[Unbrick][Stock] Yoga Tab 3 - How to unbrick, and restore to stock.

I work at a shop and someone brought me a Yoga Tab 3 8" tablet that was on a screen that asked for an original google account.
It was purchased without much thought because i figured it was just part of the setup.
No this is actually a Device Protection feature google has had since Lollipop apparently.
There is a way around it if anyone is interested or is in a soft brick that they can access the recovery from.
NOTE :
THIS IS FOR THE YOGA TAB 3 8" YT3-850F ONLY!!!!! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DESTROY YOUR TABLET! PLEASE BE CAREFUL. DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING FOR WRONG MODEL. CONFIRM YOUR MODEL NUMBER BY LOOKING ON THE BACK STICKER BEFORE PROCEEDING.
You will need :
A Computer
A Micro SD Card and Adapter
A couple of hours time
Patience...
Patience........
Firstly, as always, make sure the device is charged before attempting any of this please.
Download the stock firmware from This Link.
Do not extract the firmware at all or rename it, just leave it as it is, it will take about an hour to download.
After you have the firmware downloaded move the zip file to the root of the MicroSD Card on the computer.
Eject the SDCard from the computer and put it into the Yoga Tab.
Reboot into recovery by pressing Power and Vol+ let go of Power when you see the Lenovo logo.
Once in recovery go ahead and do a factory reset/data wipe.
The next step is to actually flash the zip you put on the MicroSD earlier. You go down to apply update from SD using the Volume + and -
buttons. Power to select an option. Select the Zip you downloaded from this guide.
it will take approximately 20-30 minutes to fully install the update. after it installs it will boot up like new again, with no Google Device Protection, and it is a possible way to unbrick!

It looks like a modified package from China. I successfully installed the zip file. After rebooting, the version noted was YT3-X50F_S000022_150714_PRC (which I presumed to be People's Republic of China). The update zip does not contain any Google apps (including Play Store).

That's correct; but you can just flash the Gapps 5.1.1 ("mini" package) from Cyanogenmod (that's what I did); and then once you've got superSU installed, remove the non-North American "store" apps ^_^

Sorry for the delay in my response, but yes, this is correct. Just flash the Google apps and you will be good to go. I'm not sure where I found the firmware but there is a link there to the download. I'm pretty sure I just dug around google alot and found a post to the firmware somewhere else on XDA but to tell you the truth it was actually really difficult for me to get google apps installed and working properly and this firmware sometimes would not flash it would just sit there saying opening update.zip for hours. Good thing the battery life on that thing was amazing. :laugh:

Does anyone have a fix if the tablet is stuck after a custom boot

does anyone know where to find Lenovo YT3 X50M stock rom? im looking for it for days, but no luck. can someone help me find one please. my tablet is softbrick right now

I got root on my device, but I don't know how to flash gapps on this device, because I don't have a custom recovery, can you pls help me?

For several days straight I tried every method I could find on the internet to install Gapps on my YT3-850M without a custom recovery and every single attempt failed. I can do it without root but not without TWRP.

You don't happen to have the stock rom for yt3-x50f laying around?

I have Yoga Tab 3 Pro but i bought it in China and all my apps and software is on China... is there a way for me to have english software and Google Store on it??? Pls if someone can just tell me where to start i payed a lot of money for it and i cant even use it properly...

If it is bootlooping just restore the stock firmware, surefire way to unbrick.

A good starting point for this is to look into rooting and get a custom recovery. Then you can flash zip files, such as google play store.

You can flash the TWRP for the x50M and then install google apps. The recovery will not stay - it will revert back to stop recovery. Search XDA for TWRP-2.8.7.7_YT3-X50M.zip

Recover, install recovery, root
BEFORE ANYTHING.... unlock your bootloader
Install Drivers for Lenovo Tablet, So Adb can see your device
Open your Adb Command Windows (windows)
Commands!
Adb Devices ------- this should return a device Id # ... if it doesn't your drivers are not correct ....
Adb Reboot bootloader -------- this Should take you to the Big Lenovo Screen (it will stay there, this is fastboot mode)
Fastboot Devices ------- This Should Return The Device Id (except fastboot Device Id #)
Fastboot Oem unlock-go ------- This Should Unlock Your bootloader (allow flashing of custom firmwares, boot images, recoverys etc) THIS WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE!!!!!!!!!
After unlocking bootloader
Flash this Stock Firmware (if you haven't already)
This is FULL STOCK FIRMWARE ... not an OTA zip...

(this was based off the Twrp source that metalchef mentioned)
I recommend BOOTING it through fastboot if your only planning on flashing a few things and taking a single backup here and there... if you flash zips ALOT ... then just flash it ...
Fastboot Boot Recovery.img (this is the command you need inside of fastboot for booting recovery)
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (this is to flash recovery to tablet)
#Note# you need to put the recovery.img inside your adb folder... or drag and drop it to command window after typing "fastboot boot"
This will allow it to boot from any file path ....
To Gain Root ... Use Kingoroot , Un-intall the Superuser that kingoroot gives you ... get supersu (chainfire) from market and update the binary....
or flash supersu.zip through recovery
( I haven't tried to flash supersu because kingoroot worked) and ive exhausted so much time on the recovery ... im going to take a break ...
Afterwards .... You SHOULD have the device your seeking....

