All the sources I tried only had four files in the zip: AP, BL, CSC, and HOME_CSC. Are there any firmware packages that also contain the CP file?
I ask this because it was my first time having to use four files when using Odin, and as Odin's "Tips" message was so kind to warn me that newer models needed the four files BL, AP, CP, and HOME_CSC, I selected all four files to use, substituting the CSC file for the CP slot. I'm fairly sure that's the reason my tablet now fails to boot and goes to the "Can't load Android system. Your data my be corrupt" screen.
Worst case, I can probably just factory reset, but there were still some unsaved data on my tablet so I'm really hoping I can fix the problem by flashing a correct CP file. Failing that, can someone point me to the guides/tools I need to save my tablet's user data to my PC from recovery?
I always grab my Samsung firmware here.

Already tried. Same as others, no CP files. And apparently they no longer allow free members to download older firmware versions.
Edit: er, let me rephrase since I didn't read your post as thoroughly as I should have. I already tried the sammobile site; I didn't try the Frija software. That said, I'm fairly sure other sites host the same firmware update zips as I would probably pull from Frija (just with ads on their sites), and they didn't have the CP files I needed, so I guess official sources are out for getting a working CP file?
For the record, I never did find a CP file that can be flashed to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, but I did eventually manage to move past the corrupted OS screen by doing one or a combination of the following: flashing BL+AP+HOME_CSC, then flashing AP by itself, as well as trying to wipe the /cache partition from recovery sometimes.

Hi,
i am trying to fix software on my note3 but i have problems finding the right files.
There is Bootloader, PDA, CSC and Baseband but i don't know how to upgrade it to the correct versions.
For example i found Version OK9 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/direct-download-bootloaders-modems-t3258803
But there is no file to update PDA, CSC and Baseband?
I installed the KERNEL file and it changed the Kernel. Did not try RECOVERY yet because i think it could overwrite the Custom Recovery TWRP that is installed now.
In older post i also found some "CP" files for OJ6 and OK6 and they installed new version for PDA but i can not find them for OK9?
Can anybody please explain the different files and how to find the right versions?
I downloaded two files to update bootloader and PDA to OK6 but i can only update the Bootloader but PDA Version does not change.
CP_N9005_OK6.tar.md5
BL_N9005_OK6.tar.md5
The first file is supposed to update the PDA or not?
CP is modem/baseband and it does not update PDA. AP is PDA. You can find complete firmwares from http://www.sammobile.com/. These packages contains all parts together and you can find installation instructions for example from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdDgaqsYrRs.

Ah i see, thx for your help!
Hm so maybe it could be a good idea to install a untouched Stock Rom first and then go to modified image?
I have now installed N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005DBTGBOI1_DBT Stock Image with Odin.
When i want to go back to this image: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-lp-tw-rom-t3027148 is it enought to just install it or do i need to wipe anything before?
I don't want all the samsung adware...
Oh it even killed the philz touch recovery...

how to flash only this PDA/AP & Bootloader via odin?
BL ver : A515FXXU3BTI2
AP Ver : A515FXXU3BTI2
Neither of those are for Note 3 based upon what you have posted .
BL in bl section AP in ap section on Odin .
I just got a hold of a demo unit. It has the same passwords to remove retail mode and perform a factory reset as the s6
In the config for retail mode
First password: 5444
Second password: M729Q16K8546
Then say yes to factory reset.
On reset you can now stop retail mode. But the icon will never disappear from notification bar.
Now to just wait for custom ROM
I followed the steps in this thread for the SM-G920X link I did install package disabler pro to disable two apps, samsung retail and retail mode. I was able to force stop retail mode so the icon was gone. I had set the max reset time to 3hrs of inactivity, so I'm not sure if it would have reset my stuff or not, but I think i got it working just fine. Anyways. Onto Rom.
I used G930FXXU1APB6/XXV from the firmware thread: link
-on windows, so i have cygwin installed, extract the file so you have the AP, BL, and CSC files, put them in c:\cygwin\home\%user, remove the .md5 from the end (don't add it back after). there are 5 files you need to remove from the 4 tar files, you can look in the .tar files with 7zip to know which files are where.
tar --delete --file=[Filename here] hidden.img
tar --delete --file=[Filename here] cm.bin
tar --delete --file=[Filename here] sboot.bin
tar --delete --file=[Filename here] modem.bin <--this was the only file in CP, so I just didn't install CP in odin
tar --delete --file=[Filename here] ........pit
In odin, (3.10.7) add the AP, BL, and the CSC .tar files and start. When finished it will reboot to stock bootloader. select power off. hold down keys to get back to Odin. Now install under AP the below recovery:
I was able to successfully install recovery and root from the TWRP thread link
Once you get the G930F rom and recovery installed, its a good Idea to do a factory reset to remove any traces of the retail stuff.
I was also able to successfully install and run xposed. Use wanam v80.0 sdk23 arm64 link
Thanks to @seargent007 for the G920X writeup. I relied heavily on it to get G930F onto the phone.
Can you make calls? Don't demos usually have unknown IMEI?

