Battery life - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've recently installed Linage 17.1 to my OnePlus 2 it works very well but the battery seams to be running down very quickly down to an App called -5 with a black android robot. See screenshot.
Is this a virus ? Can it be disabled ?View attachment 5287931

This happens when the Google Services in the background keeps running. That continues the work of keeping all google services synchronized and updated.
Gmail, the Chrome, and other play services works in the background to interact with the company's Play Store.
Sometimes these services get so busy in their jobs that they cause this huge power lose on our phones.
Try out a simple fix for this. Whenever you realize the battery is draining rapidly just reboot your phone. Then the services will stop for a while and you will be able to use the phone as regular.

I've rebooted the phone and cleared the cache and one app -5 as in the screenshot keeps cropping up and draining the battery.

Try using posp 9
It has good battery life, no random reboots, little bit of customisation

I found that it is issue with my battery

Battery life on MIUI - Post your experience

I am getting about 3 - 4 days of average usage out of a 100 % charge, running MIUI 1.8.19. I will continue to update this thread with confirmed findings of MIUI users posted here. Other than that, happy flashing!
People experiencing battery drain issues please post the following:
Your running kernel ([email protected] if you didn't flash anything on top)
CPU spy screenshot of a drain (from 100 % to like 20%, you can get CPU spy from market)
Screenshot of stats from the battery monitor in settings
Did you perform a battery recalibration after flash? (Charging the phone to 100 % in off mode, then boot)
My recommendations on increasing battery life:
Keep data on off whenever you don't use it. WiFi does not seem to have battery drain issues, use that instead if you are at home.
Disable albumart and lyrics download in music player, when you dont use it.
The media server can go crazy on battery drain - Even if you don't listen that much to music.
Use another launcher than the standard one. Sometimes in rare occations (happened for me twice though) the launcher keeps the phone out of deep sleep. I have had good results with Go Launcher.

Easy Alternative,
Download Battery Calibration from the market (Free) and install
Do a continuous charge the phone from AC charger recommended instead PC USB to 100% while its on
Follow instruction of the application and rate it well before uninstalling (the app creator made our life easy for free)

You are in the wrong forum, this is the SGSII forum.
But to help you anyway: Using 2G instead of 3G helps alot on the SGS1.

Wakelock on my Find 5

I'm switched over to the latest OmniROM nightly (Currently 20140125) for my Find5 but discovered a bad wakelock I never experienced before. It keeps the phone in a wake state like 95% of all the time.
sns_periodic_wakelock
Google and Forum search for it showed up several possiblitys, I tried to eliminate them all. Today I completely wiped my phone and installed the latest Omni nightly on a blank device with TWRP + Core Google Apps without installing any other additional app to it.
And still the sns_periodic_wakelock was there. So it must be caused by something related to google core apps or omnirom itself.
Did anybody discovered something similar with Omni Rom on find5? I never had this before on non kitkat roms.
And it's not just a display fail, the battery is really draining fast with omnirom. Unsubale in my case. Charging to 100% and 3hrs later just letting my phone "sleep" the batery is already down at 20% with only 5min display time.
Any suggestions would be awesome!

I had this too ...think it was right after i switched to omni. For me the next nightly or the one after it fixed it for me. That's all I can say.

Last time I saw an "SNS_XXXXXXXXX" wakelock...was when I had a stockish ROM, and the big hint as to what it was-was the FaceBook icon for the wakelock.
I suspect a social networking app is the culprit. "SNS" standing for "social networking service".
Today I totaly whiped the phone again and installed the latest omni again. Seems to work because now the SNS Wakelock is still present but below 5%. Strange...
I keep an eye on that.

My guess is that it's in gapps somewhere... Or maybe it's in the blobs... I should look through the blobs directory for that string.
While it's listed as a kernel wakelock, it is not actually present in the kernel as far as I can tell. It also doesn't appear in any of the frameworks.
(While most Android wakelocks go through the PowerManagerService and all get lumped under a single wakelock at the kernel level, it IS possible for any userspace application to grab a kernel wakelock of any name.)

Sounds to me like some app is asking for sensor data and causing the wakelock then.