Galaxy Tab 10.1(n) CWM/TWRP Rolling Screen, need Recovery Fix

I've an old Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1n (GT-P7511) and I tried to root it with a rooting guide.
After I installed CWM with ODIN, the CWM Homescreen was flickering. So I looked for an fix (I found one, but the website with the fix was down [ismaakit.com])
After that I tried to install TWRP, but the recovery had an rolling screen too.
Has anybody a new link or the file on his computer?

Hi, my Galaxy Tab 10.1 is rooted and boot up in cyanogenmod but I can not enter TeamWinRecovery neither ClockWorkRecovery, the recovery screen is rolling down and I can not see anything, I did not find the solution but I want to join your enquiry and post, I've read some people had same issue, I hope we found the solution.

Yes! Just try to flash twrp 2.8 version and not the 3.0 or 3.1 (with odin)

Good afternoon, wanted to rootear a tablet, specifically the TWRP for Root model for LENOVO TAB 2 A10-30 TB2 X30F with a TWRP that I can not find anywhere, I know that for other Lenovo devices there is TWRP, but specifically for mine I do not I find nowhere.
They would be kind enough to tell me if there is a possibility of installing some files of these characteristics via img or via fastboot mode.
I would be very grateful.

There are couple TWRP releases which work on propably on Lollipop release on TAB 2 A10-30. You can find threads when use search here at XDA
Those work also with Marshmallow release but i could not install supersu via them.

I am trying to digest all that data that is in this forum and I can not find some information. I would like to upgrade my android to newer version as some of my app stopped being supported.
So of what I understand I need to download and flash firmware which can be rooted (for example KOT49H.I9301IXXUANH1 (as per website androidmtk.com/root-samsung-galaxy-s3-neo-gt-i9301i) (my current is KOT49H.I9301IXCSAQA2 which I can not find proper files to root) to my phone for example from here autoroot.chainfire (sorry can not post links)
on that site I can find information that i need to have unblocked bootloader but I can not find information how to do that neither here or there..... I am a little bit confused. Please Can someone tell me if I got it right and maybe help me a little bit with all this mess?

You need the latest firmware for your phone. There is no need to root before Install custom rom. Activate USB Debugging in developer Options.
You need Odin3 to download and run in your windows PC. Download the latest twrp for our device s3ve3g. Get it from twrp official Homepage. Set your phone download mode and flash it as AP. Then boot directly in recovery mode. Now you should see twrp. Make a backup and then wipe everything.(means you will loose all data) And start Install a custom rom of your choice.

You mean OEM unlocking. This is important for devices delivered with stock lollipop. So this is not relevant for s3 neo afaik.

Flashing TWRP on Samsung Galaxy S8

Okay, so I flashed TWRP onto my Galaxy S8 using Odin and then it said my workspace has been locked due to unauthorised software being installed on the device, so I then went and found my firmware online to flash it onto my device, hoping to bypass my workspace restriction but then found flashing the software factory reset my device, so I lost TWRP recovery. How on Earth do I flash TWRP onto my Samsung Galaxy S8 without being blocked from using my device? I’m a noob at this stuff but have some know how to get this far... Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.. My end goal is to root my phone with Magisk and bypass SecurityNet restrictions on my phone from unlocking my bootloader.

with this new firmware... 8.0 G950FXXU4CRKB
when i install "twrp", "RMM-State_Bypass_Mesa" and "magisk 18"
then it boot ok. BUT, when reboot.. BAM!
soft brick with the message "only official released binaries are allowed", even twrp i cant access...
ive gotten on download and flashed the firmware again and its on; but i really want my root....
so my rmm didnt worked.. how can i bypass this?!?!
anyone has a new rmm? please!!

at step 7 from install twrp...
when you are in twrp chose format and format the data to remove encryption.
I also got the message "only official released binaries are allowed" and twrp was gone and replaced by factory recovery

and i formated too...
so..... its a new block? im using the worng rmm?

i can downgrade to any b4 is that correct?

try and start from scratch
find the latest oreo firmware for you
flash it with odin and make sure OEM unlock is enabled
then follow again the guide...make sure you format data after step 7

i did...
today i enter on "oneclickroot" to check if its another way so i can root my device and the site says:
"SORRY
There Is No Root At This Time
Brand: samsung
Model: sm-g950f
Android Version: 8.0.0 (r16nw.g950fxxs4crlb)"
i found that the first firmware from b4 "G950FXXU4CRI5" on onclickroot appear rootable!
the same bootloader permit me to downgrade? or have other issues?
if oem unlock i just flash with odin?

You can flash with odin original firmware even if you don't have oem unlock.
But, to install twrp and root you NEED to have the oem unlock enabled in the developer settings

Depends, will have to check in download mode, if kg state and/or rmm state is prenormal then you will have to wait.
Om my s8 if i flash firmware i can modify my phone as soon as i connect to the imternet.