Oops about your name, . Just FYI, I can't get gearVR running, I believe its due to region lock based on what I flashed. Any advice? It tells me Network error.

I'm not sure yet at this point since I don't have one. There's a chance we'd want to try a T-Mobile rom from the US or maybe we're dealing with something more difficult.

How to remove PIT?
Hi,
I'm trying to accomplish the same with my S7 LDU.
I'm stumbling on this:

When trying to delete the PIT-file, Cygwin is giving me an error. Removal of all other files went well.
The CSC-Folder, which contains the .pit is "CSC_DBT_G930FDBT1APC5_CL7600968_QB9025732_REV00_user_low_ship.tar".
So I tried all of these:
tar --delete --file=CSC_DBT_G930FDBT1APC5_CL7600968_QB9025732_REV00_user_low_ship.tar ........pit
tar --delete --file=CSC_DBT_G930FDBT1APC5_CL7600968_QB9025732_REV00_user_low_ship.tar .pit
tar --delete --file=CSC_DBT_G930FDBT1APC5_CL7600968_QB9025732_REV00_user_low_ship.tar *.pit
tar --delete --file=CSC_DBT_G930FDBT1APC5_CL7600968_QB9025732_REV00_user_low_ship.tar HEROLTE_EUR_OPEN_HIDDEN60M.pit
The error message (I have a German Cygwin Version):
tar: CSC_DBT_G930FDBT1APC5_CL7600968_QB9025732_REV00_user_low_ship.tar: Funktion read fehlgeschlagen: Bad file descriptor
tar: Am Anfang des Mediums, beende jetzt. << Translate: At the start of the medium. Stop now >>
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
Any idea how to do this correctly?
i also need help .. i also have one Demo Unit ...
What about thebattery? can you charge 100% or just 70%?
My S7 demo unit only charges to 70%. I wonder if @seargent007 has a fix. Many thanks

Hello,
I have a s7 demo 930x with software installed on it (930f) . It is possible to root this phone without to come back the behavior of demo ( erase all movies and photos, play the demo movie, battery charge only at 70%)
regards!
Hey guys, do you know if the G930X model is able to read Micro SD cards? Thanks in advance.
Hi
As my country haven't gotten the latest update, I decided to download it through SamFirm (official firmware from Samsungs servers, just not capped in download speed like Sammobile).
But the thing is, that after decrypting, it's giving me 5 files and not just one .tar
The first 3 are named AP_xxx, BL_xxx and CP_xxx so it's pretty easy to guess where I should but them. But the last two files are named CSC_AUT and HOME_CSC_AUTO, so which should I use in the CSC slot?
Also, the UMS slot is greyed out, after putting one in the CSC slot and is stating that the firmware is only filling 65mb, even though it fills 1.8gb.
Anyone know what to do?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
Direct quote
"For some reason Samsung are now providing 5 files.
You now have some options:
1. If you want to keep your existing set up and just update, or reinstall existing firmware, you are better using SmartSwitch as described here:
http://www.sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29918
2. If you want to keep your existing set up, but want to install firmware with Odin, then use
BL - Bootloader
AP
CP
CSC_HOME
3. If you want to install another country firmware, or wipe your phone, then use
BL
AP
CP
CSC
CAUTION: This CSC contains a PIT file that will wipe your existing data and return your phone to 'out of the box' or will install another country/network firmware."
Cheers

