I have my nexus 7 still alive and kicking running aosp android 7.1.2. I tried to install xbox game pass app but it says it's not compatible with my tablet. Is there a specific reason or is there a ROM that allows me to install said app? Thank you.

I saw that they have a veetle player for linix based machines and I was wondering if I could install that veetle player on my motorola xoom tablet? I don't know if its possible but if possible would I have to root to do something like this? It said that I needed terminal to install.
Some help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,

Although Android is Linux based, it's not a desktop Linux flavour so no you won't be able to install desktop apps on your tablet. The developer would need to release an Android specific app for you to install it.
won't work
Hi
I have a problem that I cannot install Nexus Q app from market on my Galaxy S3 (stock rom)
it says incompatible device,
I wonder why
even I tried to download apk and install it gives me package paste error
is it meaning the app only runs on Android 4.1? it wont work on 4.0 or below?
It will work once the Q is available for shipping. I contacted Google about it. They said there were still some bugs being worked out but it will be available at launch.

Yes you need 4.1 unless check development forum and see how to change the Q .apk file to work on ICS

I have seen several people say that you need to be running JB to get the Q to work. In the devices manual it says that you need a device running at least GB. Did I miss something here? No way Google is going to release this device to the masses when it's only compatible OS is not even released yet.
I am guessing that at launch Google will update youtube and Play Music to be compatible.

There is a Google support page for the Nexus Q (can't find it right now) that says the current applications only work on JB and the backwards compatible application will be available when they start shipping. If you want to try to get it to work on ICS before then see this thread in the development forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28656080&postcount=1
After installing cm 10-20130414 nightly I get the message device not compatible when trying to download some apps like hulu plus. Any ideas? Thanks.
Nightlies are experimental versions I assume that you are aware of it? Try to install stable version and tweak it some nighltly features you may find them on google.

There are many device properties that Play Store checks to see if an app is considered compatible. Screen resolution and density, permissions like telephony, location services, gps, and not the least of which is the device name in build.prop. Sometimes changing those things makes Play Store say they are now compatible.
But just because Play Store says it is not compatible does not mean it will not run on your device. It just means Play Store will not let you install it. The solution is to get the app somewhere else, like the Amazon Store, 1mobile.com store or from another device. I have found that the majority of apps that Play Store says is not compatible actually run well on the Nook Color.

try download from other market, or just download the apk.
or maybe the app is just not compatible with jellybean (cm10)
Is anyone having issues with nexus media importer on Android 4.3? On 4.2.2 there were no problems with any usb, but once the nexus 10 received the ota and upgraded to 4.3, nmi gives an error of something like that the pendrive is protected and it's impossible to do anything.

Did you try it with the Trinity or Flaming Monkey kernel? Depending on what you're using for external storage you will need kernel support. If you were using a custom 4.2 ROM it probably had it built in if you weren't running a custom kernel. Other than that you may just need to wait for them to update the app.

It was working on 4.2.2 stock, but it doesn't work after 4.3 updated (stock too). No kernel change. Any clues?

I'm trying on a non-rooted nexus 10, so stickmount isn't an option.
Stream video
Whenever I try and play a video it tries to download it and doesn't stream it... I don't want to download I just want to play it from the USB. Any ideas why this is happening?
Solved: was file type. Doesn't stream avi without MX Player or similar

Normally you would get a message, but I assume you have ES Explorer installed. It has a "feature" where it claims support for every stream. Since you didn't have anything else that supported that stream type, it started downloading it.
Yeah, AVI and MKV are not natively supported by Android, so they will not stream.

Currently flashfox (and several other combo's) do not work with my 4.4 install, running as secondary on multirom, 4.3 = primary.
hopefully someone will resolve 4.4 issue in the near future.....

That's just odd. I still have yet to encounter an issue with it. I'll keep looking then.

if you’ve got a previous version of flash player installed on your device, you’ll need to uninstall it . Now follow theses steps to install flash manually on android 4.4 kitkit
Download Dolphin Jetpack from the Google Play Store. Dolphin Browser & Dolphin Jetpack
Next download the Flash Player which is a hacked version of Flash. Yo can find Hacked version here
Go to Settings > Securities > Unknown resources. This will let you install apks outside the Google Play i.e. unknown installations.
Make sure to first install any previous version of Flash before installing the hacked Flash Player for the compatibility.
In Dolphin Browser, go to Menu > Settings > Web Content > Flash Player to enable the flash setting in the browser.
I've done everything you've said, but flash still doesn't work when I'm trying to watch live broadcasts from vapeon TV. I keep getting a message that says I need to install flash player. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Apparently I didn't do everything you said! Lol. I didn't turn on the flash player in the Dolphin browser. Now everything works fine since I've turned it on. Thanks for the help!
