Booting only into recovery - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hey hello community,
Actually i have been installing a custom rom in my redmi note 7s (code named as: lavender). First i have tried Corvus OS v15.0 based on Android 11. Then I want to try Evolution X Rom just because some says it was better. But i have faced some lag problems in Evolution X so I want to switch back to Corvus.
The problem comes when after flashing the same Rom (what i have previously flashed) through TWRP it is not booting up but instead goes to Recovery again. The Evolution X is working fine when flashing again but not Corvus. I have re-downloaded the zip file for Corvus but the same problem is occurring. I have TWRP version 3.4.0 but i have trued newer verson but the same problem is there. I have also tried flashing older versions of corvus but its giving me Error-1 during flashing process.
I can't figure out the solution by my own so I want help from you guys. Ask me about any other thing you want to know about this situation.
Thank you in advance for helping me.

One possible solution is to clean wipe and then format data before flashing the Corvus ROM within recovery mode.

Please try the latest stable version of OrangeFox Recovery instead of the official TWRP.

Unable to install custom rom in lenovo k6 power

Hello friends I am trying to install Custom rom in my Lenovo K6 power phone but due to some error it can not be installed. I request you to help me as soon as possible and tell me the reason for this error and if possible then suggest the correct rom for this phone.
I think you have not flashed 64bit version of twrp. Flash the correct twrp and the issue will be fixed.
Please provide me right trwp download link as well as way to install. Currently no os installed on my phone.

Download and install TWRP below, it's the 64bit version and you can install via TWRP. In the menu of installing ROMs in TWRP choose the option to install .img, choose TWRP and install, then choose the ROM you want and install. Remember that you must erase everything and format the data.

Yeah
Flash 64 bit twrp . And don't forget to reboot into twrp again after flashing 64 bit twrp .
This problem is because of your 32 bit twrp.
Try installing 64bit twrp recovery . Then u wil b able to flash rom. Please note that twrp 3.1.0 is 32 bit and twrp 3.1.1 is 64 bit.
Please tell me marshmallow rom

I think its a very common mistake everybody does.
before installing any custom ROM make sure that u wipe Dalvik cache and cache of the device then flash the rom and gaps also.
And another major issue with the custom ROM requirements like that ROM support in one minimum version of TWRP recovery
if u install that ROM bellows the version of requirements the ROM will not install properly.

Oreo 8.0 8.1 installing issues

Hi you there,
I start this thread because I´m having some issues installing 8.0 and 8.1 Oreo Roms, every of them have the same problems when I try to install them in my device (REDMI 3X). Actually, I have install and running Resurrection Remix Nougat + Gapps Micro, and it works fine.
When I try to install some Oreo Rom, I have these 2 possible options:
1 - I install rom + gapps (no matter which one, cause I tried each one): phone restarts and stucks at logo and after maybe 30 minutes I must restart it manually and reinstall a nougat rom. It never starts, and it is f...ng annoying.
2 - I install rom, afterwards, I restart and it works fine, but I have no gapps. The I boot into recovery and after gapps are installed I restart the phone, then gapps never work.
Please, I just get 2 times an oreo rom working, but now they never work, I don´t know whta to do. I also tried different recoveries, flashing them from PC, installing them from .img with TWRP, nothing seems to work. As I said: F...NG ANNOYING. I need heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp
I think I am not the only one with this problem, if anyone can help I will appreciate that.
Thansk in advance.
First of all, this should be in the Q&A section. Secondly, I can help you. I'm sure that you downloaded the gapps from the cloudkenzo something, right? Yeah those gapps do not have any issues, instead they make an issue. After flashing your rom and then these gapps file, the system partition normally unmounts. But usually when you boot into the ROM, the partition should re-mount. These unofficial gapps causes some issues with that. A simple solution- Just mount system in twrp, now reboot to system and you should be fine. I faced the same issue and this is my solution.

Make sure using the latest twrp.
If u already have the latest twrp then the problem is in gapps, use gapps for oreo 8.1, maybe there is posted in ur rom thread

same ****ty problem with my 3s 2gb .. doesnt matter which oreo 8.1 rom i flash.. tried almost 4 oreo 8.1 roms.. all couldnt boot.. and if by chance it boots then cant add google account..
yet to try that 'Mount' thing solution suggested by Williams
You ask in wrong place stupid!
Ask in Q&A section stupid!
This section jus for downloading rom and kernel stupid!
I face the same issue with a Redmi 3 S (global version) with 3 GB RAM. Nougat ROM's are fine but all Oreo ROM's which I tried (most recent builds of PixelExperience, crDroid, Atomic-OS) show these boot loops. This is all with the latest TWRP installed (also tried custom builds), cleaned properly my device and was using the linked Oreo GAPPS. I usually flash in one instance 1) ROM, 2) GAPPS and 3) Magisk.
The only time I had a working Oreo ROM was after several tries with PixelExperience where on my last try I booted into safe mode and it somehow worked after that.

Going back to stock OOS -> stock recovery?

Hello there ^^
I want to completely revert my OnePlus 5 to stock. I found some guides that could help me through this, but I have one problem/question:
Where can I download the latest Stock recovery (that works with Treble)? I've searched through some threads and although some users post download links, their posts are often quite old and thus the download also seems outdated.
Do I actually need to flash the latest version of the stock OOS recovery? Or is it sufficient to install just any version and then flash the stock OOS zip file?
Anf if I need the latest one, can someone provide me with a download link or tell me where I can find it?
Thank you so much!

