Apps Like the Launcher.apk and Navisettings.apk. These two are building the main GUI. And there are lot of strings to translate . Examples are at the Attachments. Then there are of course even more Apps like the Radio, Music, Movie and so on. So I think its possible, but means a lot of work.
I will send you a PM with the pin codes for the factory settings.

However I would like to note that out of the box my unit was already on version 5.1.1 however still shows up as KitKat ? It also has a date of 201612xx which is later? Hope this helps.
Also how did you root ? Really don't want to brick my new unit.
Also a interesting note is the ram mention 625/2G where on your screen shot shows 1GB. However when I look into running apps, my total ram is 1GB so not sure what is happening here.

These units use a Rockchip RK3188/PX3 which can take up to 2GB RAM. MTCB/C/D units also use this chipset and several of us in the MTCB forums have bought new RAM chips and upgraded to 2GB, from the pics it looks very likely that these units would take the same RAM modules.

you are right, 1GB of RAM is really not the optimum, 2GB would be way better. But I think typos1 is also right and an RAM upgrade should be possible. If you are interested in that, I can took a picture of the other side from the mainboard, there you can see the RAM.

I rooted with the Kingroot.app. But you should be careful with that, once rooted its very hard to get rid of the Kingroot App again. Factory reset does not help in this case.

I think you should trust the Android information screen. The YXZ/2G Info is, as far as i know until now, only a string inside the Navisettings.apk and outputs the info depending on the vendor set in the customer.xml. So I would say its fake and your unit also has 1GB of RAM. You could also check it with the CPU-Z App.

Spoke to the reseller. He mentioned they made the update to fix the issues with mirrorlink. Not sure about this as I could not get this working. Advisers to install MOB Interconnection service.??
Also how do I post the screen shots ? Usinf mobile version? Any other quick way?

That's a bit difficult, because the statusbar is hidden by these units. You could install an APP from the Playstore or just do it oldschool and took a picture with your smartphone
No, I'm still on 1GB. At the moment I don't have planed to upgrade.

I have two update files for these units. The units I ordered are 10.4" Vertical oriented for 2015 Mustangs. I was able to get the software from the supplier, and I would be happy to provide people with the files, but I'm not allowed to post links to my Google Drive or Dropbox.
Also, we have already extracted the img files and checked the build.prop and everything we could find, but I'm not savvy enough to know, is there a way to remove the password for advanced options on the unit, by using the img files?

No came pre-installed. I asked for the update file but he didn't have it. I've got screen shots in the below link which I hope helps.

You mentioned that it will be different unrooting. Are you saying this will just take time or impossible? I want to disable allot of the programs to save Ram is that makes sense or is there a better way to do this?

Does anyone think they could find out what a PIN code is by having the source files of the image? I have tried all of the common ones, to no avail.

Rooting is possible via Kingroot, like I said. It's just hard to get rid of it again, if you don't trust the Developer of Kingroot for example or because of any other reason.
If you only want to save RAM and not Space on the ROM, then I would recommend to first try to uninstall or disable the unwanted apps via the settings menu. If you don't know how to do that, maybe this helps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puTFvKFNyH8

Until now, I have not flashed or inspected these images. So I can't give any further informations at the moment. If you decide to flash it, you are using it at your own risk. I'm not responsible for any damage at your units.

Sorry, my mistake. Please try again.

After spending time with those files this weekend, the first is just the 4.4.4 image that came on my unit, the 2nd file is the 5.1 upgrade. The downside is, they are designed around the Mustang, so it will have a Mustang-themed boot screen, as well as a Mustang in the launcher.