[Q] LG G2 Battery Drain

Hi,
I have had my G2 for a few months now and have taken all the usual battery saving measures. On a normal work day, I can leave work with approx 60% battery left. No sync and no apps running in the background. I use task manager regularly and Clean Master to keep my battery lasting as long as possible. However, for no discernible reason, my battery has started running down at an alarming rate today. When i look at my running apps the list covers almost every app i have whereas normally it might have just a couple. I haven't downloaded any new apps or updated anyand my OS is up to date. Am i the only one experiencing this?
Thanks
Assuming you've already tried setting Location Mode to Battery Saving instead of High Accuracy, check to see what's consuming most of the battery (Settings--> Battery; tap on the battery icon).

If the problem is not to do with wakelocks, then it is probably due to a badly calibrated battery. Download two apps: advanced battery calibrator and batterycalibration. Follow the instructions of batterycalibration first. Then the next day, charge your phone to 100 percent, then follow the instructions on advanced battery calibrator.
That should fix the battery life.
However, if it is wakelocks, download wakelock detector from the play store and screenshot the cpu wakelocks page please. Then, post the results on here.
Hi, I have location turned off completely. Battery use says my screen display but that is set either to auto or 50% today, I normally have it on full and last the day easily. It's been great up until today, for some reason all the apps are running in the background within seconds of killing them all off.

Hi, I'm going to look into wake locks, not heard of them before. What would cause my battery to go from being great yesterday to badly calibrated today?
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Free mobile app
Maybe some apps you started toda are draining lots of battery since there is always google/whatsapp or facebook and many other apps keeping synchronizing in the background. I dont know or you have facebook but i had that app and that drained alot of battery on my nexus 4.
Uninstall clean master and task manager, this apps draining a lot of energy. Make a hard reset after this.

Look, i not use any task manager or clean master and i got 9 hours SOT

I highly recommend you guys to disable it if you want your battery to be better ?
How was your actual battery life with it on? I've been running Fit on my phone since the first Nexus 6 port was available. While it does hold a wakelock the hit to battery wasn't all that bad considering what the app does. I average maybe 30 minutes or less SOT time with the app turned on from 630 am to 1030 pm. I was impressed as I thought I'd be recharging shortly after lunch.
Will it still drain if I don't use it but have it installed. Somehow I see notifications on my moto 360 from fit.
Use Greenify Dude !!!

It working without notification in backgriund. I belive only solution , if You don´t want to use it, is to freeze or uninstall this wih TiBu.
EDIT: looks like it is possible to disable Fit ( maybe ), under settings> Google Fit Data>and turn off Activity detection. I belive then it wont work ay more.
EDIT: nope...still working
Guys, it's not affecting battery. Don't constantly look for issues. I use Google Fit (cause I have a Moto 360) and it doesn't affect normal usage so therefore it's not an issue. If it WAS an issue it'd show in the battery graph and you'd kill your battery in a couple of hours - THAT would be an issue!

Yeah me too. I don't see any difference with or without Fit.

There is not going to be any noticable drain because the app is using the low power core. It's the same core that was supposed to give us always listening Google Now when the phone launched but Google gimped us because of patent bs.
Uh, maybe. I don't know. Maybe because we have pedometer sensor built in so its not draining battery..

decrease usage for Google play services

Hello everyone.
I have a irritating problem with battery drain. Google play services use a more than 50% of battery usage, I have to charge few 2 times a day while I'm using phone normally (sometimes browsing Internet, sometimes browsing Facebook, no using GPS) and the battery lasts maximum 6 hours from 100% to 10%.
I don't know how to decrease this usage to minimum. Uninstalling Google play services makes it better, but android without it is useless.

How it can be 50% for you? All the apps together is only 3% for me (hard gaming, mobile legends bb, minecraft, gta sa, real racing etc)

Disable location services or set it i.eLocation services to device only mode.....Thumbs up if it worked
Check that you don't have emojis on your whatsapp name. For me, it was causing some background sync errors and caused huge battery drain

I will check with my friend next time...that's extremely odd but intriguing bug!
My friend is on holiday with the phone for a week, I might have to resort to a factory reset. To be fair, it hasn't had a wipe since upgrading from Lollipop to MM so it is overdue one.
I just flashed to the newest rom and now it's OK.
I don't know what caused this usage but it was annoying. After flash and clear all storages everything is good now.