Hi,
I am trying to restore my stock firmware, but am resorting to JOdin as I am on a MAC. The buttons are sightly different to the instructions I have been given (see attachment);
Which firmware files do I put in which field??? The files I have are;
AP_G950F......
BL_G950F......
CP_G950F......
CSC_OTF_G950F......
HOME_CSC_OTF_G950F......
Now I understand that either of the CSC files can go in the CSC box, and the BL files goes in the bootloader box, but I am unsure on the other two, PDA and PHONE... Is PHONE the CP file, or the AP file??? and is PDA the CP files or the AP File???
Some quick advice please

I tried to use JOdin too but i gave up cause it seemed not workinh. Tried to use heimdall too but no flashing tool seems to work properly with mac OS since support is outtaded.
I decided to use Bootcamp to install windows on my mac.
Bootcamp is a tool which you can easily install windows on your mac. I dont have no other solution. If you find one please let us know here

PIT (Partition Information Table): you only need it if you screw up your partition table or if the firmware specifically requires it because of a change in the partition table layout.
Hello everyone,
(TL;DR, skip directly to 4. Questions)
I have a problem which I though would require a qualified input.
I will try to explain briefly:
what the current situation is,
what the desired situation is,
how I intend to get there and
where I would appreciate some help.
1. Situation:
• Device: Samsung Note 4
• Device model: SM-N910C (as the the PRODUCT NAME field in Odin Mode indicates; please confirm)
• It's been in a bootloop since August (loads the SAMSUNG boot screen, then starts optimizing 2/2 apps and restarts)
• Odin v3.13.1 downloaded
• Odin Mode entered (VOLUME DOWN + POWER + HOME)
• Downloaded (from SAMMOBILE) all the possible latest firmware for SM-N910C and the country of purchase (Bulgaria) (there were 4 codes - BGL, GBL, MTL, VVT - so 4 .zip files in total, 2GB+ each)
2. Objective:
• Get out of the bootloop successfully, and
• Recover my personal data (app data, personal files, etc.) since I don't have any backups
3. Next steps (as far as I know):
• First, try to find out which of the 4 zip files downloaded from SAMMOBILE matches exactly my device
• Second, extract the pertinent archive and get 5 files (BL, AP, CP, CSC_ and HOME_CSC_)
• Third, add the BL, AP, CP and HOME_CSC_ files each to its respective field in Odin (HOME_CSC_ is what will preserve my personal data in contrast to CSC_ which will wipe it all)
• Fourth, in the Options tab select Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time only
• Then start Odin, let it work its magic and voilà!
4. Questions:
How do you find the exact country code of a device which is in a bootloop?
Why do I get only 1 .tar.md5 file instead of 5 (BL, AP, CL, CSC_ and HOME_CSC_) when I extract the .zip files I got from SAMMOBILE ?
Where and how do you find the appropriate HOME_CSC_ file for you device so that you get to preserve you personal data after flashing with Odin?
Is adding the 4 files (BL, AP, CL, HOME_CSC_) + selecting (only) Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time the only possible way to keep your data after using Odin?
Your help is greatly appreciated, I hope this thread would be of help to many people including me.
PS1: I read that for older devices (as in the case of Samsung Note4, I suppose) you get only 1 firmware file so, if correct, that would answer Question #2.
PS2: I read also that the single file for older devices does not reset app data and files. Is this correct? If so, then Questions #3 and #4 would also be answered.
PS3: I still would like to know which is the relevant country code in my case since there are 4 options (BGL, GBL, MTL and VVL).
I am facing similar issue, wondering no one replied to your query. I am curious how did you resolve it?