New Joying 5.1 UL124N2.....No GPS Voice, also need Tasker help

I just installed this unit and have not been able to get Google Maps to speak at all, I swear I have checked every setting possible. After each time I try a setting I go into Maps and hit "play test sound" in the navigation settings.....no voice output.
I had high hopes of using Tasker to read incoming SMS from Mighty Text.....read my Calendar appointments on startup.....and "Auto input" plug-in to automate lots of stuff........but so far unsuccessful on all of these...........These were my biggest reasons for getting an Android HU.....so needless to say I am not happy so far. I thought this would work very similar to my Android tablet.
Would rooting give me more abilities that I am looking for......I have no experience with rooting anything......I knew this unit would be a bit of a project....thinking that tasker would solve most things I didn't like about it .......but if I can't use Tasker then I'm not sure what to do.

FWIW I have the exact same problem with mine and am unable to find a solution.
I contacted Joying about it but all their tech support says to do is try another version of Google Maps.
From what i can tell, **any Google apps** using the native Google Speech to Text engine simply do not work. This includes Chrome, Google Maps, Google Now, everything.
Other apps such as Hound, work fine.
If anyone has a solution to this problem, or contacts at Joying who care enough about it, it would be appreciated..

The problem.with chinise android is the low support for google apps due to China restrictions policies. They have baidu (baidu search, baidu maps, baidu mail...baidu everything)
Hotaudio guy told me that they have the mtcd units working only by voice for Bluetooth and commands (baidu based)

Well the goofy thing is Joying ships with Google Maps and the Play store out of the box... Yet the maps sound doesn't work.

All of them ships with Google maps and play store....but my point is that voice functionality is proven on baidu and not on Google....and they have not ways to try Google services to fix problems

I sent an email to Joying and they want me to update to a March 5th version......I am short on time this week so it might take a few days to continue working on this.
In the meantime I will be reading a lot of posts here.........I don't think I am nearly quite as high tech as most on here......but I can usually figure stuff out.

Also........should I back up the stock version that I have now?.........if so........is there a video that would show me how to do that?

your October 2016 ROM is too old and contains bugs anyway.
First update to the February ROM or the March ROM.
Based on the ROM you are going to install you need to take the patched version of the February link or the March link.

And yet, at least in my experience, it only seems to be Android HU manufacturers who are struggling with Google voice integration while off-brand Chinese tablet manufacturers have it working out of the box. Of course off brand tablets are a lot closer to android reference designs then a bastardized integration of a Android tablet, a head unit, and custom automotive oriented firmware to tie it all together too.

Yes, and that is also very logical.
In a head unit you need to "merge" sound from the physical radio with the sound coming from apps. That is the big difference. The fix though is very simple.
I wrote a patch for the sofia server apk that facilitates Google voice integration. That's what I mentioned in post 6.
Unfortunately Joying doesn't want to accept the fix. Obviously Google voice integration is not important for them as long as they have their chinese Baidu voice integration.

Thanks Surfer63. ......I'm now running the March 14th update. ......can I still use your tts and app kill mod in post 6.....how do I install that?........does it install just like any other apk?

Update the ROM. Quite out of date.
Also try changing the default Maps app to Google Maps in the Car Media Settings app.

Ok.........my steering wheel buttons work the way I like for now. .....I would like to know if this will change the way my steering wheel keys work now OR just give me the ability customize them.
Also.....I just saw that you modified the Navi list of apps that allow speaking during radio........which apps did you add?......I would love it if I could get Tasker to say stuff or Readittome to work and read out Mighty Text messages.....as of now .....I have not been able do any of that.

No, we can't.
The sofiaServer apk reads the package names (and not the name of the apk as such) from that file. I could not follow the code further but I assume that it "sees" a running com.google.android.tts (GoogleTTS) in memory, trying to speak something and it knows that that one is allowed to break through the radio audio stream.
What I have been thinking of, but I completely lack the knowledge to reprogram it, is that the apk reads the navi_app.txt file from preferably /sdcard or possibly /data, and not internally. In that case everyone can add his/her own line for his/her own "speaking" app to the file. Reboot and test, and when it works you are happy.
Edit: I did check again and it might even be very simple to put the file on /sdcard. I will try tonight.

The apk does not have (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) in the manifest. If you try to add it to the manifest, you will have to resign with the original certificate to get it to install. It's a good idea, just may have to put it someplace not on the sdcard, /data should work.