Direct link to download the latest stock OnePlus 5 recovery: https://oxygenos.oneplus.net.s3.amazonaws.com/recovery.img (also available on the OnePlus 5 Software Upgrade page on the OnePlus website here)
Also, in case you need it, you can download the complete zip of any version of OxygenOS version from this post.
It worked, I'm back to stock now.
Thanks!^^
Hi
Thanks for the post Shadowstep.
The OOS zip files that is on your ports, can I just use TWRP? Or does it basically wipe out everything and does a complete install, or does it just use TWRP, and do a system/data/cache wipe and I can use nandroid restore if it doesn't work? I have been looking for just a flashable image of OOs 8.1
Regards

Yes, you can flash the complete zip via TWRP and it'll install just fine. For a clean install, I suggest you boot to TWRP, wipe all the partitions (except internal storage), including system, vendor, cache, dalvik-cache and data. Once done, flash the full OOS zip and you will have a fresh, clean install of stock OOS with encryption.

Latest oreo roms and some problems...

When I install the latest oreo rom and recommended recovery, there are always problems
for example: error 7, Can't mount vendor, unable to mount storage...
When I install Pixel Experience and RR oreo rom, this error is happening and I can not install a different rom or another zips, using different recovery not the solution. I tried some suggestions here but the result has not changed
I installed a stock rom with QPST and problems improved
Exactly what we should do, Can you explain in detail

Please provide specifics of ROM and TWRP Version. Did you load mods? Did you use custom kernel?
I installed this recovery for bootleggers 8.1 rom,
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673956719939820462 (twrp 3.2.1.0 It works well),
then I've installed Orangefox recovery for try and I used for long time without any problem,
later I flashed this recovery for Pixel Experience rom
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262904027766 (twrp 3.2.3.0),
installed without a problem but a long time stuck in google logo, I rebooted three times a long press power button and the phone opened normally
No problem when using the phone but all times error on recovery.. such as 'vendor, invalid argument, mount error.
Always these errors during the rom installation and wiping..
Now is stock rom installed, I think there are some changes in the new rom because such problems did not happen before,
thank you for your answers and developers

Okay... I'd recommend one thing.
Install the custom ROM. Then follow flashing procedure and do read the new FAQ posted by the devs. And after that... Try to reflash the recovery.img by pressing install image option. After this... If the problem persists, try to follow the procedure again and check if your recovery image isn't corrupt. Plus don't use the recovery from TWRP.ME
I have a recovery that can solve this problem but you can't restore ROMs you backed up

If you want to install latest update roms then read this FAQ:https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77872447&postcount=2325:confused:
if you want to revert to old roms then you have to flash stock nougat rom using qfil and install twrp 3.2.1.0 and install old roms
don't do it wrongly otherwise you will get updater error 7 or can't mount vendor, etc,

You should be on latest nougat that is with november security patch. All rom after 14/10/2018 should flash with latest twrp that is 3.2.3.0. all roms before that should be flashed with twrp 3.2.1.0.

The thing is with new twrp there is decryption support which was lacked in old. Vendor partition is present in both i think. All the new roms are encrypted by default

Noob Friendly GUIDE TO GSIs [P,Q] [TULIP:RN6PRO]

NOOB FRIENDLY? yea I guess so!
Thanks to @erfanoabdi for porting Android Q GSIs, OEM GSIs, etc......
NB: I don't know if other developer's GSIs would work or not.. Or even this would work for you.. It did for me for Q.. Try at your own risk.. Don't blame anyone if you made a mess! And i'm not a dev.. so.. there's no use of reporting bugs to me... although you can comment it so that someone might just maybe knowing how to help you!
Things You'll need
1. Unlocked bootloader
2. Custom Recovery (TWRP preferably)
3. Total backup (in case something goes wrong)
4. Treblized ROM(Most ROMs for Tulip are basically Treble Supporting)
5. Vendor(I strongly recommend Xiaomi.eu Android 9 Vendor! LINK: https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi...eu_multi_HMNote6Pro_9.4.25_v10-9.zip/download )
6. GSI of your Choice from https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/gsi/
(PLEASE NOTE THAT TULIP ONLY SUPPORTS ARM64 A ONLY GSIs)
7. IF AND ONLY IF YOU'RE FLASHING ERFAN'S GSI THEN YOU NEED TO FLASH PERMISSIVERv2 AFTER FLASHING ANY GSI BE IT P OR Q.. AND IF YOU'RE FLASHING ANDROID Q GSI YOU NEED TO FLASH FIXZYGOTEv2 AS WELL
Q: How to make vendor Lonely? / How to install vendor alone?
A: Flash the Xiaomi.EU pie ROM and wipe dalvik, cache, system.. Don't wipe Vendor!!
Steps To Follow
1. Flash the ROM [Xiaomi.eu Based on Android 9 PIE]
2. Wipe Dalvik, Cache, System. DO NOT WIPE VENDOR
3. Now Flash the Genric System Image /GSI/ of your choice.
4. If and only if you're flashing Erfan's GSIs, FLASH PERMISSIVERv2 AFTER FLASHING ANY GSI BE IT P OR Q.. AND IF YOU'RE FLASHING ANDROID Q GSI YOU NEED TO FLASH FIXZYGOTEv2 AS WELL
5. Although in some cases when GSIs did not boot i flashed the latest Genom Kernel 4.4.180 and it seemed to boot up properly!
6. Reboot!
NB: There are bugs.. a lot... so you'll probably need the backup you previously created... Just sayin'....
Simply hit the thanks button..
No no no... pleaseeee...:good::angel:
