Title says it all. I've recently tried to install TWRP on 6T (latest OOS) but little to no avail. I was wondering has anyone have success with upgrading from 3.4 to 3.5 while keeping data? and if you have could you guide me into the steps that you have done to fully get the TWRP working?
No issues here, booted to twrp and flashed latest twrp installer, then magisk if you want root
@Huskied I used the themed One Plus TWRP located here on my Oneplus 6T. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-twrp-by-acuicultor-morphine1.3847752/page-10
It's on the last page if interested. I'm currently using v3.5.2-9 from there. Zero issues installing it on my end.
Flash TWRP installer zip through TWRP on your device then reboot. You should have TWRP installed then.
On my global Oneplus 6t .
Rom install w/TWRP install:
Flash OOS 10.3.9
Flash rom (with gapps included as example)
Flash TWRP installer zip
Flash finalize
Reboot recovery
Flash magisk 22.1 zip
Format data (swipe yes) wipes everything!
Reboot system.
If you just want TWRP then just install installer zip and if you want root install magisk zip afterwards then reboot. Should be good then.

If you are updating Magisk from 14 and are getting Magisk not installed error then this is what you will need to do,
Note you will probably have to start with a new clean Magisk install.
Only tested with Global Beta MIUI9
1. The main problem is caused by using a old TWRP (for example ZCX), so you will need to update to a more recent TWRP. - After you updated your TWRP follow these steps.
2. Flash the Magisk Uninstaller, if it says "Magisk Not installed" then go to Step 3 otherwise skip to Step 4.
3. Flash Magisk 14.0 after it completes , Re-Flash the Magisk Uninstaller to cleanup all OLD Magisk files.
4. reboot to system, make sure the Magisk Manger is gone, then reboot to recovery again.
5. Flash Magisk 15.2 , reboot, install the Magisk Manager if it's missing.
6. Under settings -> apps -> Magisk Manger, set allow on startup, allow storage permissions, and No Rstrictions for MIUI Battery Saver.
and you should have a fully working Magisk 15.2 now, I suggest rebooting once more to recovery and clearing Dalvik Cache. (Note Clear Dalvik Cache is in the Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> then only check Dalvik /ART Cache partition, do not select anything else!)
Do all modifications at own risk or devices risk.
nop this did not worked for me on miui 8 global stable redmi note 3 kenzo only magisk 14 works when i try flashing 15.2 it result in bootloop m using latest official twrp 3.2.1.0
Not working. it's still not installed for me. I am using the official TWRP 3.2.1.0
OK I will try looking into it some more, after the latest MIUI9 update same thing happened even with newest twrp, said not installed, but after I rebooted and tried flashing 15.2 again it installed, so very odd why sometimes it works and other times not.

Official twrp.
it shows error cant update partition..... something
I've been getting bootloops after installing Magisk on my OnePlus 5 unlocked bootloader , rooted before at 4.5.15.
I directly updated it to 5.0.2 which resulted in many errors in the end had to flash it completely and then clean install the ROM .
The ROM works perfectly with almost no trouble.
I then flashed almost all Magisk versions I could get hold of (14.5,15.2,15.3,15.4(beta))
But none of them could get past the boot animation.
I've also flashed the no Verity mod file both before and after the flashing of Magisk nothing worked.
But everytime after all this I flash the Magisk uninstaller and I get easily get back to using the device but without root.
Anyone help me rooting this ?
The ROM has been downloaded from official OnePlus website and the twrp I'm using is the codeworkx version.
First do this then tell me how it went.
1. Boot to fastboot and flash twrp-3.2.1-0-universal-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img via command window, make sure you have adb installed on pc.
2. Then boot DIRECTLY to twrp.
3. Dirty flash OOS 5.0.2 over your current rom in twrp and then wipe dalvik and cache.
4. Then boot into fastboot DIRECTLY again and flash twrp-3.2.1-0-universal-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img again.
5. Boot into twrp directly and flash Magisk 15.2.zip
6. Finally boot into the system.
7. Optional: then you can go ahead and update Magisk via it's own flash tool.
I'm already on 5.0.2 so do I dirty flash it again?
I tried to update to the newest version of OxygenOS but I'm now stuck on boot circle animation and not sure what to do.
I was initially on OOS 4.5.10
Here is what I did to try to update:
1. Downloaded OOS 5.1.3 from Oneplus website and also downloaded Magisk v16
2. Downloaded TWRP twrp-3.2.1-1-cheeseburger.img and then flashed to my phone.
3. Rebooted back into TWRP, then flashed the OOS 5.1.3 .zip file. Immediately after that, I flashed the Magisk .zip.
4. I then rebooted. I'm now stuck at boot.
I am now able to access TWRP. I wanted to try and restore using a Nandroid I made, but all my files appear as gibberish. I'm assuming this is an encryption issue?
What are steps I can take to fix this?
Edit: Figured it out.
Boot using BLU Spark recovery, or any other Oreo compatible recovery. Official twrp seems to have some issues now and then

Could you tell me the exact steps to take from where I am now? I don't want to break anything else.
Edit: Figured it out.