What about a file in the system partition? That way you can still add the apps as you wish, just a bit harder to get to

The /system partition is read-only. You would always have to remount the /system partition as read-write, write the file, and remount as read-only.
The /data partition is a read/write partition, be it that you need root rights (we have that) to write to /data. Apps can only write to their own data folder.

Eonon GA2168K Radio app and Nova launcher issue

Hello all, I just purchased and installed an Eonon GA2168K 10.1" LCD Android head unit. The stock launcher on this unit is terrible. I've installed Nova launcher and everything looks much better now. The issue I'm having is that the stock radio app is nowhere to be found however when I go back back to stock launcher, it is there. Not sure why it's not available in Nova. Has anybody else experienced this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is because it is a custom function for the head unit, so standard launchers can't see it.
Give FCC Car Launcher a try - it's great and should hopefully work for you

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried FCC and still no radio. My old Eonon Android unit on 4.4 didn't do this. I have also noticed that this is a very limited version of Android e.g., missing all the settings in the top drop down menu. Hopefully someone is working on a custom ROM for this unit. I really don't want to use the stock launcher.

Yeah your old one would have been a MTCB with Rockchip manufactured by Klyde - this one is basically a completely different software developer and manufacturer.
What is the MCU version out of interest?

I've also purchased this same unit. I'v tried a bunch of different launchers and all are no go for the radio app. Really driving me crazy that I can't use other launchers without losing the stock radio functionality.

Good to hear I'm not the only one but sucks at the same time. Though I was starting to worry because I bought this unit refurbished and the software was all screwed up when I got it. It had Apex launcher installed along with a bunch of other non stock apps. These were presumably installed by the the original purchaser and Eonon didn't even bother to reset to factory settings which is something I still have not figured out how to do.
Is your drop down menu bare like mine? Mine only shows the WiFi connection.
Bluetooth is very disappointing too, can't connect anything like bluetooth headphones or a keyboard as it does not show an option to search for devices.
This is not the true android experience I was hoping for.

Ya, mine only has wifi listed in drop-down. I can connect to Bluetooth with my phone just have to go into settings menu. I like the unit, but the custom firmware and launcher that it comes with is kinda garbage. I did get in contact with the seller for the newest update, but it still has issues. Mine has the same radio app issue you described with custom launchers and will not keep a radio preset name. I can set a preset, but as soon as I select another staion whatever is displayed gets saved as that preset name on the channel I was switching from. I did update to the newest 2/21/2019 update, but my unit still has the same bugs. I bought mine through Amazon and I'm pretty sure I'm going to return it as it was not describes as published. This unit could be awesome if it had a better firmware installed on it. I can dump the firmware if anyone wants to take a look at it and possibly fix it's shortcomings.

Mine has the same radio app issue you described with custom launchers and will not keep a radio preset name. I can set a preset, but as soon as I select another staion whatever is displayed gets saved as that preset name on the channel I was switching from. I did update to the newest 2/21/2019 update, but my unit still has the same bugs. I bought mine through Amazon and I'm pretty sure I'm going to return it as it was not describes as published. This unit could be awesome if it had a better firmware installed on it. I can dump the firmware if anyone wants to take a look at it and possibly fix it's shortcomings.

I just installed a GA2168K yesterday in my 2006 GTO.
A couple things I noteced... I noticed in the included harness adapter is they have constant battery power and accessory power swapped.
Installed it with their R0008 dash cam that came with it. No DVR app. Finally found the main config menu (hidden by password 8888) and enabled DVR.
It does not detect the camera. it works fine with my GA2170. Went to their website and was looking to see if they had a different camera available, and that is the only one. However, on the R0008 camera product page it gives a list of HU's it isn't compatible with, and the GA2168K is one of those. Sent support an email, hopefully will have an answer Monday on that. The other frustration is that half the settings they show in the user manual and online, aren't showing up in the actual menu's. Hoping they can send me a newer Firmware/OS that enables those... And finally, there is no seperate control for subwoofer like there was in the GA2170 Looks like I need to buy the remote amp level control and run a new cable to the trunk
I also need to add that it is advertised as having 18 FM radio presets and 12 AM presets.
Mine is only storing 6 of each and just goes back to the beginning...

Mine has the 18 fm presets and 12 am. Just have to hit the Fm or am button to go to the next set. As for the DVR cam, I remember reading that it wasn't compatible with DVR cams in the Amazon description where I purchased mine. Specifically list the r0008.
So problems I've noticed so far. I've updated to the latest firmware provided by Eonon support.
The addition of a screen off button is nice, but the brightness settings for auto brightness are still to bright at night. I really wish they would include a brightness slider. Maybe a lower setting on the nite slider.
My wifi does not automatically connect to my phone when i turn on my hot spot. I have to manually go into wifi settings for it to start searching for a signal.
My radio presets will not save properly. They only save what is listed when I change the station. Becomes really annoying since it save whatever song data is displayed. I really would like a way to add a custom name to stations so that it doesn't just save the radio data displayed.
I also really wish I could use the radio app with another launcher like Nova. The radio app contains all the speaker adjustment controls and equaliser settings.
Edit: this is the response I got from Eonon after sending them a similar email for their developer to hopefully look into and correct some of the quirks of the firmware on this head unit for a future update.

If someone wanted to work on a ROM for this headunit I'm sure I could figure out how to dump it. This head unit has some great potential but has some flaws that I wish the companies devs would fix.

I have the GA9163K (the Mazda version) of this head unit. Apparently the K versions of this model, which generally come with Android 8.1.0, do not support front camera/dvr function. That's what the EONON rep told me anyway.
On my unit, in the advanced menu (code 8888) it had options to change the number of presets on each band and could be selected between 6, 12 or 18 presets on FM and 6 or 12 on AM. It also had the option to enable OT frequency, but not sure what that is as we do not use that here.

I'm actually on Eonon GA2168K - 10" Android 8 Head Unit, it's a good device with minor problems.
Anytime developers fix a problem they introduce an other problem and there's no community support for MTK chipsets.
Because of this I'm evaluating the new Eonon GA2178, that is quite similar but based on Rockchip chipset.

I installed the GA2180A eonon unit last week and changed the launcher to the paid version of Car launcher by apps lab studio and found the same issue, no radio.
I was able edit the theme and create a widget with 'KWGT Kustom Widget Maker' that basically displayed a picture, I used an radio clipart png file i found with google image search and set the action when clicking the widget to run the Radio activity inside the app installed called com.ts.MainUI8. Your app and activity may be slightly different to mine. I do own the pro key for KWGT, but I don't think that matters.
This is my first post so the system won't allow me to post the google drive link to my custom widget. Feel free to message me for it. It would need modification too.
Depending on the rom installed in yours you may be able to use something like 'Activity Launcher' by Adam Szalkowski to create a shortcut directly to the activity. This is a much easier than the first option, but some roms have the ability to create shortcuts turned off. Mine did so I found widget work around.
The above could easily be adapted to launch other internal activities beside the radio.

I have an UGAR 9 in (model 8227L). It's running Android 9. And has a clunky stock user interface. I used Nova Launcher and "quickshortcutmaker" to create shortcuts to the stock apps that did not show up in my app drawer. Namely the AV-IN and radio apps. So I got that all working pretty well. However, I have not been able to figure out how to get the upper status bar to remain visible. It hides itself after one or two seconds. If you have figured out how to keep the status bar from hiding please let me know. Thank you much

What we've been missing all along.