1) First download twrp recovery from codeworkx (Make sure you have the latest one)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-twrp-3-2-1-0-oreo-oxygenos-5-0-t3725723
2) Boot to fastboot and flash the recovery.
3) Flash the rom zip file.
4) Flash magisk zip file.
5) Restart your phone.
##Note: If you want to flash the recovery file you can do that using twrp itself or using fastboot but what I've found that some apps (banking apps) don't work after replacing recovery.
Hello, I have a T-Mobile 6T which thanks to the XDA thread about bypassing T-mobile, is running the international firmware so I didn't have to kiss their butt trying to unlock the bootloader. Yesterday I decided to try the Resurrection Remix rom since it is unclear whether the Lineage 16 rom supports the in-display fingerprint reader, and I am too busy at work and too lazy to read the entire thread to see if it does.
I followed the instructions and updated my OxyOS to the latest .15 release via TWRP which I also updated to the latest version via OTG using a USB drive because I was unable to unencrypt using the older Blu-Spark TWRP version I had installed. After the OxyOS update (on both partitions) I flashed TWRP again, rebooted to recovery and installed Pico Gapps.
I found the Resurrection Remix rom to be very buggy and I hate the way the in-display biometric works (very slow and I don't like the paw print used as fingerprint placement). Anyway I started installing apps and after 4 apps installed, it says there is no space left in storage.
Nothing will update, and when I try to check storage with any file explorer it says "access denied" or just won't load. I've tried everything. Wiped the data and did factory reset, then flashed stock rom again and same issue. What am I doing wrong?
That looks like a messed up flash. And is pretty common. Considering that A/B is still new and everyone has his own method of flashing. So assuming you can make it back to latest Stock OOS (9.0.15 right now). If you dunno how to then simple reboot to recovery, flash OOS ZIP and then TWRP. Again Reboot to Recovery from within TWRP (Reboot -> Recovery) and again flash OOS ZIP and TWRP Installer. For TWRP I recommend you to grab the latest one (3.3.1-6 as of now). Once flashed, Format Data (Wipe -> Format Data -> YES) and Reboot. Wait for it to boot up. Now you should be on Stable Stock OOS with TWRP Installed.
Now Download ROM of your Choice (RR, LOS, Bootleggers, whatever). You will also need the latest TWRP Installer (same as above) and Gapps (Nano/ Stock Recommended) and Magisk if you want to Root. Reboot to Recovery, flash ROM ZIP and TWRP Installer ZIP. Wait for it to Finish. Reboot to Recovery. Once in TWRP, again flash ROM and TWRP Installer. Once done, again. Reboot to Recovery from Within TWRP. (Read above on how to). Now, flash Gapps. Magisk if you want to Root. Once done, again do a Format Data. Reboot and be patient for ROM to boot. And then tell me wether this works or Not. Good Luck.
I formatted my Oneplus 6t and was able to install TWRP, but when I install the zip for LineageOS, instead of installing it as the OS, it just replaces the TWRP recovery with a Lineage one, and I am still unable to boot into system.

What version of twrp are you using? Did you use the twrp installer when installing twrp?

Solution is simple. After you flash ROM ZIP flash TWRP Installer ZIP again. Flashing ROM only Replaces TWRP with the Stock Recovery. As for why it didn't boot, there can be a number of reasons why. You'll have to explain some more so that we can help you
Lineage has it's own recovery included, that's normal. You need to reflash TWRP. Make sure you are using 3.3.1-6 or 3.3.1-7 (the latest versions) either will work.
TWRP Link in case you don't have it.
6T Lineage Install Instructions , I also have update instructions at the bottom, as the initial install is different. (It says to back everything up, as you will wipe everything, and lose all data)
I always flash the rom twice. Flash rom and TWRP, reboot recovery and flash rom and TWRP again. Reboot recovery, wipe(first option don't wipe data), flash magisk, gapps or anything else then reboot system.