OK, not my favorite car in the world. But my mate showed off his new (to him) Volvo XC90 about 4-5 yrs old.
We sat in it for about two hours working out all the knobs n whistles and then we found the phone section.
Not only could we pair his phone, I then did mine. Plus it has option for about ten more - at the same time
Samsung S6 and Samsung S9, so nothing too special. But the realy cool thing, and I mean REALY COOL, and something I've been crying out for for ages for my humble px5 head unit, was at the click of a touch screen not only could you see recent callers, but also recent messages. This is where I would put the well n truly shocked icon !
No google crap, nag screens, warnings of the apocolypse or anything. Jjust a simple clear list of readable recent messages.
Not only that but at a simple touch of any message it was read out. No fuss or bother, no mods, plugins or crashes or freezes.
It just worked.
So why have we let google literally kick our asses for so long. Sob.

Android auto is an general overall head group of sub groups of posts of specific catagories including the google os Android auto.
But before you move it, how about you show me show me a dedicated (android auto) head unit I can buy, that fits my car.
Mercedes w203. That runs 'Android auto' and doesn't have a ton of usless junk like play store, tracking, feedback, Adverts, usage logs, heart monitor, nag screens, privacy notices and works flawlessly as my post above describes. Whoose system IS also a android 'hacked' based system. And I wont care who makes it.

You're still confusing android auto with cheap Chinese headunits running modified versions of Android 6-10 - they are very different.
Android auto units basically mirror your phone display to the vehicle Android auto headunit display.

Since you're still not alive to the differences and comparing your PX5 hacked Chinese android headunit to an unknown type unit, mods moved your post to the appropriate android headunits sub-forum.
Suggest learning the basics and differences and then ask questions.

I would say also, that head units supporting AA are not sold separately, but they only come mounted in new cars, as part of the infotainment system. They do not have and it is not possible to install apps on them, they only become alive when connected to a mobile phone (which will be then the brains of the system).
As marchnz said, they only mirror your phone's screen.
You are talking about independent head units supporting Android operating system (which do not need AA because they are already being able to download and run appps from Play store) , and that is something else.

I know what android auto is.
I also agree some manufatures use android as alternative to win ce to build their quality radios like Pioneer.
This is different and why I posted. Please don't assume its an either or and that I'm an idiot for mentioning it.
Volvo have used Googles android as an os without the crap 'spyware apps' and intergration to develop their OWN system. called sensus
It does not mirror a phone and run apps from it.
Although the new version does have AA and much more google integration unfortunately.
It does not require a phone to work. It has its own built in for data if need be. But also runs off line.
Its an independent system that can link to multiple paired phones for messaging and calls.
Their are no agreements and nag screen pop ups every two minutes from google. All its functions are running at once and all work together. So easy to flick from one to the other without it crashing.
Its a great system and showcases what can be done and the potential of just android as an os without googles presence and interference.

Android unbranded for car lost Zlink

I've just got an Android unbranded tablet for my car (BMW E82) yesterday.
It's a 10.25 touch screen with Android 10.
Under System Information, I can read: version HY: V2.32.4core.201113.
I can enter to factory settings via 8888 code.
It came with Zlink already installed, and I could make it work perfectly yesterday with my iphone & wireless carplay.
(I can't remember actually if it was Zlink or Zlink5 but it worked good).
Today, I mistakenly cliked on reset to factory, and after the headunit rebooted, the Zlink app is not present anymore.
I am struggling to get it back...
I have found some Zlink apk files in forums, but none worked for me.
Does anyone know if it's pre-installed somewhere on the head unit, and I just need to enable it ?
Or should I install it with an apk file ?

i think you can find it in settings then in factory settings it might your factory setting have password 1617 or 2010 try any one of this password. there you will find the option name feature settings in there find “phone connected” or something like this tick that option and you are ready to rock again.

I tried the 1617 and 2010 passwords, but they don't work on my Head unit.
The only password that worked for me so far it's 8888.
I can then get into a factory menu as shown in attached picture.
I have looked everywhere in those menus, but I can't find anythink similar to "phone connected".
I suppose that Zlink app was installed manually by the vendor before he sold me the head unit, and the only way for me to get Zlink back, is that the vendor send me the file that match this unit to be installed....

#1 - It's tough to communicate with them
( they are all in China, and it's clear they translate English using Google-T )
I don't know the specific build for your system, but Zlink is somehow tied into the entire Android Build Version which they custom build for each HEAD Unit.
I have provided two different files here. READ this carefully.
The file starting with:
gongban_92_Zlink - is the older version of Zlink. It may be less resource intensive, but it works similarly to the new Zlink5 version.
The file starting with:
gongban_F92XX_Zlink5 - is the newer version of Zlink ( or at least as new as it can get) ( This was given to me by the manufacturer's tech dept in March of 2023. )
The way I was told to install these is to:
- Save which ever one you want to install onto an empty USB stick.
- DO NOT change the name or the extension of the file.
- Plug in the USB stick
- Open Your App Drawer > Find Car Settings > Find System Information
- There could be a button on that System Information screen that says: Android Update ( This button was greyed out(unaccessible) until plugged in my USB drive.)
- You hit that button and wait for the update to finish. everything is automatic from that point.
- When successful you would notice a new Zlink app in your app drawer. It might even automatically launch after system reboots.
BEFORE YOU GO TRYING THESE STEPS THOUGH:
Understand that these apps are custom built to access bluetooth and Wifi functions of the Android system.
If they are not installed correctly they might
A: Not work at all
B: Brick your device

XYZ apps is a custom system settings app which forces apps to boot with the head unit, and never allows them to force quit. ( This app in not attainable on the app store - is what I mean by custom)
Before you go installing any updates or files, find the APPS section in factory settings and see if Zlink is on that list.
The list is "check-able" - like toggles or check marks
- If you see the app there and it is UNCHECKED then CHECK IT, go back a page and find Reboot.
Then see if you app appears again.
If you don't see it.. well.. that's beyond my understanding, but most likely you would need to install them through a USB port like I detailed above.
Weather or not MY attached files will be suitable for your system is a whole other question.
One other thing:
- I'm not a developer and I don't know how build versions work on Android and how each aspect of each function affects other aspects:
But it is clear that the Chinese devs who write these Android builds are forcing certain apps to run in the background.
Having said that.
NEVER connect your Android head unit to Wifi and use it to access Personal Information or store passwords.
These aren't ATT or Verizon head units. They are made by a foreign company who is most likely under the umbrella of laws and regulations which allow the military to snoop on customer data in the name of the motherland...
The only way I use my headunit, is for it's radio, and the Android Auto function for navigation.. (whenever Zlink isn't crashing)
I don't allow any internet connection to the unit as it is not necessary. As a driver all you need in a car is a map and some tunes.

Thank you for your reply ! It helps to understand a lot of things.
Well, today I went back to the (physical) shop where I initialy bought the device last week.
I told them that Zlink is no more available and to me, it's the most important feature on the tablet.
They tried to reapply a new Reset factory settings, expecting that Zlink will be back with that, but it wasn't back. As they couldn't find a solution, I asked to replace the HU.
At first, it was a 2/32 GB (Android 10), and they replaced it with another with 8/64GB (Android 11) from the same manufacturing (on the box I can read J-1018)
Wouah ! Now it makes all the difference !
The device is much faster, and now when I go to factory settings (with 8888), I can find there a menu, like the one you are mentionning, called in my device "Type selection" as seen in attached picture.
This menu was not present in the previous 2/32 GB device...
Now as per the seller, even if I hit on Reset factory settings, I will always have the ability to restore Zlink (which a built-in version, quite old as it is 3.8.8 but it does the job).
I think we could have found a solution on the 2/32 GB (Android 10) with the help of your files. But I don't have anymore the device, so can't test it.
I hope someone else from the forum with the same problem can test them, and reply back if they are helpful.
In all cases, I am happy that this issue occured on the first device, because thanks to that, I have now a 8/64 GB instead, and I can only recommend to anyone buying a new Android HU, to choose as minimum 4 or 8GB of RAM, and 64 or 128 GB for stock memory. It is the minimum nowadays.
